by the way - in round 2 game 3 - the opponent had brainlags sideboarding. he played with 66 cards in his deck and still got the perfect hand 😁

1:04:04 I feel like the best line here was to get rid of both their cards. Refurb into play ancient den hawk back refurb and play refurb again getting rid of both cards in their hand so no dyno next turn. It was just a line I saw and wanted to let u know great vids and thanks for the content!
@@kylehtown yeah, looking back I think I like your line. Cause then we just take 6 and enforce next turn and start attacking in the air

I think you’re correct about inspectors being too slow right now, though I love them. Imo inspectors try and create a slight lull in the game to crack clues but everything is so big right now that spirited companion might just be better as they both probably just chump block.
There’s still a lot of goblins running around though and the second you don’t play inspectors you wish you had the 1/2s.

Have you tried splashing in energy cards like galvanic discharge and jolted awake in this iteration? Kinda curious if it would synergize with the deck.
I haven't tried it yet, I think the only place energy really has a home would be jeskai since you can play the blue cantrip that gives you energy too
I have a very similar list in paper that swaps the Myr Enforcers for Kor Skyfishers. I can’t wait to see how this runs!

I'm with you on the synthesizers. I don't think the mana base is good enough to support it. Fun experiment though!

Great vid as ever! Do you think Boros synth (without mardu) has life in the current meta? Maybe necessary to play bushwhackers and go aggro? I've been looking at jolted awake in it too seeing as it pulls anything back. Would be interested to see your take on that deck
@@biggles829 I think it would be fine, but not one the top decks. I think you’d probably have trouble competing with gleezard, mono red, and ponza.
Not sure exactly the style you’d want to build but my guess is just ‘stock’ with no kuldotha rebirth or bushwhacker
Do you think you'll be playing any more mardu synth decks with familiar? With cards like tithing blade and the "for miroddin" card in place of enforcer
Why no cranial ram and vault skirge. Those two seem good together and in affinity. I think the new cards will make affinity better.

Maybe add like 2 Lightning Bolt for better odds to interact with combo decks?
@@RoyceCCG yeah, playing bolt seems solid. But it actually seems better to me just to be boros synth or Mardu synth and not play myr enforcer
@@SnapBolt I can agree with that. I also wanted to believe in Synth as a mid-to-late-game card advantage engine, but I think some of its strength comes from being able to reasonably drop it on turn 2 and almost always get value. Plus, it's not a good early bounce target for Glint Hawk.

@@andreashk2tm yeah, cast down was another card I considered but tried to keep the deck as lean as possible

i hate to say it, I think myr enforcer is washed.... a free 4/4 on turn 3-4 or a 1 mana 4/4 on 3-4 just is not good enough and is outclassed by to many other creatures in the format right now. maybe that is a hot take... idk.
@@bobsmith-gn7ly I think enforcer is still great in affinity, specifically with blood fountain when you can rebuy them and replay them for 0 mana
@@SnapBolt if you get 3-4 they are good, but it can't keep up with crystalis(sp) that is for sure. a vanilla 4/4 just is not too impressive anymore, terrors are 1-2 mana usually and 5/5 with ward. crystalis comes down on turn 2-3 and is basically 2 mana and a 4/5, if you only have one and of course 2+ is just ridiculous. its good in any mu where its the biggest thing on the board. but those are getting more and more rare i think. like against burn its pretty good if they dont get super wide super fast. I am just thinking "which mu do i want to play it against" and i dont come up with a long list in the current meta. also just dying to galvblast most the time is pretty meh, as that card is almost everywhere. I also think this is why grixis affinity has kinda died out, or at least you dont see it too much anymore, its creatures just get outclassed, esp by crystalis, why that guy gets reach is ridiculous, card is busted.

yeah but its mostly winning through card advantage and flyers. if you get 3-4 enforcers they are still fine. and they churn through their deck. synth is not as good as 3-4 more dispute effects. and 4 flyers, with a bunch of mid ground dudes does not seem like a good recipe for success.
