Best Jewie Session So Far - Port of Brisbane

- Well the odds are getting higher! Took my mate Tony today out to the port for some much needed fresh air. Tony is still recovering from his sugery but was super keen to give the Port a crack despite still having one arm in a sling. We had originally planned the trip for Hinze but seeing the rainy conditions and the predictions of a 7am lowtide we couldn’t help ourselves. It was the perfect combination for those river monsters.
On arriving we wasted no time and shot straight out to the port. Within 30mins I was bricked twice, the fish were huge! First one was probably a cod as it shot straight for the pylons. Second one probably a jew, it took the offer out in the open but slowly dragged me in to the structures. This one was an 80% possible win but unfortunately running 20lb leader I couldn’t put enought hurt on it so fell victim to the dreaded pylon 🤦♂️From then on I managed 3 more jewies, a snapper (released), 2 tailors (1 dropped) and a flattie. I also got wasted a 3rd time🤣🤣🤷♂️ Tony managed a horse of a bream and dropped two unknown.
It was wet and windy today. Despite the conditions we thoroughly enjoyed it. Trips like these are getting a bit uhm well veryyyy addictive 🤣
The local Brother Sonney see you again soon Ive had a distal bicep attached 😅
Hey sonnie i just back into fishing the port hope to see you out there.. i gotta beat my 120cm threadie pb
Awesome mate! One of the reasons I haven’t been uploading much lately was because I’ve been targeting these fish. My success rate hasn’t been very high hence not many videos :)

Hi mate what plastics are you using
Holt Production Swim Prawns 3 to 4 inch
Have you heard, Of anyone receiving a fine for fishing to close to the wharf..
No…just verbal warnings
A great session fellas. Looks like nice conditions despite the rain. You should definitely upgrade your leader to give yourself a chance around those pylons. Looking forward to the next assault on the POB.
Yeah bud, next time doing this I’m going for the 40lb leader… losing way too many big fish
Yeah 💪💪💪. Hey sonny what’s the go with fishing the terminals in regards to when ships come in? Is there a online schedule you can look at or is it basically just wait until the port workers tell you to move on ship incoming? Wanting to hit the port in my kayak
There’s really no time table or anything, just keep 30m away from the terminals thats it. I could really imagine the fun pulling in these fish from a kayak but its way way too dangerous for my liking lol
Fun yes ! When I say thinking about it I been thinking about it for 10 years! Scary 😂
Me too mate. I’ve actually have paddled out there once before but was a rookie back then :)
Another epic session mate
@@sonniesfishingadventuressure you’re 30m away, lol
Great vid mate 💪...what pound line were u running 20 pound braid ?
Thanks mate. Orange rod was running 31lb saltiga 12EX Pe1.5 braid and the new FC Rock 20lb leader. Next time I might try 30 or 40 :)
Nice work
