Trigger/aka GOLDEN CLOUD WAS RIDDEN BY OLIVIA DE HAVILAND IN THE 1937 MOVIE ROBIN HOOD he was bought from a stable by Roy Rogers that supplied horses to the stidios
And has anyone noticed that when Roy leaps into the saddle, it's obviously a double posing as him? I see that in a lot of his films. That's a little odd, considering that he was an accomplished horseman and was athletic besides.
He explained in a couple different books, that Republic studios eventually stopped allowing him and Trigger to do all their own stunts including certain mounts in the films because they wanted to protect their star actors... When I was a kid, I noticed a few times that "Roy" looked suddenly different in the middle of a fight/stunt and it was always weird to me until I learned about stunt doubles lol!
If the " gender " tables were reversed; the cowgirl would scoop all of Roy's fancy pants, shirts & boots and add them to her " cowboy " wardrobe. She would quickly don one of her captured Roy outfits to " sashay " around in her new cowboy duds !
OMG..
Finding this just gave me a reason to live.
Thanks !!!!
_The good old days_
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
Love this Roy Rogers movie.
Love Roy Rogers Movies especially with Gabby Hayes.
This is better known as wholesome entertainment.

It’s a sad song but so so beautiful
Any thing with toy and trigger is wonderful
Love the song
thanks again
Very good movie
I heard that when this and another movie that Roy made with Tito Guizar, his rodeo shows were sold out.
Tito Guizar was a big name at one time, and today he's forgotten. The trouble is that our cowboy heroes are receding into the past as well.
If Trigger is supposed to be such a well-trained horse, then why is anyone else able to mount him and ride off, leaving Roy standing there?
It is who has the reins in their hand.
Lee, wouldn't you let a goodlooking woman climb on you?

I've always wondered that when Roy is being shot at, he ducks down behind Trigger.
So, is Trigger bullet-proof?
Yes.
The theory----only that----is that most men wouldn't shoot the horse.

Beats me Lee. By the way I'm still looking for money to produce one of my screenplays.
Not too awful odd. Anybody can get hurt doing a stunt and if Roy got hurt, that was it for the picture
I saw him at the Houston Fat Stock Show and Rodeo 7yrs straight. He performed most of those stunts in person. He was a great horseman and showman.
@@logrant1012 That's what doesn't make sense. He was more athletic than Gene Autry, and I've seen Gene do things that most men couldn't.
