- A walk through the Downtown Anchorage Saturday/Sunday Market on 8-4-2012 located at the northeast corner of 3rd & E Street. The video was taken just as the Market opened at 10:00 AM and it was not too busy.
Here is a link to a similar video I did at the Market one year prior:
• Anchorage Alaska Downt...
If you're interested in our local Anchorage Alaska wildlife have a look at this video.

Thanks for watching and take care!
Haha, I was just thinking how funny it would be if all the sudden a Moose came walking down the aisle with a shopping basket hanging from his antler, lol😂
FERMIN B F, for some reason I'm not able to reply directly to your comment and question. The "Pay Here" at 27:08 is for parking. The market is held in a big parking lot where during the week you have to pay for parking.
Oh how much I miss Alaska. A beautiful place, no other place like this anywhere. The vegetables are huge, double sunlight. I remember going to Chitna with my dad netting king salmon, catching halibut in homer. I want to go back
Thanks for the comment. Just curious, where are you living now? Take care.
Nice video of the Saturday Market in downtown Los Anchorage! Thanks for posting.
Los Anchorage, yes I've heard that a few times. Nice thing about Anchorage is that it's close to Alaska. Thanks for the comment and take care.
Such a clean market 👍 I used to ankle deep mud and trash everywhere. Hope to visit some day. Uk.

Stayed at Hilton across street and really enjoyed walking through one afternoon.
The Hilton is a good place to stay. Definitely one of two or three hotels I'd recommend for staying in Anchorage. Take care.

Wow. looks like america used to look years ago. brings back memories.
Thanks for the comment, take care.
Beautiful video!!!
Thanks for the comment. May 10th is opening day for the weekend market this year. I'm hoping to have at least one weekend day off from work this summer so I'll try to make an updated video.
Passed by this today.. thank u for posting. Now I know what I missed out on. :(
Thks so much for this video. Before this one, i saw two others. Thks for ur effort though.
You are welcome, glad you enjoyed it. Take care.
Yes, a lot of stuff made in China for sale at the market. If you take the time to look though you can find some real local made in Alaska items. For residents we mostly enjoy the food and music at the market. Most of the stuff for sale is a lot cheaper at our local walmart.
Everything you need for the COLD Alaskan winter. Thought it was illegal to prosess ivory? One stop shopping for everything you need from gloves to boots to fresh veggies, all in the crisp fresh air. Oh my fudge I'm in heaven, thats my favorite, even donuts and coffee. Mmmmm Philly cheese steaks, EXCELLENT VIDEO, I hope someday soon before I pass, I can take a trip to this beautiful state. Land of the mid night sun.
Gary Plastek Thanks for the comment. I think the ivory can be processed by Alaska Natives and then they can sell it to individuals, shops, etc. Alaska is a beautiful state and I hope you can visit someday. Take care.
very interesting the market. what's that "PAY HERE" cabin at 27:08 ??
damn i miss anchorage a lot, thanks for the videos- though it looks like nothings changed really since i havent been there, which is cool as hell actually.
+Iggy Tubmen Thanks for the comment. Let me know if there is something you'd like to see in a video. I got out today for a 45 mile scooter ride around Anchorage on my scooter. A few of the trees have budded out already. Still some snow in the shade and under trees, etc. Take care.
nice trip, i'd like to taste the salmon quesadillas... funny...
by the way the original quesadillas are made of chesse...Queso means chesse.
regards from Mexico city..
thank you it was good to see
You are welcome, take care.
i enjoyed a lot to watch your video. i hope someday to know alaska and some cities such as fairbanks , barrow and juneau. thanks for post your video. obrigado por vc postar seu video
Thanks for the comment and I hope you can get to Alaska someday. My only recommendation is come in the summer and have plenty of time (at least a month and hopefully more) to explore the state.
when summer comes in alaska?
In Anchorage we've had snow in early May. June, July & August are usually nice.
thank u by information, i was watching other video with a guy from alaska was feeding many eagles with salmon fishes.
'
how was weather this market in summer time season...
nice cloudy day and coool time...
humid or moist or dry clean air
Most summer days are cool to warm and clean dry air here in Anchorage.

ken reece I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can, I know I can, etc. With your confidence in me I know I can do better next time and hold that camera still! Thank you for your support!
+ken reece agree
I agree too. I think they should invest in a camera stabilizer!
Edit: WOW! I just realized how old your comment is, lol 😂
Oi.eu estou preparando uma viagem do Brasil at o Alaska c meu filho.vamos d bike.
interesting but spoiled with the camera jerking up and down, try to keep it still thank you
I have a stabilizer now for my gopro so video quality should be improved. The market starts up this May and I'll try to get a better quality video.
Is there such thing as Fried Oeros over there?
Christie C Never heard of it so I would say no.
The fried Oreo is in your heart. Wherever you go, you take the comfort of the fried Oreo with you.
(Especially if you know the recipe)
Dizzy Alert!
what month was that?
+TangTuyetMinh The market is only open in the summer so probably June or July.
to fast can not see any thing but looks like it could be a great vid .
hey John.is it good to live there?im tired of being an American prisoner.I need to find a place to live were I can be free.
I enjoy living here but I can't say if you would like it or not. You still have laws, rules, taxes to pay, etc. up here.
joe whiteman Be ready to pay outlandish prices.
Looks nice, can you get a beer there???????????????
They don't sell alcohol at the market but there are bars/restaurants where you could quince your thirst.

leslie ledesma If I knew how to get everyone a work visa then I'd be retired on my ocean front mansion. Sorry, I have no inside or secret information about how to get a job here.

О! Пирожки 30:13

let's get crunk
Excuse me while I go throw up from the camera movement.
Not excused.
Não vi ninguém de cor nestas filmagens kkkkkkkk
$3 for one Zucchini ?..... Seems a bit high to me🤔
Expensive because of it being a tourist area versus a local farmer's market. I wouldn't pay that much myself.
the only thing that gets me is everything is starting to become so expensive I thought the lower 48 was bad. Alaska is slowly becoming just as bad and worse in some cases I do a lot of importing and I know the prices of some of the things I have seen there . I know one thing is making fair money and then there is just out rite greedy and I'm starting to see that a lot it's really sad
Wait did I see IVORY!!! Was that real? Isn't Ivory illegal to sell (new) in the USA??? Where were most of those items for sale made? The handmade items from the horns and antlers, etc. and the carvings were beautiful!
I pride myself on creating handmade crochet items, made by my American Hands in the USA (my yarns and threads come from India, Turkey, and Canada - some from the USA), if I had my way all my yarns and threads would be made in the USA. I cannot control that. Loved the dogs, and the furs (if I lived in AK I would definately have one for wear in winter.) Same old stuff though, different place. Thank you for sharing the market.
I could be wrong but I believe Alaska Natives are allowed to harvest, sell, etc. ivory.
“Ivory” comes from elephants....none of those in Alaska.
Mammoth ivory or mastodon ivory is easy to find online and in countries where they are still being dug up or pulled from glaciers(which includes Alaska). Different laws, especially since nobody is killing the mammoth or mastodon for their ivory...they are already dead....
Walrus tusk and penis look like ivory products, but still very different; and different laws.....
Walrus tusk.
people walking around not buying anything! must be exspensive stuff or what? people look vonfused or doped up.
but people need to make a living, same here in az.
this looks like a tourist trap sorry if im wrong
+ROAD WARRIOR 1967 MUSTANG I guess it's all perspective and could be considered a tourist trap by some. I'm a local and I enjoy going there a few times each summer. Thanks for the comment and take care.
cruise ship trap !

Way too many commercials....
Sorry but I got bills to pay.
Alaska John
Then you should only have one or two commercials, because I haven’t seen any of your other videos.....and won’t watch them due to the excessive interruptions. I am assuming I’m not the only one. And I would be watching all your videos since I own two pieces of property in Alaska and am moving up full time in 18, but again, not with all those commercials. Good luck.
Thanks for the free advice. Take care.
Abby Something when is 18? When you get to Alaska let's see some videos. Id subscribe
jaykay Idaho 2018 (probably get to my land in May or June).
You shouldnt be touching all that fresh produce.
+Aaron M Good point, that produce is probably covered in germs!
Alaska John ha no big deal. Hey I have a random question, Is it required to have a 4x4 vehicle to live in Alaska during the winter? Could you get by with a small sedan? I live in Texas and never have to deal with snowy roads.
+Aaron M Depends where in Alaska you plan to live. If you're living in a town of any size and don't have far to drive then a small sedan will probably be ok. You can add studded winter tires and that will help with the black ice and packed snow. There are even places in Anchorage that require an AWD/4WD vehicle in the winter. I have a couple of friends who drive small front wheel drive vehicles and just use all season tires during the winter. Thinking of moving up here?
Alaska John Well I daydream about it. I worry that I would get stuck in the snow and miss work up there. Down here the city shuts down if we get 1/4 inch of snow haha. I imagine up there people are expected to get to work no matter what the weather is.
its just a big
suap meet that all
You mean "swap meet?"
a lot of junk
Nobody is buying anything
No money, no honey or anything else.
Bunch of Junk
Most of it is made in China but there are some locally made items that are nice.
Alaska John dont be santanoness
I'm not sure what that is but I'll try my best not to be it.
