      @@vinoto She has a few videos showing. I mix my developer in and just add a little water at a time till the consistency is where I want. It glides through the hair so much better plus it seems to saturate better as well.

    Hi Kristie! Loving your channel!! One of my tips is to weave your section normally and then paint it like a balayage but with full saturation on the ends but a Little more feathered at the root. I paint slants, V’s , w’s etc Also I sometimes tease the woven section and proceed with painting in the foil. Also if your really going for a blurred impression towards the root you can detail your work with the Redken Blur brush😊 and blend it more.

    First off I want to say this is the best video I have seen explaining this!!!...What if my client does not want a shadow root and wants to keep there natural hair color? I see a trend where the initial highlights are applied with not as much care because they plan on solving and blending with shadow root. But how can this look be achieved without shadow root? And if I do use level 7 demi for example doing a shadow root, how long can I expect it to stay on the hair and how will the highlights around the root look after it fades off? Will it start to expose the top of my highlights and show the harsher lines etc? ...also I am really impressed that you care enough to actually reply to all the questions. So many people post a video then never reply. Thank you!

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  3 роки тому

      Hello! I definitely try to get back to every comment cause it really means so much that you guys take the time to subscribe/ comment and watch my videos! Im sure there will be a point I can't get back to everyone and I know id dread that time that comes cause I will go back and double check to make sure I'm not missing anyone and get anxiety about not responding fast enough 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂😂🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
      So I JUST posted a video on back combing the weave, very fine weaves and we didn't have to do a shadow root. Feather up into the roots helps also. If someone wants an ashy root generally it fades warm over time. It's never too harsh tho and fades nicely as time goes by. The longevity really is up to clients and how often they wash, heat, product used. So I never give a time frame I just tell them it will last longer if you do these things : less washing, less colder water, good products.
      Also, I agree about some stylists doing lazy work cause they can cover it with shadow and it makes me cringe!

      Yes I agree , but for someone not comfortable doing balayage yet, doing a foil then rooting it helps create that look. I try not to do a shadow of I don’t have to cause your right... the timing!

    Question! After you add the bleach on the ends, how do you remove the foils to the scalp if they process before the tip outs?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  4 роки тому +1

      I would just be sure to tip out the ends early enough to where that doesn't happen. However in the chance it does, when you bank comb your tip out section, make sure your not grabbing hair that has multiple foil packets in between. That way you can just pull it out without breaking up the ends. Also, if you are truly just painting the ends, you can usually push the hair over, or lift it up a little to pull the foils out without messing up the painted ends. Just towel off the color/ bleach from the foils and it should dry out and stop processing

      Hello! Thank you so much! I appreciate such nice feedback!
      I don't really use shades so I'm not sure what would be a good suggestion.... I know ive used 9p/9t with clear for a really pretty cool blonde. Ive heard lots of gi so maybe adding a tiny amount for brightness. I think your formulation ideas sound great. Good luck! Also, pretty little ombre on Instagram uses shades, so maybe following her for formulations would be good

    Amazing work. New subscriber here. ☺️. Quick question. If someone is a natural level 4. How would you. Go about blending those highlights without darkening them too much? On this girl you used a 7 at root to blend with her natural. I can’t imaging using that same concept right??

    So beautiful!!
    I have a question...
    When you do the root shadow, do you condition the hair after you shampoo the lightener out?
    Whenever I do root shadows I always have a tough time combing through non-conditioned hair, but conditioning makes the demi color harder to penetrate the hair....yes or no?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  4 роки тому +7

      Hello, thank you for your question!
      So when I do a root shadow, I typically always put just a treatment on the ends of the hair, mostly olaplex. That way it helps strengthen the hair and also acts as a barrier incase any of the root color touches where I don't directly want it. I usually always comb my shadows all the way thru the ends so it blends well, and it doesn't deposit too strong because of the barrier. Just softly
