In a show full of great moments, this is the scene that really stood out to me. How can something look and sound so human and is yet so obviously anything but? What an underrated gem of a show. I only discovered it by happenstance but I'm glad I did.
I love how El Cuco had the cultural awareness, and cheekiness to co-opt a phrase like "will the real ___ please stand up." Even in all his demonic depravity, he still managed to be an absorber of pop culture.
I wasn’t referring to the Eminem song. I’m well aware that it predates Eminem, but it’s a pop cultural reference nonetheless. And it’s funny either way, whether this line is true to the original text or not. It’s just a funny liberty taken with the character that implies at least some awareness of the culture around him.
One refreshing factor with The Outsider's approach of a villainous Eldritch Abomination is having granted it humanlike characteristics: In contrast to Pennywise, another Eldritch Abomination, who does effort the expected exertion of a human's mannerisms and speech, El Cuco remains capable enough to manage it with ease, With arms full of roses, thank you, Paddy, for your marvelous performance,
Paddy Considine was amazing in this. Claude sounds like a normal, friendly hayseed, but El Cuco sounds like the fucking devil himself. Despite having the same voice and appearance.
More or less, yeah. Same universe too. But pennywise existed before the Big Bang and the creation of the universe. He's the alpha and omega of these creatures so to speak. I wouldn't be surprised if King ends up writing a novel or series that explains or at least alludes to pennhwise somehow seeding the population of transformative demons like El Cuco in The Outsider and the Newscaster in the sequel If It Bleeds that Holly Gibney discovers. They all are cut from the same cloth and have the same habits, manurisms, traits, desires, tastes, and arrogant psychopathy.
Never understood the hatred with S2 of True Detective. I absolutely loved it and in a lot of ways, I hold it in higher esteem than S3. That last season fizzled the ending. It just wasn't good.

Kinda like Jesus in "The Chosen" but he is the son of God

That saying has been around waaaaay before that stupid eminem song. Also, in the book he never says that.

@@forrestgray3528 in the book he does not say that

Makes sense that El Cuco would know about pop culture. Keep in mind, it gets the memories and knowledge of whoever it becomes.
“There have been times when I…sensed others” probably brushed up against Pennywise and the Crimson King
And Tak, Perce, the Library Policeman, Dandelo and so go on
"They give off such a Glow"
Wait don't you mean 'SHINE'!???
lol
Almost didnt catch that the first time watching this. Would make sense though considering this is a Stephen King creation.

Yes I love that part so creepy
I honestly wish it had answered her questions just for clarity

@@alhusseinfarah4194 I dont like à book .
@@steve.gimmortan8296 yeah the ending was straight out bad, the way they explained el-cuco was extremely disappointing.
@@alhusseinfarah4194 no one wants to read we want the visual...and yes every book is better
@@JB-mb6lm That was me before but now I'm much more into books and source material in general.
What a great show
Does anyone see a similarity between El Cuco and Randall Flagg from The Stand?
None
I haven't finished it yet but from where I'm at so far, yeah... a bit. I'll update when I'm done.
Thanks for drawing the parallel
El Cuco, Pennywise and Dandelo are all psychic vampires, whereas Randall Flagg is a dark sorceror.
Viserys can't catch a break.
Make the clip smaller I can almost see it
" cuz they taste the sweetest "
... is El Cuco from Todash space like Robert Gray???
I don't think so. I think these are spawn of pennywise.
Paddy Constantine is just the best man
So El Cuco Is basically of the same species as Pennywise right?
They feed same fear but pennywise can transform which we fear.

@Fhcr no he feeds on fear too 100%
@dedangdegenerate just like PW
Geralt would eat this things liver. It is totally a Hym and a tricky thing to beat.
Thought the same. Throw the baby in the oven!
“Vessimir, get the silver sword.”
Love shows like this and s1/3 of true detective.
Season 2 if TD is also amazing. Btw check out The Night Of, as well as Sharp Objects.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 thanks for the recommendations, those shows look interesting.
@@FirstMetalHamster the Night Of was amazing. One of HBO's best. I cobsider it a lost "season 2.5" of True Detective.
Funny how the director of the first True Detective season was going to direct IT before Andy Muschietti.

The book is actually sooo much better
Agreed, The Outsider was the first Stephen King book I've read.
What’s up your grace
In the book, Holly kills the Outsider.
El Cuco listens to Eminem
That saying has been around waaay before that stupid slim shady song
And you cancel this incredible series ? You renew a male porn show White Lotus ? HBO is all messed up
