    Replacing the harmonic balancer on a 2000 Toyota Camry. At first my friend said it had a faint squeal when she turns on the AC.
    After a day, the noise was more consistent.
    I already knew what it was because I have replaced a harmonic balancer with the same problem on my 1994 Toyota Camry back in 2007.

    Does anybody here remember changing out 3 different belts on their car instead of one serpetine belt? Ahhhh....those were the days. 🤙

    • @beastfromtheeast9318
      @beastfromtheeast9318 4 роки тому +6

      Yeah that was the best because if the AC compressor bearings failed you can just take the belt off and still drive the car. Now you have no choice but to get the compressor changed.

      @Farina Marcini. That's exactly what I was thinking when this guy compared him to Chris fix I have learned a lot from Chris fix but I benefited way more by watching fix it angel do his thing specially on this Toyotas I have a 95 and 2 1998 Toyota camrys I'm removing the harmonic balancer from the 98 that I have but no longer is drivable because of an accident I had and I'm putting that harmonic balancer on my old 95 Camry they're compatible as far as the harmonic balancer and a whole bunch of other parts is concerned my 95 is my backup car I replaced my 98 Camry that had an accident with a 98 Camry that is an excellent condition as my main daily driver car lol .

    So I did this repair but tightened the crankshaft bolt with ratchet and sockets. I know the torque is way off but would the tightening without an air tool impact gun really make a difference? My prius shakes and no check engine lights

    Okay angel I watched everything you did the only thing that really looks very difficult is when you get to the part of of just loosing the 14 mm nut with the extension I just hope I can get to it because I need to get the harmonic balancer from my 1998 Toyota Camry that was hit from behind in an accident and put that one on my 1995 beater Toyota Camry that has a wobbly harmonic balancer hopefully I can do it with God's help and your video right now I already have another 1998 Toyota Camry le 4cyl with only 100 thousand miles runs like a brand new car but I'm trying to hold on to my beater 1995 Toyota Camry le for 2 more years before I retire it completely. By the way you're videos are very inspiring and very helpful. Thanks a lot and God bless and your whole family.

    Thank you. I've replaced one on 95 Nissan Sentra. There was no wobble or noise, but the timing mark was "drifting" during timing test causing car to fail smog.
    When tightening the original crank pulley with impact gun (after changing the timing belt, for example), match mark the bolt to the pulley before removal. After tightening bring the bolt close to its original spot. (This will not work on late model cars that don't have a key in the crank pulley such as Dodge 2.4)

    So, seeing how this is an older car, it's probably got more issues with it; i.e. Shot struts or motor mounts, weak compression, etc. have you ever asked a customer how long they intend to keep the vehicle running. I know every car is different as well as everyone's budget, but do you ever tell them they're driving a ticking time bomb that's draining your budget?
    I only ask as I had this happen to me with an old Ody that's been neglected and 250k on the clock. Thanks for all you do. Love that sneeze!!!lol

    How do you take out out the bolts next to the Harmonic Balancer to take out the Belts ? I had a 2001 Toyota Camry 2.2 Liter . I tried taking them bolts out to loosen the bolts but it looks like I have to take more bolts more than two ? I loosen one bolts already .But how many bolts should take out to loosen the belts .?

    I also have some fluttering noise around 2000-2500k. before that or after and it goes away. wondering if it's the timing belt or something

      When a Toyota stops running, it's usually the timing belt or a pulley. When every other car breaks, new engine or transmission.🤫

      AnL Chronicles you can still drive it. It’s just matter of time till the rubber wears off and then you have a bigger problem. You need to change it now. Don’t wait.
