A real treat for us all Keith and a very special day I mean 13lb what a result well done deserve a warm cuppa after enduring the cold I can't do it at my age 71 what with health problems so hats off to you mt8 great watch
Cracking fish I haven’t fished the dyke since I was a teenager in the 80s used to go on the bus always used to fish down stream off the bridge near a cow drink used to catch loads of chub after watching your videos I’ll be going back to try it myself in the summer keep up the good work with the videos
This is the first time, for a long time, someone has mentioned the vaseline trick. If you can keep the backs of your hands warms the palms will stay warm aswell. We'll done on the barbel
Well done 👏 pal, used to fish the Dyke a lot in late 80s and early 90s plus the main river .Sadly don't fish the rivers anymore now but a lot of my mates still do.Really enjoyed vid kieth ,keep them coming pal.cheers.
Great video, lovely variety of fish, ending with a stunning Barbel. You can tell how thrilled you were with your P.B. Good advice to others about how important it is to rest fish like that. Enjoyed sharing your day with you, & it was worth your perseverance of the cold, windy weather. Can’t wait for your next video. 👍🏻👏🏻🎣
@@enjoyyourfishing Thank you for the effort you make to show us your fishing adventures. It couldn’t have been easy on this one with that biting cold wind. Keep up the great work.👌🏻👍🏻

Another great Vlog Keith, I'm just delving into the back catalogue, is permanent peg 34 on the dyke the opposite bank and down stream of Staythorpe power station?

Please when you catch a barbel, before you unhook it, rest it for at least 5 minutes in the water, it is the equivalent of you running for your life, being breathless, then when your trying to catch your breath, dunking you under water
@@enjoyyourfishing my point is, and again don’t take offence, when you go for a run, it is like someone putting your head underneath water where you can’t breath, and it’s worse when you can’t catch your breath. Barbel fight with all their might, so when you land it, let it rest in the net, that is my point, before doing anything, you can rest it all you want for 30 minutes or an hour, the damage happens when you eventually land it, then drag it out of the water, I’ve seen barbel need resting for about 6 hours because people do this. You can get offended, but I know I’m right. I’m not saying your a shitty person or fisherman either.
@@JimBob-lz1gy I totally agree barbel need resting, I’ve tried to show this in both my videos by emphasising fish care, in all the years I’ve fished the Trent middle and tidal I’ve never had a barbel go belly up,yet I’ve seen big barbel and carp floating past from sections of the river like Collingham and Besthorpe while I’ve been in a match, because the big fish boys let them go to early because they think they’re ok. I do understand what you are saying and after unhooking both those barbel I caught in the videos,I rested both for a long time in the water making sure they were both ok,after weighing I’ve rested them again until they were good and ready to go. So when someone questions my fish care I do take offence,as like you probably have,I’ve seen some awful handling of fish, both by match and the bivie lads. Tight lines Jim Bob everyone’s entitled to there opinion mate 👍🎣🎣
That's how it's done. Simple fishing with great results. Thanks for filming.
