Barnes & Noble Cyborg Monday sale. Buy 1 game get the second one half off. I bought 2 BT Armored Combat and 2 Beginner sets. Basically it came down to both beginner boxes ended up being free. A buddy from work now has a set and we shared the discount. We play BT on our days off. We have BT nerd talk all week at work, it's like foreplay before we hit the tabletop on our days off. Our days at work, no longer feel like work. We ordered the Kickstarters a couple days ago. Me: Star Captain with extras. Him: Star Commander.
I still have my original paper maps from the mid-80's. They were HEAVILY used, but still remain in very good condition. Keeping them folded and in a box when not in use has saved them.
Battletech A Game Of Armored Combat has record sheet for Griffin but does not have the plastic miniature, only punched one. So I ordered the beginner box. I do not mind having extra docs, pilot cards and extra maps.
Admittedly this vid was from 2019 but I just ordered the beginner box for $47 Australian. Pricey for the content but a good start for refreshing a Battletech collection that started in the 80's
for you and me who have likely read most these rule books 2-5 times it's easy to want more.. but battletech has alot to it even compared to most tabletops wich teaching somone tabletop wargaming at its most basic can be hard. i was the only one into these things in my groups growing up.. so i had to teach all the newbies and supply 80% the minis. so got alot of exp in teaching new players.. was expensive supplying enough models for lots of factions and being the only painter was even harder >.< but the things we do to enjoy our hobbies.
I'm undecided on whether to get these 2 x box sets yet...I'm still feeling the burn from the last set of plastic miniatures they put out...I wish they'd do a super high quality (a la GW quality) hard plastic kits for all the mechs....
If I could do it all again, 2 boxes are more than enough. Anymore and you’re being greedy. And I was greedy with four. As for the GW level of quality, I’d like that too but CGL isn’t a Miniatures company.
It's good times for mech lovers! Took the new plastic out for a test run this weekend and got an ironfist right in the cockpit of my Thunderbolt! I got both boxes and am looking to flesh out my Kurita and Davion forces and came up whith the following list. What do you think, fluff-wise? KURITA: Locust, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Awesome, Catapult DAVION: Commando, Wolverine,x2, Thunderbolt, Battlemaster
I'm not sure how I'm going to split the difference, but I want to paint up a Kurita and Liao Lance. PS: Why you booing Liao? The Combine and Confederation are allies! 🐲🐉🏯⛩
@@dubuyajay9964 The Mighty Draconis Combine needs no allies. ;) House Liao and Marik are my favorite punching bags when it comes to BattleTech lore. I love to hate on them ;)
On the "Attack Modifiers Table" I didn't see "JUMPING / +1 ADDITIONAL" for Target: (modifiers are cumulative) We played a whole game without realizing we missed that rule. When target jumped 5 hexes, we only applied the +2 for moving 5-6 hexes. We would have added another +1 for the jump if it was on the Table.
BattleTech and Alpha Strike are games where its easy to miss or incorrectly the modifiers since in some cases there are waaaaaaay too many. I tend not to get too upset over that kind of stuff.
According to currency exchange rates that’s 22 bucks USD. I sincerely hope that the ASD price is fair in comparison to other products out there in the tabletop world.
Finally found a shop that imports Battle Tech, so I ordered the beginners box. Yay!!
Get you some!!! That’s super awesome man!

I'd be paranoid about ruining them through normal use.
Get a piece of foam core, glue the paper map to it (think wall paper) add two large grommets to the top and you can hang them on the wall out the way.
Great idea!

Just ordered one after watching this review, looking forward to painting these up.
Awesome! Hopefully it brings you a lot of fun!
Wish this was available where I live
FLGS won’t carry it or your country doesn’t have a distributor? Either way that sucks man :(
The black and red scheme from the box art is that kurita or kell hounds?
Kurita. If you zoom in on the art, the word Kurita is spelled out in Hiragana. くりた
Great video, love those microset and microsol solutions for decals.
Thank you! I love those products. Much easier to get the decals placed and sealed with them.
Great tutorial! Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you! I want to do more Tutorials but I'm never happy with how I shoot them.
I have been waiting for this. Can't wait for mine
It’s worth it. Good price point and a perfect demo kit to loop friends into the game

It's good value for starting or getting refreshed. Thanks for watching!
You said "go flame me". Sorry I am piloting a mech without flamers now. LOL!
you gona review the other box set? i was interested in picking one up be great if you did. And as always great to see some more BT content on youtube
Oh you’re 100% correct why a 3025 box makes sense. I’m just never happy with anything :)

This is definitely inspiring me to get an air brush
My luck with 3D printers and Air Brushes is terrible. Hopefully if you take the plunge, it works for you!
@@ProbableKoz Any suggestion of thing to avoid with airbrushes?
I didn't see the character cards in my Beginner Box. Only the regular mech cards. ☹ Good thing I ordered both box sets.
Wha?!?! The cards weren't in your box set? I'd reach out to Catalyst Customer Service!

Do you have a link for the airbrush?
Sorry for the late reply, but I think it's this one:

Seems very close to what I'll be doing with my box sets. Except one Wolverine will go Kurita and the Locust will go to my Mercs :D

Next time when you zenithal under Red, you want to use Brown shades for your zenithal, just because red doesn't apply well to black.
Sweet! Thank you! It's something new I wanted to try out this year and every tip helps!
My FLAMES of WAR British going to have reinforcements to battle the Germans!
Mechs look good
Thank you!
