    Thanks for the upload IMSA . FoxSports take note: I deliberately did not watch this on FS1 because of the annoying ribbon of sports scores across the bottom of the screen. Note to all networks: LESS SCREEN GRAPHIC CLUTTER!!! PLEEZ!

      Have you considered going to Playstation Vue or UA-cam TV? I haven't had "cable" for a couple of years now because I first had PSVue (no Playstation required) and recently went to YTTV and love it! The only channel I miss is Comedy Central.

      IMSA Official you guys are AWESOME! It's awesome watching so many prototypes racing and YOU CAN ACTUALLY TELL THEM APART reminds me of the IMSA glory days of the 80's-which I was too young to watch but now can through the wonderful world of UA-cam.
      I had to work the day of the race and I rely on UA-cam pretty much for watching most races. Love the cars - and the diversity of the cars. Best in the world GT & prototype series by far!

    Thank you IMSA for uploading the broadcast so quickly. I couldn't stand to watch the abbreviated coverage from FOX. FS2 is hopeless with its 1990's video quality on Optimum.

    This is amazing. I really appreciate IMSA making these to youtube. FOX needs to take note as well. John Hindaugh and the crew do an excellent job calling these races. Keep RSL show going and I will keep supporting.

    Feedback: your commentary audio track seems to always be ~3 seconds behind the race video. The guys from the booth can't be that slow to react to events. Could it be that their track-side video feed is delayed as they watch it and comment on it?

    Montocalvo said it was lucky he was the driver because the other two (taller) drivers would have struggled to get out after the roll over. Why on earth did the Ferrari rollcage deform after such a gentle roll? Surely an FIA spec cage should be much stronger than that! I know that the car got stuck under the mess at Macau last year, but surely someone checked the cage hadn't been weakened

    • @eaglefat9398
      @eaglefat9398 6 років тому +4

      i doubt the cage actually deformed rather the carbon fiber car moved in relation to the cage, the roof probably pushed the cage deeper into the car.

    • @OsellaSquadraCorse
      @OsellaSquadraCorse 6 років тому +1

      Ignore the commentators.... Re-watch from 27:42-27:54 and look under the bridge; the Ferrari flips up onto its side, then gets (as so many cars have before) bounced into the air from the loose tyre bundle, putting it fully upright on its nose, then falls flat back onto the roof. This was not a 'slow speed rollover' and the car didn't 'slide to the barrier' as Hindhaugh mistakenly guesses; the rollcage damage was from the fact it fell from vertical to horizontal onto the car's roof - that's why the cage deformed, doing its job.

  • @retinalblur

    Why doesn’t GTD use the new BMW’s? Or are the new BMW’s too fast and advanced for GTD?

    • @jorhop4005
      @jorhop4005 6 років тому +4

      M Zitzmann The new BMW is a GTE car. GTD cars are GT3 spec, until BMW makes a GT3 verison of the M8 (which they aren't) the M8 will not be eligible for GTD.

    • @ChrisClark31415
      @ChrisClark31415 6 років тому

      Adding on to what Lil Brick said, the Turner Motorsports M6 in the GTD class had a performance boost. During the race, they asked him about the M8 and he said that with the upgrades, he's fine with what he has.
      I would also guess that BMW doesn't make enough GTE spec M8s to support another factory team at the moment.

    IMSA only a slight suggestion maybe looking into a new video production department? The videos released here on YT are pretty poor in quality. The encoding has issues sometimes, and even more frequent are constant frame skips. This is caused by the source footage having a different FPS. Then the uploaded/rendered file used here on YT. Its a simple mistake to make and miss (I assume is very much easier to make with live footage sources). Love how the videos are released here on YT after the live events. But I can be a much better experience with these issues resolved in the future! Best of Luck!

    3:07.40. They don't use alternaters! These guys know nothing about race cars to begin with & this would be about the 4th mistake the commentater made.

    • @Koolstorybro765
      @Koolstorybro765 6 років тому +1

      All cars with an engine and electronic systems (especially in endurance racing) have alternators. Otherwise your car would die without charging. Ever leave your lights on, go into a store and come out with a dead battery? If so, it is because the alternator wasn’t generating an electric current being redirected to charge the battery. Don’t be so quick to judge others, they might not have the knowledge to make an accurate comment. 😉
