@@justinpulu3984 Thank you for your reply. The spring was ok but the metal "door" (attached to the spring) that moves out to unlatch the moving sleeve was sticking on the sides. I cleaned (compressed air) & oiled (wd40) it; It's working now but I'm not sure for how long. I just hope we don't have a power problem and need to release the door. Fingers crossed.

My safety release does not disengage when I pull it! Genie 2024. I have no idea why. I have taken it apart and can’t find out why.
I have the same problem with the same model number. Did you find a solution?
@@bobcowen yes!!! there was a spring on the release misaligned.
