    The hart family knew him well and know what is personality was like. In dark side of the ring it mentioned a restraining order against him but no reason why. A history of domestic violence often turns deadly. There is nothing ok with domestic violence because it causes irreparable harm. That was an honest and candid interview.

    Here's my take on Benoit:
    He gets forgiven easily, because he was loved by fans. Wrestling fans forgive anything, sadly.
    Benoit had a history of domestic incidents with Nancy. They fought constantly. Like most domestic murders, it was another fight that went a step to far. Benoit never meant to kill his wife, but when he did he lost it. He felt extreme guilt, and obviously wouldn't want to face the consequences. Hence why he killed his son, then himself.
    Did he have CTE, yes. But, you can't discount the history of problems he and Nancy were having. They got physical before, she had to stay at friends' houses before because they were fighting, and the day the murder occurred, Benoit told Bob Holly, "She's acting like Hitler again..." It was not a healthy marriage.
    His brain damage can't be held 100% responsible. There is no way he could navigate a WWE travel schedule, appearances, motel/car rentals, and operate as one of the best wrestlers on the planet if he had the brain of an 80 years old, Alzheimer patient.
    I think it was typical case of domestic violence that escalated out of control and ended the worst way. Which should be talked about more, to spread awareness of the problem.

    It seems like everyone has admitted that Benoit did it except for the smarks. The smarks always make excuses and trying to prove his "innocence". He was a great wrestler, no doubt about it ,but like Stone Cold says, anything he did the last few days tarnish his legacy and almost destroyed the wrestling business. And that is why he'll never be in the HOF. In fact, I would argue that his action was one of the main causes of the PG era.

    • @thickerconstrictor9037
      @thickerconstrictor9037 6 років тому +4

      RateDTD it's not even just that, they are trying to find a reason as to why he did it. There are people who murder people all the time and it's not because of CTE is not because of depression. Shit just happens if it goes down and people get murdered. Is every double murder suicide because of something like CTE? Of course not. But people have to try to explain it so it doesn't sound so much like his fault. Did CTE play a part? I do absolutely believe that. It likely caused depression and mixed with his personality and other issues it could have played a huge role. But it's not like oh he has CTE so that's why you did it. It was probably a cocktail of a lot of things. He seemed to have a very bad temper, and while I don't in any way shape or form blame steroids because I know probably a hundred guys on steroids and this was not steroid related, it can have an effect on your hormones and depression and stuff like that so if you mix that in as well as well as how he was then you have a recipe for disaster. People just try to justify it or explain it when in reality CTE or not the dude killed his family and he's a scumbag.

      @@mdown203 Lmao. Stop with the Kevin Sullivan bullshit. On the 2016 Talk is Jericho podcast, Nancy's sister Sandra Toffoloni clarified some details further. She said that over the weekend after the murders, the search history on Benoit's computer showed he had researched "the quickest and easiest way to break a neck". He had then later used a towel around his neck attached to the handle of the machine, which he pulled down using a very heavy weight and let go, breaking his neck instantly.

    makes more sense watching the sid interview he put it into context, it wasnt just a 'random act' he went from champion, to working smackdown then to ecw it was a demotion for him, a guy so emotionally attached to the biz like him, it was a volatile mixture, much like eddie when he went from champ to tag champ to working with rey, which I'm sure he loved, but it wasnt main event level

    Aside from what Bulldog said, people should be forgiven for the most heinous of acts. If we don’t forgive, we don’t get forgiven, simple as that.
    ““For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matt 6:14-15.

    I am a retired healthcare worker. I worked with both geriatric(many of whom had dementia and/or Alzheimers) and developmentally disabled adults, from ages 18 to 90+. It is absolutely plausible that Benoit snapped due to traumatic brain injury, especially in light of his post mortem brain analysis. Where were the virtually rabid news reporters who jumped on the ridiculous "'roid rage" bandwagon when the medical results were announced? You know, SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE, not sensationalistic ratings bait? Our knowledge of how the brain works, what causes various types of cognitive degeneration, etc., is very small, and when you throw in trauma-based injury, it muddies the water even more... My own grandfather had early signs of Alzheimers when he went into the hospital for heart surgery - he was never the same. He became very paranoid, didn't recognize my mother, his daughter. How can seemingly similar circumstances affect people in completely different ways? One can experience several concussions and not be any worse(as far as anyone can tell), yet someone else can get A SINGLE concussion and never be the same. I myself had 2 back surgeries 3 days apart and due to being under anesthesia for so many hours in such a short time span, my brain was not right... I used to devour books in a day or two, yet after the surgeries, I could not read more than a few pages at a time UNTIL A YEAR LATER. And I was under medical supervision in a controlled environment the whole time... now contrast that with a hard touring pro-wrestler getting punched, kicked in the head, smashed with chairs, enduring DDTS and piledrivers and those diving headbutts for 20 years straight! It's more a matter of how could you NOT have brain damage?! And how will that affect YOU? And in what way? Will you sit in the corner in a puddle of your own waste eating your hair? Or will you just sit in the chair staring out the window and never talk again?(I took care of patients exactly like this) Or will you think people are following you and are out to get you, so you have your driver take multiple routes from the airport to your home? Chris Benoit did this prior to that tragic weekend...

    These stories in professional wrestling like Bruiser Brody's death/murder and people getting away with it etc ought to have documentary makers salivating to cover. Chris Nowinski's expertise, and the lot would bring more knowledge and closure to these awful, tragic cases. The speculation can truly be endless with Chris Benoit's decision to murder his child even if the Nancy death were an accident somehow. Himself after causing her death is one thing, but completing the act on his child before himself well after it had to have been easier of course just wow

    One thing that he says that is completely inaccurate at around 5:00-5:15 is that it takes 2 minutes to choke a person out. Not so. They'd be dead by 30 seconds a lot of the time. Once the carotid artery is cut off a person can be sleep and obtaining brain damage as quickly as 8-10 seconds.

    Plenty of people have brain damage and don't kill anyone.

    That's actually The British Bulldog's son who was David Hart Smith in WWE about a decade ago. As for Benoit it was likely a combination of Steroids, Concussions, Prescription Drugs (for Depression and Anxiety possibly) and throw alcohol into the mix as well and that is a nasty combo. But on top of that Chris and Nancy likely had serious marital problems that no one else knows about and you should not judge his actions until you've gone through the exact same thing as he did.

    • @apocalypticrevelations7099
      @apocalypticrevelations7099 4 роки тому

      And this is just speculation and theory but maybe Benoit didn't plan on killing Nancy and it was just an argument that got way out of control and he just snapped. Then perhaps when he realized what he had done and knew he was either going to jail for life or he'd have to kill himself he figured who would raise their son Daniel then? So with the religious bible brainwashing he was into at the time maybe he figured they'd all go to heaven together.
