- You're swimming along, enjoying the freedom of the wide ocean. Your elders have warned you that a massive storm unlike you've seen is blowing through. Some of the others in your tribe mention swimming with the storm and you decide you're going to do the same thing. After being smashed around by huge waves, debris, and winds you awake tangled up in fishing net. You're in a lot of pain, you're injured fairly badly, you can barely speak above a croak much less sing. You try to free yourself when you see a human come walking by, hopefully he's here to help you.

As she curled up in the rocky pool, watching his form receded up towards the lighthouse, she found herself wondering about him. Just exactly what she was wondering, she wasn’t sure. He’d been kind and careful towards her thus far, respecting her space as best he could, making sure she was fed and was healing properly… she was grateful of course but, also slightly confused. She wasn’t about to look a catfish in the mouth though, so she lay there and just, contemplated him. The possible ‘whys’ and ulterior motives swirling around in her head as she drifted off to sleep. She did smile slightly though, thinking maybe she might work of the courage to sing for him, just to sing… she hadn’t just sang something to sing it for a long long time.
Awe, that's really sweet, and definitely one way to look at the song near the end! I wanted to leave it a little open ended on what actually happened.

And it was an odd idea, but it kinda makes sense that the siren might not sing just for singing’s sake (at least not very often-) cause of its predatory nature/use 😄

The ending made me a little nervous for the lighthouse keeper, like are we going to lure you to your demise now that we're feeling better? I hope not! Anyone who treats you to a lobster dinner and rescues you when they first meet you should 100% get a free pass! Loved this audio good job Pingly!

That was definitely the intention with the audio, was supposed to give you the hint that something bad might have happened. But if I put out a part 2 I suppose we'll know for sure!

I've only had lobster once and I'm not sure if it was even real lobster but it was tasty so absolutely agree.
I really enjoyed this! I like to think that when they eventually part ways something will happen where the siren comes to the rescue of the lighthouse keeper, and they reconnect ❤

Hell yeah I've been waiting for this one! Now you have Werewolves, Vampires, Demons and now Sirens whats the next little creature that you will add to your repertoire? Love the ocean sound effects, I find that they help me get lost in the story that you're creating and the siren song on the end was like the cherry on top! Wouldn't mind a part 2 of this if you get around to it, Ill be coming back to listen to this one again for sure!

when I was little I loved playing mermaids in the pool. I once got a chance with my whole girl scout troop to swim with tails. I was the fastest when we raced. yes, we were all like 11 but I'm still proud of that.

I could tell you how you taste~ (probably like chicken. every meat 'tastes like chicken'. although humans are genetically similar to pigs. idk where I was going with this...)
fish don't have ears and sound doesn't travel well underwater, it makes sense for singing to only be used on humans

Hey I hit a ball to the fence in Teeball when I was like 6 and won the game for us. I'm still super proud of that so it's not weird to still have pride in accomplishments no matter how small someone else might see them.
