Talent makes patience less needed, as a person develops its talent this kind of proyects become easier and one can enjoy it more so patience tends to become less and less necessary, this guy is obviously very experienced and talented, i bet he had fun doing that.
artistic talent comes in all types of forms... you can be strong in one type and completely bad in another. But 3d modeling and animation is all about patience and having an eye for what needs to be changed and what looks anatomically correct... this takes time to learn... if you want to start modeling and animating i suggest using blender/3ds max/ maya... hose are all great tools... but one tip, try working on your artistic skill like drawing.. it will help your modeling and overall composition
While this video is a clear demonstration of your sculpting skill and patience, it still seems absurd that software companies have not developed intelligent templates that would remove 9/10ths of the drudgery involved in creating a digital human. Building up from a base person would allow the artist to tend to details that make the individual special. I remember Digital Domain back in the 90s working on such a template human project and never heard about it again.
oh yes. i ve been using mudbox and swiched to zbrush and trust me , it's day and night. i originally had started with mudbox cause i couldnt get used to zbrush's interface but once you get used to it, its okay. in zbrush you are not struggling against the program and its quirks, you create. the tools do what you expect them to do, everything is more simple and efficient, really. it's got a totally different philosophy to other 3d programs. plus pixologic is a company makes worthwile updates!
Zbrush is nice for static models. But for animation You should make a low - poly model. And then something more high -detailed.Still you have nice skill.
Amazing sculpt and might i add very fast :D Only question i have is what was that custom brush you were using when you were sculpting the hair, Looks like it would be great to do wrinkles and folds
i believe the smoothing tool doesn't smooth beyond your basemesh...which is ridiculous. generally mudbox was stressing me out. i used z brush on only one project so far and its been a relaxing process heheh...
it's easy if you try. use measurements and pictures as your guide and you will get a sense of proportions and shapes. and zoom lets you be very accurate
Very nice video, i have just one question out of curiosity. How did you managed to pull holes/gaps in your sculpt (i.e lips 3:09, or eye 4:28) without switching to Zsub ? I've seen it in other videos too but can't figure it out.
nice sculpting but if your trying to make a digital double of Avril you need to concentrate on sculpting the asymmetrical details to get her likeness, along with using 3 quarters reference.
Where do you get to this kind of music? I must confess I'm working while listening to the music from this video. And I need more of it. I usually listen to metal or anime music but now I see i need something more... artistic and chill out. Can you recommend something?
Is there an easier way to rotate your object around a specific area ? I find the rotation controls to be too loose. If you look at mudbox for example, you could frame your camera on a specific area, and when you do a rotate, it stays steadily focused around that area. With ZBrush I wasn't able to find that extra control, especially if I wanted to frame (F hotkey) on the face or on the hand. Zooming in manually and trying to rotate around such areas can be very frustrating.
Downloaded Foreground Reference Utility and pretty sure that's what he's using - 100% same exact interface and buttons and everything. Unless ZBrush completely copied (or the other way around?). But either way, I didn't know about the "spotlight" feature in ZBrush, thanks for the tip, I'll have to check that out! :D
yeah I'm trying mudbox and finding it lacking. the sculpt tool doesn't produce smooth features but a lot of artifacts that then has to be smoothed out with the inept smoothing tool.
Not entirely certain, but it looks like he used "Foreground Utility" (extremely handy when the software you're working in doesn't support transparent layers). UA-cam won't allow me to post the direct download link of course, but try googling it
If you have a predilection for making cool things on a computer and $700 to spare, you should definitely invest in a digital sculpting app like ZBrush.
You can download 30days trial version Zbrush on Pixologic site. If you interesting about digital sculpting You can use Scuptris. It has same feature as like Zbrus but it is freeware. You can find Sculptris on Pixologic site.
Pretty Dam Fantastic! I noticed many things I do wrong by watching you do them correctly thank you for sharing
The fact that people have the patience to do this is unbelievable. Incredible.
Talent makes patience less needed, as a person develops its talent this kind of proyects become easier and one can enjoy it more so patience tends to become less and less necessary, this guy is obviously very experienced and talented, i bet he had fun doing that.
Seems like you've been creative these days:)
Have a Happy New Year! Great work and nice flow/techniques.

Amazing! Professional tools in professional hands can really do a magic.
Thank god for all people who share such skills on youtube!

Amazing sculpting. This girl looks very realistic. How long a real time sculpting?
Really awesome. I'd love to see this put into a machine that can create an actual 3D object from 3 D information. :)
Zbrush is nice for static models. But for animation You should make a low - poly model. And then something more high -detailed.Still you have nice skill.
Yo, what was this project for? Meaning, you put a lot of time and talent into this... I hope you got PAID!

Exceptional work, though I am curious why you chose to not use one of the ZBrush hair making tools instead of the tedium.
I opened Zbrush only twice. Even canˇt imagine how much time it will take to make smth like that! Very-very nice!
The guy who made that "Foreground Reference Utility" deserves an award.
great work!! :) sorry for the question, what do you do for a living?
Watching these during holidays makes me wish I was back at work :(
You are very talented, did you go to school for this?
I'm not demanding him to do the hair but I'm just saying that he needs to learn hair simulation because it's a very great combination.

Amazing work! what custom brush are you using?
that was amazing, good job
Amazing sculpt. Which brush did you use for the hair folds?
When you do the hair is insane!
nice sculpting but if your trying to make a digital double of Avril you need to concentrate on sculpting the asymmetrical details to get her likeness, along with using 3 quarters reference.
i like your skin lighting material.. how did you do that??
Beautiful work
One thing always keeps bothering me...
Where do you guys get these cool reference photos from?
that is a really nice matcap. can you provide a link for it by any chance?
Where do you get to this kind of music? I must confess I'm working while listening to the music from this video. And I need more of it. I usually listen to metal or anime music but now I see i need something more... artistic and chill out. Can you recommend something?
Good work man.

Nice work. What material are using at 9:30. It's amazing.

You are amazing!!

Done by korean artist.. i can still feel like when he draws a caucassion.. the face still is being drawn leaning to asian face...

cool, very nice man :D
beautiful!
ใช้โปรแกรมอะไรคะ สนใจทำบ้าง รับทำหรือสอนไหมคะ
You bake normals from this high poly model on to a low poly that has been retopped on it within zbrush :)
please share original time too thnks
anteaterho2 do you use a pen-tablet ?
ive got question out of subject... whats the title of second song in this tutorial :P?
Would have been fitting if you played her music haha
what type of material mocap is that?
Can you do an animation with this? Make it in this program and make an animation of it in maya?
excellent!
Not entirely certain, but it looks like he used "Foreground Utility" (extremely handy when the software you're working in doesn't support transparent layers). UA-cam won't allow me to post the direct download link of course, but try googling it
Tablet or mouse?
Didn't look like the Spotlight. It had a semi-transparent window unto itself.
pls tell 5 songs's name in
1st 0:00 - 4:29
2nd 4:31 - 9:19
3rd 9:22 - 13:08
4th 13:12 - 16:34
5th 16:41 - 23:07
try to lock on Y axis it will probably bring you classic mudbox view settings
If you have a predilection for making cool things on a computer and $700 to spare, you should definitely invest in a digital sculpting app like ZBrush.
is zbrush better than mudbox?
Good job. But I like most my version Avril
Buen trajabjo. Pero me gusta mas mi version de Lavigna
is it only pc version?
nicely done
how did you make the head transparent at 17:35 ?
The app? If you mean the program, it's Zbrush 4.something.
is that program worth the 600$?
how did you load that picture ?
can you upload the base mesh please ? if you don't mind ofc
Hpw do you put an image on top zBrush, then trace under it?
Amazing
What's are your computer components?
It's a sculpting demo not a hair simulation demo.
I had used "Foreground reference utility". You can search on google
If you active Local Transformations (on the right side panel), the camere will rotate around the last spot you clicked :)
Awsome
Zbrush King ♥
I wish I had Zbrush but it's so expensive.
The reference pictures to use of what software. Can be transparent

nice :)
@AbsentV0iD I'm late but Happy new year~. Thanks a lot. ;)
