I don't like how Meredith is constantly treating Nick. She's mean to him so often and then she apologizes, he accepts and everything start again. Mer seems like a teenager.
It was the same song and dance with Derek, Meredith has had zero emotional and mental growth when it comes to relationships. She acts like she’s constantly alone and she pushes people away until she is alone.
My personal opinion, is she has been through so much trauma in her life that she feels like she’s alone, but she’s not, I think her big trauma was losing Derek and maybe she’s not over it completely I don’t know but she’s been through so much I think without realizing it she goes into that flight or flight mode because she's so used to doing this alone all the time, that’s my own theory, but everyone has their own opinion and interprets it differently 😊
@@CescaRose-ld7hl I agree with you. The love of her life whom she hoped to have kids, be a life partner, and grew old with died in his prime because of tragedy and medical mistake. She took a risk that she’s never taken to open up with a man and had a relationship and that was taken away prematurely from her. Now, she’s got a man who wants to be with her despite her misgivings and she must be afraid what happened to Derek will also happen to him. Then there’s the fact that her kid was undergoing surgery. Being a doctor knowing what’s wrong and the science and the possible complications that her kid might have must have scared her to death. And then there’s the fact she was busy in Seattle doing research and left her kids and one of them got sick and she wasn’t there, the guilt must be eating her alive. We do all sort of things when we were afraid and guilty.
Amen, girl! She needs to grow up

She was never alone, what a hypocrite. She had help from everyone. They say she didnt become hard but yes, she did.
read into the mental load, you‘re gonna love it! Even with help, being a single parent is still hard as hell and you are alone a lot of the time.

I’m sorry, but when she makes a comment about how she’s been doing it alone I got pissed. She has never done it alone, never been a single mom who had no one to depend on. She lived with Amelia, Maggie, Alex was there until he left, all the other docs from the hospital would step up, and Nick was there taking care of them. She has never had to figure it out, have a sick kid, rent overdue, and no one to help. I’m raising my special needs son completely alone while dealing with GI failure, dependent on IV nutrition. My best friend has a 13 yr old with two tumors in his head, he is on oral chemo, has major tummy issues that have him on a feeding tube, he has to be at the hospital for appts, infusions, and sometimes surprise admissions. Her daughter is 9yrs old with severe asthma, to the point she was just admitted last week, and she has adhd that makes most sitters not willing to help. She does it completely alone. Meredith Grey is not some homage to the single mom. Even when she had Derrick they were always freaking out about the kids and they had 24 hr daycare at the hospital. It just gets frustrating when you have this rich lady with all the help from friends and a nanny talking about she’s been doing it alone. It’s really lonely when you have a child having an autism meltdown at 3 in the morning and no one to help you through it. There is no help really available. My son was approved for respite years ago because I’m sick, but we’ve not been able to find anyone to come do not, I live in fear everyday that I will get an infection and have to go to the hospital and won’t have anyone to help. Being a single parent is exhausting and very lonely. You have to be in top of it 24/7 because no one will do it for you.
All that is understandable but being a single parent is still a single parent despite having babysitters. Babysitters aren't coparents
@@sumaiyahisselmou9703yeah but Amelia, Maggie, and everyone else were more than simply babysitters. They were a community and support system she could lean on. She wasn’t doing it alone because they were there for her and it is a big oversight of Meredith to not acknowledge that.

You gotta heal. Meredith is a wonderful example of “a village,” but please don’t mistake your version of single-parenting as the Only version of single-parenting. Also, this is a television show 🥴
On her own but she can summon help and a private jet in minutes! She’s surrounded by people who can help and are hands on all the time. Please!!
Any woman in her place who would claim that she is alone with so many friends and family around her makes women who raise their children genuinely ALONE laugh and angry! This is not what alone looks like!
Last night I saw a review of this episode and it infuriated me because the way it was written seemed like Meredith that was being a real witch to Nick. I'm glad that they had a mature conversation and Nick spoke his mind because the drama and the back and forth is really getting on nerves of A lot of the fans
Meredith made no progress in her mental and emotional growth, she’s still in the exact same place as she was with Derek - who had the same arguments with her that Nick is going through with her right now.
One thing that got me with this scene is her saying “I’ve been doing this on my own for a long time,” when technically? She hasn’t been, Nicks right, the kids have SO. MANY. PEOPLE. In their corner that would run to them if anything happened to Meredith. And Meredith wasn’t caring for her kids alone for a long time, she had Maggie and Amelia there with her constantly, and it was Maggie and Amelia (mainly Amelia) looking after the kids when Mer had covid.
He is her son and she is worried!! Why is everyone being so mean, she is not use to someone sharing the help and she is still getting use to Nick, and she misses Derek, the love of her life!! Give her a moment to get use to the change, again!!
People are mad that Meredith said that she's been taking care of her kids alone. Amelia and Maggie literally lived with her and helped raise her kids. Bailey, Richard, Cristina Arizona, Callie, April, Jackson, Owen, Alex, Winston . . . the list goes on. Hell, even Catherine helped get her a flight on her private jet to get to Boston.
She’s just scared in this one and she feels guilty. You do a lot of things when you’re scared and guilty. And she’s worried she might be losing her kid; with everything that happened to her, I think it’s just natural. Not acceptable but I can get where she’s coming from. All the men in her life had died or left. Her dad left her; Derek died; DeLuca died too; and of course she’s going to be looking over her shoulder that she will be alone and Nick is not going to be around for long. Not justified but understandable

That was really over the top. I think it's time for this show to end. Re-watching earlier episodes it was so much better. I think about all the wonderful actors who have been on the show - Sandra Oh leaving was a big blow. Chandra Wilson is still the best.
Ellen's acting seemed stilted in this episode. I wonder if they're setting her character up to get dementia/alzheimers?

I live as the Nick in this story and my experience in this situation is you’re never doing it right and you’re the one everyone is angry at. Unfortunately to me it’s not uncommon.

One day I would really like to hear Meredith acknowledge that Richard has been more of her father to her than Thatcher ever was.
She does in some ways, she did once when her and Jackson were talking about Richard when he was sick. They both acknowledged that Richard was their father in every sense of the word and that they both couldn’t lose him.

I really started to not like mer after Derek’s death… I’m sorry but she reminded me just like her mother with the way she became so hard and cold
When Meredith says “alone” she means with a committed partner raising her children. Let’s not be obtuse. The last real relationship, where she planned to raise her kids with someone was Nathan- and that ended abruptly. Even Andrew I think (that season of Greys is a blur lol). She’s not talking about help fe her sisters and friends, she talking about a life partner.

Given that Meredith has had help from everyone, she realistically wasn’t alone. then the love of her life died she had children to take care of and while she had help from everyone around her it doesn’t seem like she didn’t get to grieve in the way she needed too and it’s just a whole lot of built up anger.

Cause, many of us have been in Nicks situation where stopping to call a parent when it could wait till they’re safe at the hospital. He had a set list in his head to follow, care for Bailey, get Zola and Ellis childcare, get Bailey to hospital. When you have a child in pain, you have tunnel vision and you’re only prioritizing the child.
Nick did call Meredith the second he got a chance to, when he knew Bailey was safe and being taken care of. He wasn’t never not going to call her, he just needed to make sure the kids were safe /first/.
I don't feel Nick and Meredith. It will always be Meredith and Derek for me.

@kgrimes842 no she isn’t back, she also technically didn’t complete leave she just stopped being in the show full time big difference.
I used to love Meredith... But it's clear she doesn't want to play this role anymore. Hence Season 6 was a disappointment I'd say..

I don’t like mer and nick together at all she is too good for him she a brilliant doctor and he just holding her back one thing about mer when she was with Derek she never held him back she always encouraged supported and pushed him to be better Nick is always making mer worry about his feelings like she responsible for them he a brown ass man no one is responsible for it but him
