I have an elderly cockapoo and an elderly cocker mix, both disabled. Both were horribly (cruelly) treated before I adopted them 9 years ago. I promised them that they wouldn’t have to do anything that they didn’t want to do and I have stuck to it. They despise being groomed by anyone, including me. The one who suffers severe seizures can see me take out a brush or comb and he begins violently trembling. I am disabled too. I have become so lax about grooming that they now have mats as badly as the dog in the video. It breaks my heart to see them in this condition but it also breaks my heart to do the right thing and groom them frequently. I ended up justifying it by thinking that it would be better to groom the huge mats once or twice than frequently grooming the same ones. (I acknowledge it was a dumb decision.). Either way we are nervous wrecks when it’s over. Your video is the best one I have seen on grooming dogs with big mats. All the others are in grooming studios or vets’ offices with halters to hold them and/or extra hands to help. I don’t have either. I purchased a top of the line professional clipper, trimmer and nail trimmer. Today I begin. I am still anxious but seeing your video gives me courage! They will not remain still so it will be an ongoing process until it’s done. Thank you so much! 😊
Hello, Thank you for your comment. I understand completely how hard it is. just take your time and allow your dog time to adjust. when removing mats and knots with clippers try and keep the blade flat and cut under the knot, close to the skin. Let me know how you go💕
Thank you for sharing this video. I have a Lhasa Apso with the same problem. I have matting on his legs as well. Did you trim the rest if her body legs, etc. with the 7 blade? What direction should I trim in since he has the part down his back?
No I used a 3f blade on her body. On the body I would recommend clipping in the direction of hair growth💓💓 how did you go clipping the knots off your dogs legs?
@@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials A 7f was used on his body. Round face, long ears and tail. Had to go shorter than I wanted. Knots too big. I know better next time. I appreciate your videos, help, and response.
Yes, I understand 💓 sometimes this can happen, when the legs are more matted. Good for you for helping remove the dogs knots, I sure he would have felt better💕
Hi. These videos help me a lot because you show and closed the caption. I am deaf, studying in groom school. But can you show me the example of against the grain (growth) Please thank you
Hello Victoria, I have answered your question in our latest Video💕Clipping in reverse or against the direction of the hair growth. ua-cam.com/video/6DufjiaiCXI/v-deo.html
this is the first video showing the operation of this dog clipper. are you satisfied with the power and performance of artero premium? would you recommend this dog clipper for occasional home use for thick curly hair? thanks
Just want to say I've tried your shampoo now and absolutely love it. I used the relax for a show but want to try purify next time I think. One of my poodles coats always seems soft when I use shampoo for giving texture and volume so I wondered what you would recommend?
Thank you so much, so sorry I missed your question💓 for texture and more volume I would recommend our purify collection. I use the purify collection on my mini poodle 🐩 he has more of an open coat and it gives his coat so much volume. melanienewman.com.au/collections/the-purify-collection

I have a whal clipper. What head would i use to get out matts? Theres different sizes
if your dog is matted and has knots. you will need to clip under the matt to knot. I would use a 5f or 7f, depending how back the knots are.
How long will it take for the hair to grow back
It can take from 4-8 weeks✂️
