As a novice admirer of architecture and a transplant from Davenport Iowa who was a contractors son working on Mississippi River mansions, I so love the craftsmanship of this mansion. Now a local of LaSalle-Peru area for 1/4 century this is truly a hidden gem that is a must see. I’m also excited to see the more modern architecture and craftsmanship of the home across the street from the mansion which belonged to a Carus offspring. I’m sure many who visit our splendid parks of Starved Rock area, would detour for this close attraction were it known to them. There are so many attractions to this area.
