Stanford and Yale have conducted large scale randomized studies on mask effectiveness. They found that there is about a 10% reduction in Covid infections if masks are worn. So, if 20 out of 100 people get Covid without masks, then with masks only 18 would. But wait, there's more! This was for surgical masks. With cloth masks (which 99% of people wore during the pandemic, the effecacy was only 5%. Meaning, if say, 20 out of 100 people got Covid normally, then with masks, 19 of out the 20 still would. Cloth masks basically did very little to combat Covid. The mental health effects of isolation and never seeing people face to face probably outweigh the minimal improvement in infection rates provided by cloth masks. Again. When I saw the notification I was so sure that they were going to have Jeremy do this but it’s so amazing to see Chris get the chance to speak at a more normal pace, now they make videos that are more than 5 minutes 😂 there’s just too much to talk about for those kind of restrictions!
It had to be Chris. I think I've seen the original forty times 🤣
Feels really weird to me. It's like watching a knock-off channel copying the cinema sins format, even though it's 100% legit. I DON'T LIKE CHAAAAANGE 🤣
@@ACWells13 agreed. This is worse than that time Peter took apart Stewie’s room to make his own tree house 🏡
@Why do you try? lmao gatekeeping a youtube channel? Who cares if they are new. Jeremy does most of the videos, doesn't take a genius to figure out it comes as a surprise (not a bad one though) that Chris does a video instead.
@@ACWells13 You got that right. It's taken them years to get the pace and delivery to make these vids enjoyable. Going back is never a good thing. Sorry Chris, but you aren't in the same league as Jeremy.
Honestly given the reaction to masking there was during quarantine I'm totally willing to believe these people took off their helmets on the unexplored alien planet
Excellent point 😂

Crazy how UA-cam won’t let people respond to this comment
Again. These are studies by Yale and Stanford. Aside from Harvard, they are the most prestigious colleges in the world.
God damn, this re-sin was fucking savage. This is the first sins video I've seen since the F9 video that I can't be mad at. That is, you took the time with the sins and pointed out legitimate ones pretty much the entire way through.
'I am surrounded by idiots!' David seemed genuinely worried and totally lost there.
I'm so glad you made this longer!
26:54 Your videos make me smile, chuckle and laugh sometimes, but the Data sound overlay made me laugh some much, that I knocked my coffee off my desk. You are a genius!
Hmmm makes sense if David chose the crew it would mean people unable to work together with sup par skills were purposefully chosen to fail. Would make David even more unsettling.

Notice how the earth looks exactly like Earth today, rather than Earth from whenever Engineers created human life.
Not sure if it's a sin or not, but I think that's interesting and has some implications. Does it mean they have been secretly mapping us all this time or something ?
You are correct... its strange not many have noticed this but they couldnt have this model of earth... the vfx guys forgot about plate tectonics.
The "Old Spice" jingle f**king killed me. 🤣
I come back to this once a month to hear you say, “HE IS LOOKING RIGHT AT THE GLASS!”
27:15 "Please state the nature of the medical emergency." LOL. The Doctor was my favorite character from Voyager.
When this movie was announce to be released I was so excited. My son in law took me to the theater, ( my daughter didn't like Alien) I was so happy to be seeing this. When we left the theater I felt robbed. This was a huge piece of shit. The visuals was great but the storyline sucked. When will writers understand there will never be an answer for the unexplained?
I'm glad you're finally lengthening up the old sin counts and I'm glad my comment about the founding members of the Prometheus school of running away from things was finally answered in this It's only been a year or more since I made that comment.!!!
Never knew how much I wanted Chris to narrate until right now
His voice is so goooood 🥰
I don't know if Chris did the writing too, but this is one of the funniest in a long time. Love all the references and the comedic timing is spot on.
@@sharkieshablm2640 Im not a nazi! Whats wrong with you? Leave me alone!
Geez...
Sorry but I can't listen to these videos without Jeremy
surprised you didn't sin David shining a flashlight at a HOLOGRAM to see it better...
This is the most passionate sin reading I have heard, and all the better for it.
The cut scenes of the life probes and dory at the end got me so good 😂
My main reaction is: holy fuck , already 10 years!? Time does fly!
If you're continually walking to someone who's holding a flamethrower and you know they're willing to use it, and they're telling you to back off that's suicide.
Nope. That still counts as murder.
@@999SickBoy666 Nope. It’s standing your ground and considered self-defense. Just because you take a life doesn’t mean it’s murder. Murder is the unlawful premeditated killing of a person, killing them when you feel threatened and have warned them to stay back isn’t murder unless you planned for the encounter to play out specifically that way.
I AM SO HAPPY THAT THEY STARTED IT WITH THANKING THE MOVIE FOR STARTING THAT SIN.
I would like to appreciate my gratitude for that as well.
*and is that a different guy doing the sinning?*
It’s Chris, the other founder of CinemaSins
10 years since it came out?…. Holy fuck I’m old
YOU’RE old? I remember seeing the original Alien film on it’s release back in ‘79!
@@AtheistOrphan shush I’m having my midlife crisis early xD
I didn’t see it in theaters on its original release. I was a Month old 😮
Talking about Alien, not Promethious
i watched this movie on lsd with a friend and we cried through the whole thing, so beautiful.
Ig acid really does make u rtarded
10 years???? I remember seeing the original vid in my recommended list, I was 15 years old that’s insane
I think it was only the 4th Sins video they'd done at that point and the only one not narrated by Jeremy.
I really hope u keep doing this even after 10 years. So many great old movies in.... dated, videos
Now after watching this again, I'm glad shaw was tortured and killed off-screen between 2 movies. Good job David.
It's such a tiny part of this video but Fk I love that " did u see what god just did to us man?"
Best movie ever.
Now that needs a sin in
Had to speed this up to 1.5x so I didn’t feel so lost, confused, and betrayed without Jeremy
Yeah Idris Elba him and his crew went out like some soldiers. If you think the bet's off you have another thing coming. You can pay me on the other side.
Anyone else (for no real reason at all) not enjoy them as much when this guys doing the sinning?
I remember that I watched the other video a couple hours after when it first came out 10 years ago. Wow.
I always loved the fact that the geologist with the cool 3D mapping pods ‘got lost’.
Popped onto UA-cam and this is the first thing I see. Started dying laughing because this movie has inspired one of the longest running jokes in CinemaSins history and here it is again. And I am totally freakin here for it. We applaud you!
Yes... it is indeed- a running joke.
@andyjacobs7010 Lol this is gold 😂
I use the saying “Prometheus school of running away from things” in everyday life and ppl just stare
FIRST thing I thought of when coming back for this 10th Anniversary sinn'n (Prometheus School of Running Away). Fifteen billion square acres around and swear I shouted this at my cat just last week refusing to get out of wheelbarrow path AND SURE I shouted this at everything from Ring Necked Pheasants to rabbits to cattle, all honorable graduates! Was nature long before CinemaSins but damn if youse didn't define it and forever turn frustration into a laugh. "JUST GO TO THE SIDE!"
I came back to this to feed my CinemaSins nostalgia fix, and stayed just to show love to Chris' work as the narrator that I don't see enough other people showing here.
I can't believe you didn't sin the fact that they're debrief about the mission after months or years of traveling. And here I am convinced to not move a single muscle to go out with friends until they tell me where we're actually having dinner.
They started the conversation just before hopping in the stasis pods and 1000 years later continue it as if no time has passed.
They're being briefed, not debriefed. Debriefs happen after the mission or project is complete.
Not me only noticing that David put a finger in Holloway’s drink. I’ve been wreaking my brain trying to figure out how he got infected.
Your end credits always make me smile! Thanks CS!
"soft boiled egg buttons" I'm wheezing cause I choked on my tea 🤣💀🤣
YESSS! I enjoy Jeremy as the narrator but I’m glad it’s Chris for this one it wouldn’t make sense other wise. 😂
Oh fuck YES, I wrote on another video that they better do Prometheus! Thank you CS, I love you guys ❤️❤️❤️
Forgot to cover theory that Doctor Elizabeth Shaw knew everything and more about the aliens because she's actually the former companion of The Doctor. 🤔
i am glad that i can attend the anniversary of The Prometheus school of running away from things
gotta put it in my CV
I still quote "the Prometheus school of running away from things" on a regular occasion, it's just so damn applicable to both media and real life xD
Laughed so much when you said the scientists were ‘on a mission from god’ and the blues bros popped up 👏
Everything Wrong With Free Bird (2013) for Thanksgiving.
Or Thankskilling
It’s the movie where they go back in time to the first thanksgiving to get turkey off the menu.
