  • Breaking Barriers: Finding Joy Within | The Michael Singer Podcast
There are two very different approaches to achieving a beautiful, love-filled life. The first is externally focused-seeking joy, love, and peace through outside circumstances, people, or actions. The second is inward, asking why these very natural states are blocked internally and taking responsibility for removing those blockages. Love and joy are inherent to everyone but are obscured by stored emotional pain, fears, and responses conditioned by past experiences. By letting go of these internal blockages and facing life’s challenges with openness rather than resistance, you can cultivate love and inner freedom as your unconditional state of being.

Michael is either a saint, or such a considerate & compassionate partner, he's everyone's dream spouse!😅 It's true that fear is at the root of all negative feelings - hate, anger, frustration or resisting what others think would bring a conflict-free life, but excavating the fear under frustration, anger etc is difficult, in marriage at any rate. What is so wrong with wanting a tidy space, but constantly having to ask for your spouse's/ family's co-operation? If it were a business & as an employee, you ignore repeatedly, your boss's directives, you'd get fired. Are new jobs really that easier to find than a new spouse? I really wish Micky'd been around writing this wisdom, because then I'd have realised living on one's own, with his skills, is far better for all of us. We can all go home alone, after work or social interaction & re-charge. Life without fear-based conflict is the point he's making, but it's really where Nirvana is, in a marriage at any rate.

As much as I love what he says, I would really appreciate a transcript. Unfortunately, I can't stand the tone of voice-it sounds so condescending as if he were scolding a misbehaving child. On top of that, he sounds so tense, as if he were saying the most beautiful words but in a highly agitated state. It’s harsh on my ears. The reprimanding tone and tension wouldn’t come through reading, though. I hope these videos will have transcripts someday. ❤
    Update:
Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I like the “absurdity”perspective very much. My comment came from a place of curiosity and little bit of frustration about not being able to listen. Of course I will give it another try and another try..! His words had a huge impact on me on some of my darkest nights. Maybe I just calmed down over the years and don’t need to get called out that much. I’m glad he still shares his wisdom.

I used to think the same thing about Michael, but then I had an initial kensho awakening and I now hear him in a completely different way. His tone is coming from the absurdity of life and our interactions. I hope you revisit him someday after you have grown some more because his teachings are helpful…with ears to listen as they say.
