I finished Emily Wilde a few days ago! Definitely a winter read, most of the book is in Scandinavia and there's lots of snow.
I'm reading in it now and I second that!
Oh you would love Piranesi, it’s so mystical and weird
Piranesi is sooooo good!! when i read it, I was mostly just reading bc since I bought it I should finish it but I wasn’t really caring and then it got me hooked and I LOST MY MIND at the plot twist, it immediately became a 5 star read, it’s 100% worth it
ST Gibson's next book is actually An Education in Malice! FF Dark academia vampire retelling of Carmilla and it comes out this month! And I'm another person who's been counting down the days until Silverborn! I cant waiiiiit
I loved Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries and am looking forward to its sequel Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands. 🧝♀️🧝🧚♂️🧚♀️🧚🐶👑
Emily Wilde is also on my tbr. 😊 I got the book last April, read the first few pages and decided that I wanted to save it for autumn/ winter because of the vibes it was giving me...😂 Of course I still haven't read it... I'm also a notorious mood reader. 🙈 Right now I'm about to finish Divine Rivals and I really enjoyed it, even though I still find the role gods play in the worldbuilding a bit odd. But the language is beautiful and the depiction of how the characters deal with grief and slowly fall in love with each other is so good! That's why I shamelessly ordered the sequel and two other books by Rebecca Ross (A River Enchanted/ A Fire Endless). I hope I will like them just as much. I'm looking forward to your upcoming reviews and wish you much joy reading the books on your tbr!☕📚✨
I've been hearing sooo much about Rebecca Ross! I do own a river enchanted.... hmmmm... thank you for watching
Don't let the cover fool you; "Emily Wilde" is set in a very snowy and icy territory, so it's not completely spring vibes XD Also, I think some people weren't expecting it, but it is written like a personal scientific diary (complete with footnotes) so don't go in expecting a narrative fiction style.
I'm really excited for "Faebound" (picked up a copy yesterday), as well as the second Emily Wilde book (I need to order the UK hardback edition).
the cover definitely fooled me haha. and I did expect the personal scientific diary! history of dragons is very similar and I loved that!
Hi Leora! Emily Wilde is actually set during winter (in case you are someone who prefers to read by season). It was wonderful! So was the second book (which came out in mid-January). You are correct that it is a bit of romantasy as well - both Emily and her love interest are scholars who are total opposites, and it is a fun time.
omg I did not see that coming!!! the cover is so spring vibes, haha. and that sounds amazing!
I LOVED Piranesi. Why not give it a go.
Leora!! 🥰Castle Waiting is 😙👌 Can't wait to hear you rave about lt!!
omggg so excited!!!
You would probably enjoy The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley (or anything else by her). Bedlam Stacks has statues that move, a "haunted greenhouse" vibe, and a truly good love story.
I am reading "Of the wild" right now and I am 50% the way through it was a five star read way earlier. It has changed my life and I am buying a physical copy to annotate immedietly!!!!!!
aaaah that's wonderful!!! so excited for you
I actually read Of the Wild thanks to your previous video and it was soooo good! very cozy, wholesome and beautiful, and I loved the ace rep! wholeheartedly recommend, I have a feeling you'd love the book. oh, and Piranesi is amazing, you definitely should give it a try!
Jade City (and the whole trilogy) was banger after banger!
I hope you really like Jade City it's one of my favourite series! The family politics and martial arts themes just go so well together 🧚🏻♀️
I loveeee jonathan strange and mr norrell. If you don't want to commit to a 1k pages novel, you can try Clarke's writing style and topics with Ladies of Grace Adieu (they are basically short stories about the same topics as the novel)
I don’t know what it is about Emily Wilde ( I guess the cover obviously 😅😂) but it’s giving very spring vibes! I was quite surprised that it’s taking place in snowy winter
I adore Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, it has some skow parts but I love it. That res edition is so pretty
❤📚📚❤️. I just bought the Nevermoor Trilogy!
Almost every book mentioned I added to my tbr, so excited to read them all!
Hi Leora! You should absolutely read Odd Spirits by S.T. Gibson before Evocation comes out cause it's the same characters, and it's a brilliant novella! Also, Jonathan Strange is sometimes a tough read but so so good! I highly recommend the audiobook and the tv series✨️
Loved the cozy video!!🤍 commenting for the algorithm :)
Emily Wilde actually takes place during winter! But it does look very springy 😊 I’m excited to read An Arrow to The Moon by Emily x.r. Pan, and bookshops & bone dust by Travis Baldree!
haha did so not see that coming!
I’m so excited for the new ST Gibson! I did my MA dissertation on A Dowry of Blood and it was such an awesome read!
that is amazing!!! i'm soooo excited aaaaaaaa
Start with Emily Wilde, it's very wintry. I loved it. I put off Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell for years because it's such a long read but I finally got to it a few years back and it's one of my all time favorites.
I adore the Nevermoor books. The audio books narrated by Gemma Whelan are so magical!
These recommendations were great! I just recently got the Nevermore books - I’ve never read them but I am excited to get into them! ☺️
Omg just finished Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands and it was even better than the first one! 😁
I have Jonathan Strange on my tbr too- can’t wait to hear your review
Damn it Leora my tbr is big enough as it is!
I'm excited to read Bookshops and Bonedust this year!!!🎉
ahhh yesss me too!!! almost hesitant tho like what if it's not as good as legends and lattes aaaaah hahahaha
I'm a little late but I've been Getting into Holly black's The Folk of the air series and I'm about to start Queen of Nothing. I also really want to read some V.E. Schwab, I've heard so many good things 💕
So excited for you to read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. It’s so funny and whimsical, as well as dark and emotional at times. One of my favorite books I read last year.
Also has one of the best villains in a book imo. V chilling. I read it first and later listened to the audio book which was also an incredible experience. The BBC TV show adaptation was enjoyable as well!
okayyy well that makes me extra hyped!!!
I am currently reading Iron Flame. I am hoping to read Divine Rivals next and i still want to get to Emily Wilde's Encycopaedia of Faeries. 🙂📚
Unpopular opinion here but I did not enjoy Emily Wilde, I found it boring and had no surprises. I'm curious to hear what you think. It is more of a winter theme though not spring just so you know. Love your videos!
I'm excited for Powerful and Reckless by lauren roberts this yearrrr :))))
Emily Wilde is so so good and the main character is autistic which is something I’ve never seen in fantasy and i loved her so much.
omg that is amazing
