I am wearing it right now. Sure, I can't see it in a dim light but I like the look so much I don't mind living with it's cons. I've developed the muscle memory to press the light everytime I look at the time sometimes I do it in daylight haha
Right! Same here: I still wear it even if it's hard to read and I too have developed this reflex of pressing the light button to see the time clearly.
A bit like the very first digital Pulsar watches with a LED display that you had to activate to see the time (and whose batteries lasted just a few days). And still they were so cool! Thanks for this comment!
I always liked these watches. They remind me of old school sci-fi movies which I love👌👌
Yeah, many Casios, and negative Casios even more so, definitively have the sci-fi vibe! Thanks for this comment!
I’ve been looking at the W800 as my next possible edc watch purchase. With my poor eyesight I think I’ll skip the negative display although it does look cool 😎. Great review as always!
The W-800H is a great watch: excellent value for the price! However this negative version, despite being cool, is really hard to read.
If I were to buy a W-800H now I’d go for the brown version!
Thanks for this comment!!!
Baby Yoda is back!
A nice review and good to see the comparisons with the other casios you have there, I like the W-800
It reminds me of the W-96
It's a watch I do need!
Thank you, thumbs up
Yes, it does remind me of the W-96 too: functions are similar and the proportions seem similar too. And... the W-96 is another cheap Casio I want/albeitIdon'tneedit to get.
Thanks for commenting!
@WUDN-WatchUDontNeed nice, actually I found a discarded W-96 recently, not working and did a restoration video on it, not professional but it was fun,
It will be published in the next few weeks
Restoration videos are my favorite!!! Looking forward to it!!!
The green-on-black light is legitimately beautiful. You can keep the rest of it.
Oh, I do agree!
I try to force myself to wear this watch every so often, but I guess it's more suitable for summer, when days are longer, so I can actually see the time during the waking hours...
Thanks for commenting!
I wish there was a completely black version, but with a positive display. The only thing I don't like about the normal version is the use of blue and red on the display.
Thanks for the video!
Oh, if there was such a version, I'd get one stat! The "original" W-800H has those blue and red accents that are quite unobtrusive and that denote a relationship with the F-91, in line with an aesthetic Casio tradition, but still, all-black would be very cool!
Thanks for this comment!
Another Casio with a negative display you can't read. Just what we needed. The ONLY negative display I've seen that isn't awful is the MIP display. I own one and it is good...but still not great. I'll stick with positive displays.
Agree! The MIPs are really cool displays, and they’re generally used on cool watches (the GPR-H1000, for example, is very interesting)! But “regular “ negatives just don’t cut it for me…
Thanks for this comment!!!
Casio watches with a negative display are beautiful but you can't read anything in sunlight, only at night.
Greetings from Brazil. 🟢🟡
@@SilvioSouza-tz6dt yes, they are cool, but so difficult to read! Muito obrigado for your comment!!!
@@WUDN-WatchUDontNeed : I like Casio watches. I have the DW-5600 (G-Shock), W218 and AE-1500WH models, all with a positive display.
NOTE: It already exists with a negative display on the W218 model.
@@SilvioSouza-tz6dt I love the square g-shock! The ae-1500 is awesome, but unfortunately it’s too big for my small wrist. I’m not so sure about the w-218: I saw some reviews, but I prefer the w-219, which I think is the same, only round!
Thanks for this comment!!!
Wow you weren't kidding... I can hardly see the display. I love the W800 but this one is not for me sadly...😭
I so wish it would be better. I would really like to like this watch more, but it’s just not visible enough.
I’ve see many reviews online and it did look cool (it still does) . Casio quality is a guarantee, but… legibility ain’t! Thanks for this comment!!!
@@WUDN-WatchUDontNeed Yeah you are right. Isn't there a filter that you can put in to polarize it to turn the display more visible? like turn the polarizer 90' or something.?
@@johanvandersandt8904 as a matter of fact, I have recently received an adhesive polarizing screen that I have bought to try to do a better job with the Casio DW290. I will try it for sure! Thank you for the idea!

Thank you!!!
Are the LED lights the same when seen by the eye and on the camera? Mine is a bit yellowish on the eyes, but green on the camera.
Hi there! As far as I can tell, mine are green. It's a light green, but still green. Thanks for this comment!!!
Italians always point out features with a spiedini.
HAHAHA! Right: this one in particular was mutton (before being used to point at watch parts). Thanks for this comment!

Thanks for this comment (even though I don't get the reference)!
you have to put on your wrist and tell your wrist size.
You can find wrist shots with measurements here (3’30”)
