Replacing our Vivaro drivers door lock.

- So ever since we've had the Vivaro we've only had one key and it didn't unlock the door.
We bought a second hand one and fitted it,

I haven't had to replace the key lock but the locking mechanism. It's doing my head in as the rod that comes from the key lock is a sod to get on the new part. You make it look so easy. I'm going to have another go in the morning. Great video

Great guide, helped me a lot, thanks!! Only issue I had was that feckin' yellow clip snapped now won't stay in! Gotta try find another, but what a crap design!

Great videos, I have a 2004 Primastar, which I am slowly upgrading to a campervan, one ? Have ever tried to change the gear knob, which I want to upgrade.

Apparently you can get jump leads to the battery from underneath.

Hi. Exactly same problem I have with my van. Where do you get the replacement key, lock and door machnism from please?
I got it from a local guy on Facebook Marketplace who was breaking a van.
In regards to the threaded rod from door to mechanism, did you put the threaded end in first and then into mechanism hole or vice Versa? Thanks
It was quite a while ago now, but if you mean the the one in the blue clip?, I think it goes together after.

Any chance do you know how to remove that if the door is closed?
I would imagine it would be doable, but probably pretty awkward. If you haven't got a bulkhead, it might be easier to remove the drivers seat first for access? Good luck sorting it out 🤞
Where did you buy the replacement? I've got as far as dismantling everything but don't know the best place to get a new lock.
I picked mine up locally on Facebook Marketplace.

Excellent video. I've just bought a 2007 Trafic that has no external door locks, the central locking works on all doors. I want to instal an external lock to the driver's door - would the process be the same as on Vinnie?
Now that's a good question🤔. I think the doors etc are the same over the years, so I would bet that it would fit? The door locking mechanism might need changing if it doesn't have the function too. Does it definitely not have a keyhole hidden under a cover somewhere? Good luck sorting it out 🤞.

@@LarcsWorkshop definitely no keyholes - the suspicion is that a previous owner must have had an issue and simply replaced the original with a non-locking item - I'd rather put it back to how it should be in case the remote key/system fails

I have a problem with the rod that inserts into the blue clip. It keeps slipping, any ideas how i might resolve this issue?
Sounds like maybe the blue clip has got damaged/twisted or the ridges on the rod are worn ?
