She basically faded into the background. It got worse once Jacob Young chose not to renew his contract with the show thus, they had write off Rick's character. After that they broke up Rick and Maya as a way to explain Rick's absence from the show. They tried to revive the whole Maya and Carter thing but it didn't. Ultimately Karla Moseley left the show. Maya no longer served any real purpose. She isn't even mentioned anymore.

It got to the point where every second storyline from 2018 to early 2021 revolved around her and Liam (and of course a few other characters who were solely used to prop them up in those storylines- mainly Steffy and Thomas). This was the exact reason why Jacob Young decided not to renew his contract. He even mentioned in an interview that there was no longer enough work to go around for everyone (which would NOT have been the case if Bell didn't make every storyline revolve around Hope and Liam!), hence he decided that he needed to move on from the show. And it wasn't just Rick that we lost in 2018, it was also Ivy, RJ, Zende (before he was recasted) and the entire Avant family. Thankfully nowadays, the show is starting to get a little more interesting with the current storyline they're doing, as you can tell that they're actually making an effort to involve as much of the cast as they can. It's also an intriguing and engaging storyline, as many shocking twists have occurred, which has actually improved the show's ratings and kept the audience on their toes. They still have a long way to go if they want to bring the show back to being the way it was pre-2018, but at least this is an improvement and a much needed break from the same old same old.

I saw when Bill and Steffy slept together, when she did the DNA test, when she told Liam, I saw all of that but anything after no. I like many ppl lost interest in the show. I only started watching again last year when they put Quinn and Carter together. Those two made me start watching the show again. You are right the show is more interesting now since Hope is no longer the central focus of everything. New characters have been introduced like Finn and his family. Sheila is back and so is Deacon. The show is watchable now. Its time for them to start bringing in the younger Forresters. The next generation. Its time for them to bring in Rosie and Logan and Dino and Lizzy.

@@emerybayblues She had no storyline after the whole surrogacy thing with Nicole. Both Nicole and Zende left the show so therefore she and Rick had no storyline. She basically faded into the background. It got worse once Jacob Young chose not to renew his contract with the show thus, they had write off Rick's character. After that they broke up Rick and Maya as a way to explain Rick's absence from the show. They tried to revive the whole Maya and Carter thing but it didn't. Ultimately Karla Moseley left the show. Maya no longer served any real purpose. She isn't even mentioned anymore.
@@RealTalk1411 A lot of other characters were faded into the background in 2018 because when Bell brought Hope back, he decided to make her the centre of the entire show. It got to the point where every second storyline from 2018 to early 2021 revolved around her and Liam (and of course a few other characters who were solely used to prop them up in those storylines- mainly Steffy and Thomas). This was the exact reason why Jacob Young decided not to renew his contract. He even mentioned in an interview that there was no longer enough work to go around for everyone (which would NOT have been the case if Bell didn't make every storyline revolve around Hope and Liam!), hence he decided that he needed to move on from the show. And it wasn't just Rick that we lost in 2018, it was also Ivy, RJ, Zende (before he was recasted) and the entire Avant family. Thankfully nowadays, the show is starting to get a little more interesting with the current storyline they're doing, as you can tell that they're actually making an effort to involve as much of the cast as they can. It's also an intriguing and engaging storyline, as many shocking twists have occurred, which has actually improved the show's ratings and kept the audience on their toes. They still have a long way to go if they want to bring the show back to being the way it was pre-2018, but at least this is an improvement and a much needed break from the same old same old.
@@sarahcorbo3659 To tell you the honest truth I stopped watching the show around the time Hope came back. That was the last thing I saw. I saw when Bill and Steffy slept together, when she did the DNA test, when she told Liam, I saw all of that but anything after no. I like many ppl lost interest in the show. I only started watching again last year when they put Quinn and Carter together. Those two made me start watching the show again. You are right the show is more interesting now since Hope is no longer the central focus of everything. New characters have been introduced like Finn and his family. Sheila is back and so is Deacon. The show is watchable now. Its time for them to start bringing in the younger Forresters. The next generation. Its time for them to bring in Rosie and Logan and Dino and Lizzy.

I would also be super happy if they brought back Felicia and Kristen permanently (even if they have to recast the characters, I would still be happy) because the show is seriously lacking in Forrester women these days.
