Bought one after watching this video. I've had it a couple of months and it's just an incredible little all-in-one amp. The fact that it can be battery operated and played anywhere makes this thing a perfect choice for a street musician, but it works perfectly for my living room. Thanks for this demo. You sold me!
Oh yeah...it's a great little amp. I've recently picked up guitar again after 30+ years away, bought a sweet little Bugera tube amp and was happy with it, but this is so versatile, is so tiny, sounds sooo sweet and is just so easy to turn on and play anywhere in the house. So thinkin' I'm gonna let the Bug go. It's a great little tube amp, but this does more. And done dirt cheap! Thanks for the fine demo, Freddy.
I have trawled the web trying to find the best portable battery powered practise amp, with the best quality sound/highest output and the longest battery life, with the most effects/features, that could accept multiple inputs, for under £100 and didnt think one existed and then I saw your vid and realsed in the first few minutes the search is over, this VOX Mini 3 is it! and in the uk I can get it for £80, this shows just how useful you tube can be for demo'ing stuff. Great Vid. Cheers bud.
My very first amp was an used Vox Conqueror Top - 35 years before, when I was 17 ... Today I own a VT120 AD VTX and his little bro VT30 .... Even a ToneLab EX ... VOX makes FUN since I´m young! I just ordered the Mini3 for our place at our campsite ;) Doing our neighbours nervous hehehe ! Thanks for ya great presentation ! Morriz ;)
just ordered it over the micro cube because i heard great things about the vox DA5. I have the 15x already from roland so it will be nice to swich it up with a vox product. ill review it once i get it!
sweet. picked up one of these (the ivory one,) second hand and hardly used yesterday for $70. I love the sound. It sounds bigger than it looks. Now I've got it. I'm going to mod it, to start with, I want a 6 inch 15 watt neodynium driver in it to replace the ferrite 5 inch 10 watt one it's fitted with. Then, remove the 6 x 1.5v holder and put in a li-po battery pack for longer battery life. Might buff the amp, might not.
Hi, thanks that was a good through review. Nice warm sounding too for a little amp. I play the blues only, so in comparison to the Mini 5 Rhythem what are the main differences apart from the Rythem? I feel that the mini 3 , even though with 3 watt and 5" speaker has higher output than the mini 5 with 5 watt and 6.5" speaker! thanks for your feedback in advance
@NomadRonin - Yeah, but it's apples and oranges dude! Why would yo recommend somethings soo radically different...which they are! 1/8" inputs on this AA batteries, separate mic and guitar FX and input, and SIZE, and on and on. I considered both and others and in the end....I bought this one..and very happy now!
Out of a Vox mini3, DA5 or Roland micro cube, which one is the most value for its money? I like that the DA5 has a lot of effects, the micro cube seems the most limited of the three. Thoughts?
Just Bought One Of These Amps, It Worked For About 3 Hours And I Was Messing Around And Pluged My Guitar Into The Mic In, It Worked For A Few Minutes But I Turned The Trim Knob And The Sound Stopped, Now No Sound Comes Out Of The Speaker, The Amp Still Turns On And The Tuner Works But To Get Sound I Have To Plug In Headphones, Does Anyone Know Whats Wrong? Please Help
hey, I see that this guy is putting a mic on the front of the amp, Those this work?, because I am in a club where its so difficult to bring a amp but they have mic and its amplification, can I put a mic in front of the amp and does it still sounds good? I am Curious about this
It's probably your playing style tbh... if you're trying to do open chords with heavy distortion, it's going to sound like that. Look up power chords, see if those sound better.
hi i just got this amp and well i'm a beginner. I'm having some problems with this amp, i'm using an epiphone les paul custom with it. When i set it to models like UK 80's and set the gain up, i end up getting very muddy sounds when playing. Sometimes when i play a chord i cant even hear the chord, it's just freakin' trash noise. However, channels such as BT clean work perfectly. Did i buy a lemon? or are there other settings i have to play with?
Which one is better for busking, this one or the roland mini cube? Which one is better with an acoustic guitar? (I can't afford the roland acoustic portable) Thanks!
I've never played through the Cube but I do have this model and it is amazing. I was going to purchase a Pignose, mostly because of nostalgia. Unlike most of the other mini amps, this amp comes with the ac plug and a boat load of effects.

Damn, that's the best sounding micro amp I have ever heard, by a mile!
another killer demo. that is really impressive for a small portable amp. how a versatile is that. cheers Freddy, you rock..........again
I got this amp after debating between this and the Roland MC. It's awesome. Worth every penny

I purchased this 2 weeks ago and i love it, it produces really clean sound if your looking for a busking amp this is a good 1...
You are a fine player, friend. And excellent spokesplayer for Vox.
i seriously want this guy to demo every amp out there!

What setting do you keep for songs like high way to hell
Nice Chops! Great Demo!
A Vox guitar... now I can die in piece.
Dude, yah just made my day with that comment!
@yekshemesh4alig The DA5! The Mini 3 may have a tad more features but with the DA5 you get 5 watts and a 6" speaker.

Thoughts?
I think Freddy is Johnny's clone .

Guys , if you are searching for buying a portable amb stop it. Buy this one!
Freddy demarco??? Remember Johnny demarco for the boss pedals.
one more thing, you can play so good what are you're doing reviewing amp? you should be making records. or do you?

As long as its all in good fun :-)
Which one is better for busking, this one or the roland mini cube? Which one is better with an acoustic guitar? (I can't afford the roland acoustic portable) Thanks!
+Esteban Villanova This one has a setting for an acoustic guitar with pre-amp.

@yekshemesh4alig - mini 3
WHY BUY A BIG AMP WHEN THE SMALL DOES IT TOO...
Obviously way more generic and vivid.
Dude, your teacher wants the time they spent on teaching you english grammar and punctuation back.
@Butcherguitars AHAHHAHAHAHA
jealous people who can't play, always pay attention to stupid things.
not quite as humorous, mate
You look like you smelled a bad fart when you are playing!!!! Nice amp though.
