That idea of cutting off bottom section of Sawyer bag to scoop in low/slow water sources was genius! I’ve been carrying a cut off bottom of a Smart Water bottle…which while light, is awkward to pack. Easier is your idea….folds flat. Nice idea.

These are some great ideas. You seem rather new having only 3 subscribers. You had my attention with the sawyer mods. I could eliminate my blue threaded fitting I got and just use the spout. @@rootsontrail thanks! They're all mostly hiking videos from the Northeast and one from New York. Branching out and doing some hiking in North Carolina this summer while we are down to visit my cousin in Asheville.
You had some great ideas. Had you ever tried or considered adding some sort of screening to the funnel to catch larger particles that may plug-up the filter itself and deal with it before it gets into the bag.

The coupler is no longer available on Amazon. I checked the Sawyer website and it isn't there either. Any ideas on where else I can find one? I was thinking of using superglue to glue the two caps from the Sawyer collection bags together, sealing with silicone, and drilling a hole through them.
Thanks for the feedback. I had no idea Amazon stopped carrying them. I like your diy idea. I have seen other people use a “tornado tube” which you can find on Amazon, but I can speak to the size/fit. I know a couple of the people using the longer ones had to cut them down a bit to get a good fit.
