Bike-Backpacking Overnight

- Just as an adventure I packed up what I would need for a solo overnight and some trail work (plus the filming) and put it on my back for a bike ride out to some property my family has a couple of miles away. I spent the night before biking back the next morning, just barely beating the rain home. A few lessons learned generally about my gear from from this trip, plus that I don’t want to bike with basically a hiking backpack setup.

When you're clearing out the windfalls, it makes you think differently about where to set up a tent! Nice, minimalist kit.
You might want to consider a light hand saw. That axe on the bouncy sapling is a big energy expenditure. Looks like a fun trip. Thanks for the content. Inspiring!

What is the gadget called you place around your cooking fire as a wind break?
I am not sure it has a specific name, I would just call it a wind shield. Its not just to prevent the wind from interfering with the flames of the stove, but also (along with the sheet that I place the stove on, not visible) reflect at least some of the radiant portion heat back to the pot.
