I specifically remember he had fewer than 5k followers on any of his socials and had no achievements that would make him noteworthy. Lex only had 4 episodes of his own podcast at that point. I remember when Lex first got on Joe's podcast 4 years ago (Oct 24 2018). I looked him up because he was a nobody at the time. I specifically remember he had fewer than 5k followers on any of his socials and had no achievements that would make him noteworthy. Lex only had 4 episodes of his own podcast at that point. It's a wonder how he even got on Joe's podcast in the first place, as if Joe was doing him a favor. He has to be the most unknown person to ever be brought on as a guest to JRE. You can go to google trends and filter to just 2018, you will see that before the Rogan appearance, literally NOBODY searched for this guy.
It's been a while since I listened to it, but I don't remember that JRE episode being anything too special that would raise someone's profile like that. It was just generic vague talk about the consequences of AI/machine learning.

There is one podcast I used to watch occasionally. It's called "Buddha at the gas pump". At some point my noticing radar got triggered. So many of the guest were from certain demographic, which was kind of weird for me at that time. Not that long time ago I found an article that was addressing this topic. The article should be googlable with "buddhism crypsis". Interesting read.

Some of your critics argued that the overrepresentation of Jews as guests can be explained by IQ + some other personality traits. But, if we use Computer Science and Science categories as a baseline for being there due to natural ability, then there must be something more going on to explain the more vast overrepresentation in the political science category. Would variance in other mental traits purely explain that gap (after accounting for correlation with IQ) such that we can say Jews are overrepresented due to their natural ability?
