Troubleshooting my Broken A2 - Begode EUC Cutout :’(
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Unfortunately i experienced a random cutout on my A2 at ~20% battery (5mph), the very next ride an additional cutout at ~90% battery (10mph), and again a 3rd time the next day.
On the begode app all sensors are green with no error messages for the motherboard, Mosfets, gyro, or lock.
After further testing, it appears a sticky power button could be causing the cutouts, but this does not explain why the wheel cuts out while in motion but not while stationary or when being trolleyed.

Props to you for facing the fear and taking the falls to show us this. This sort of behaviour has already broken one persons ankle, and this is another machine with very similar symptoms, and now we have more info about what the possible cause may be, which was largely absent before.
Thanks for posting this information. I'm sure it will eventually help lots of people.
I had a blown Gotway/Begode board and got it fixed. I first sent it to Begode themselves and they couldn't fix it. Then I found a third party that did it. It was just a hobbyist. I've ridden the repaired board for 5000km now and counting. (The board didn't break because of quality issues. I think a mosfet bolt got loose and so it slowly cooked one of the mosfets. I loctited them all down.)
Glad you weren’t hurt in the cut outs. Hopefully it gets fixed soon
Assassin A2 strikes again 😘✌️
OMG, someone finally found the potential issue with the A2!!!! I won't touch the light during my ride!
And yes, thanks for being the brave crash test dummy for all of us.
I just bought the Mten4 (just couldn't help it), but am reluctant to buy any other Begode product, as my health is more important than their politics of unsafe technology.
never got back on the Sherman even after replacing the motherboard. It scared the living shit out of me. I am simply not having it.
Great demonstration! Hope you get it sorted and wil be following for a solution.
A2 owner here from Thailand. Begode Thailand has received new updated boards for the A2 and is replacing it for all 2023 model A2 owners for free. I haven’t experienced any cutouts before but I feel a bit more assured with a new updated board that has fixed a suspected faulty diode mentioned in Roger’s vid.
This is how engineer suppose to work to find root cause, they try to find a way to reproduce the problem, unfortunately this is not done by the factory, so as of now we are not convinced the problem really solved.
Thank you very much for your effort to find what really is going on.
Great content. Thanks for the demonstration.
Great documentation and troubleshooting.
I have been enjoying your videos and hope for more. Thank you for your creative efforts.

I humbly submit to other A2 owners for their evaluation and comments, three symptoms that I have encountered:
When I connect the Begode app to my brand new A2 that has up-to-date firmware installed, in Settings, in the Battery status row at column LF, it shows "Overtemperatur..." and blank for all other columns, the MOS switch row shows "ON" at column LF and "OFF" for all other columns, and the Fault conditions row shows a green dot at column LF and blank for all other columns. My first question is: have other A2 owners seen such indications in the Begode app and are they normal? My second question is: does the A2 actually even have a battery temperature sensor?
One of my concerns is that if a battery temperature sensor is supposed to present but is not working correctly, or was supposed to be provided but was omitted or improperly installed during manufacture, then I am being denied the protection that was intended to be provided by the sensor.
My A2 battery pack and motor areas always feel cool to the touch even after riding and after charging. No weird beeping. Wheel functions as expected.
The vendor of my A2 said that because the A2 does not have a BMS, the "Overtemperatur..." indication is spurious and should be ignored.
Helpful comments from other A2 owners would be most welcome.
good video! captured it well
Good video to show, thanks.
Hey bro is it working fine now? Did you ask for Begode support ? I have one of those no issues so far, but just learned to ride it how many miles you have with your Begode a2 and when did it begin cutting out?
Still having problems, my dealer will send video to Begode and ideally get me a new main board. This is a Batch 1 A2 with ~750 miles when it first cutout randomly last week
@@PEVPOV how do you know the batch ? Is there a way of knowing so I can check mine ?
@@AxiosReviewsI’m not sure how to tell what batch after the wheel has been out for a while, I just know because I preordered the wheel before it was released so I got the first batch
@@PEVPOVthank you for this information
@@AxiosReviewsthank you for asking the questions I wanted to ask. I got one coming tomorrow from ewheels 750wh 50e battery and it’s got my paranoid already
My Veteran Sherman out of the blue blew a capacitor lead clean off and would turn on completely normal and ride until you would put a little more torque on it for instance idling back and forth and then cut out.
You really should open it up and look for any components blown. I doubt a MOSFET is blown and the wheel would still be riding, but a cap lead or cap itself could cause the DC Bus voltage to be unstable. That in turn could lead to when you use the light that the voltage gets even more unstable. Just a thought.
Dang man, you took one (or five) for the team, I pretty much use mine as a yard wheel but is my most ridden wheel, I love it, I'll be keeping an eye on mine, I rarely ride in the dark so I'm hoping I'll be okay but I'll be watching to see what you come up with. Not related but what battery is in yours?
This A2 is 750wh 50E batteries
about to tear mine down i love my A2 cant wait to get a spare wheel. jumped it at the skatepark and now it has hall sensor error
That sucks man. I have one too and it's one of my favorites. What firmware version did you upgrade to? Doesn't look like firmware was the issue.
1010 to 1013
j'ai aussi une A2 qui a coupé, ça fait un drôle d'effet...
Thx for video, what was the version of firmware before update?
I believe I updated from firmware 1010 to 1013. I will check later today. I do know the firmware I was on was released in September and included the Race mode / offroad mode switch
Personally I dont touch power button, for lights or whatever while riding. I always stop before touching any buttons. 2ndly be real careful of the spin button as its super sensitive. 3rdly I wouldnt wanna ride the wheel below 20-30% because batt pack is only 750wh & there isnt a much headroom for shenanigans. Also the fw update extended beeps bothers you, flash/update fw through the official BG app. BG app takes 15secs or so while EUC.W takes a coupla mins. TBH dont surprise me something pop in mobo when you cutout
My ex30 had the sticky button problem too. Sucks the buttons are garbage
help ! my begode a2 cutouts only when turning on the front light
@@tekhouseman what firmware are you on? This was happening on both firmware 1013 (Original) and the new updated firmware from early July. I contacted my dealer for a new motherboard.
@@PEVPOV the firmware update did not solve the problem , it just give me the fun led lights
@@tekhouseman contact your dealer if possible, if it is an older 2023 A2 you may be eligible for a new motherboard. In Thailand, Begode replaced the board of all old owners A2 due to a faulty diode or something. Worth asking them to see
@@PEVPOV bought from aliexpress
The wheel is under powered, I am sure of it. This wheel has been behind a few bad accidents since coming out. Begode needs to make that wheel over, probably with more mosfets on a newer board. It's underpowered
its the assasin wheel 😂
Sounds like a problem with the motherboard, maybe water damage? Maybe a faulty capacitor
Also what freespin speed do you get?
Its strange, I havent ridden in any water so its definitely not damaged, I believe the capacitor or motherboad blew something during the first random cutout but idk why it would turn on and behave so close to normal when damaged. Free spins to ~28 mph
I thought freespin on the A2 was over 30mph. But assuming 28 is normal, it might be a loose component somewhere, or a cracked solder point that randomly disconnects when it gets hot (like my old PS3 used to do)
Is this Marty's assassin A2?
