Thank you Roger,I`ve seen to many good fish float past me on the tidal Trent because people don`t give them enough time to recover, that is why I wanted to emphasize that point mate
I hold them in the water 'till they are strong enough to kick away from my hands. Usually takes a minute for them. Once, a nice 7 pounder from Beeston wet slapped me in the face with its tail fin as it left me! Grayling must be held in the water too. Not many of those in the trent, except in very upper reaches???
Great example of modern fish care. Trent is a stunning river isn't it. And, God knows what you might catch. What a place. As always, best wishes. Up the imps. Cheers!
Get a rod get some bait and get out there Piece and quite, Nature, and you might catch a few fish. Have some time to yourself in this mad world all the best
Cracking result keith, some lovely bream and a stunning barbel, I fished the evening before on that stretch, bloody freezing in the wind lol, rod tops bouncing all over , really enjoy your videos, good health and safe travels, cheers craig 🙏 🌿
Thanks for watching Neil,I started off on a size 14 eyed Drennan specialist hook to a 0.20 mm flouro carbon hook length, because I was only getting bream I changed to a 0.16 flouro carbon hook length to a size 14 Guru feeder special hook mate.
Very nice session 👌, Got to be worthy of a trip out on a Winters day 💪🎣 on the beautiful River Trent 😁Barbel nearly had you bossed and always hook those when we scale down lol Next time you get chance it would be great to see you bagging on Cake mill stretch on Ancholme 40's on the point Tench n Bream bonus fish 🐟 on the old Chop lobby n caster ,Just an idea for pole video . Thanks again for your content us that can't get out at moment appreciate i do mate.
Thanks, you are right,I scaled down because I thought only the bream are showing and bam the tip flew almost into the river. I’ll try and get over to the Ancholme and film one for you James 👍
Just turn take the road to Farndon from the roundabout near Newark mate, turn of the main road onto long road and just keep driving until you come to the river Russ 👍
Always makes me laugh that in the 70's & 80's we kept the rod tip low when quiver (or swing) tip fishing - now it's like setting up for cod with a beachcaster! Fads & fashions eh?
@@enjoyyourfishing tactics & kit has changed, but you can't beat sitting on a proper river bank. I need to work harder on my better half to engineer a move back to Lincs - I have the Nene local to me now but I still yearn for your local venues! I also still have my Abu ferralite mark 6 rod & 506 reel - not that I use them any more - but for old time's sake I'd love to use them again on the Trader (& probably blank just to be consistent)! Cracking barbel - you were obviously chuffed with that.
@@AnthonyWilliams-ew3wp same here - easy to see bites against a darker background than the sky, & less affected by the wind. Still, they all seem to do it so it must work.
Well done Keith. A day to remember. Patience paid off and great to see you emphasize the importance of fish wellfare.

Excellent point. I still keep the tip down when river fishing. I can’t see the bites properly with the tip up in the air.
