The Apedale Railway's 'Smoke without Fire' Gala - how many can Lawrie drive? Chasing Dinosaurs Ep.4

  • Hello everyone,
    Over the first weekend of October the Apedale railway held a gala - with almost 100 locomotives on site, it was always going to be something quite impressive.
    But what was most interesting was asking Lawrie to come along and help out - so the big question - just how many engines can he drive over the weekend?
    If you're like what you see in the video, and want more information on the Apedale Railway and the Mosely Railway Trust, then the link to their website is here - it includes a stocklist so you can find almost every locomotive featured in the video: avlr.org.uk/
    A super massive thank you to the super people at the railway for inviting us up.
    A video featuring:
    Lawrie - Presenter, seeing just how much he can drive.
    Featuring camera work by Charles, Alex, and Lozz. Thanks chaps!
    A video edited by Lawrie.

    I just love those small diesels. I drove several at Bala in the 1990s. I mainly drove 'Indian Runner' and Lady Madcap there, as well as the larger BB loco (Western lookalike) Merionydd, with her large bus engine and power-boat controls (great seats too!!!).

    • @timwhite4301
      @timwhite4301 3 роки тому +1

      I don't know what the padlock is for but they are using the it in a token system. It is used on sections of track that have no passing loop. You are only allowed on that section of track if you have the token, there is only one token that way the trains can not crash into each other because if you haven't got a token you aren't going one that section of that track. Hopefully that helped I'm not great at explaining things 😋
