@damsen978 Gotta have some creature comforts while infinitely expanding the factory, sometimes too much of a great thing can cause problems and lower productivity, so Engie has to take a break from expanding the factory and listen to music, watch cat videos, collect Gear Girl anime figurines and posters, amp up the motivation and creativity to build a bigger and better factory. After all, The Factory Must Grow.

Biter bases are far away so they can't be seen, but entire armies of biters come and ruin the new factory. Worse, the previous factory? Special biters have burrowed through the ground, going under your defenses, tearing it apart. This new death world factory is under siege and the hope left. Only way out is to prevent the reactor from melting down, activating defenses (or repairing a roboport so bots can fix defenses. Or maybe activate and being mass-production of prototype attack bots) and basically just buying time until a rocket can finish being built. It ends with the rocket blasting off into space as the world darkens (I'm imaging something like how the Zerg corrupt a planet in Starcraft 2). Basically, the biters win, because they can burrow underneath base defenses, but you still build a rocket and get offworld
I doubt it, factorio is a great game, but I don't think it could be made in 3D, this looks like a nightmare to actually play. It's great for a movie or something tho
there's just something about the title drop shot (1:02), the way the music leads into it for just a moment prior on the black screen, the way the car slides across frame, the sense of motion as we track with the car, the animated title sfx being synced with the beat, seeing the satisfying bounce of the suspension in the car....absolutely love it. Feels so good.
From the github description it reads that loading your own factories is possible, using it as a 3D factory viewer basically. I'd love to see those insane megafactories from the community with this project!

That being said, they have factorio to use as a paradigm, they’re really just gonna be copying an already great game and turning it 3D
i saw this in my recommended and thought this was a new game and realized wait that's the factorio train and instantly had to come and view what was going on this is sick every detail of all the machines is insane you can look at every model and can compare it perfectly to its game counter part you two hit this out the park

I got this head cannon that the company in Factorio and the company in Satisfactory are rivals. They just go planet to planet seeing who can out produce the other.
Add to that Lethal Company and Deep Rock Galactic.. weird.. many of my favourite games are companies with questionable morals exploiting all sorts of planets for capital gain ...
It's cool from an animation standpoint for sure. I love what you have done here. Satisfactory for sure fulfills this dream, as it looks and feels like this and is in UE5.
But it plays nothing like Factorio. Last time I checked the Satisfactory guys also don't want to be like Factorio, basically they are like "Factorio has enemies? So we won't have that because we are different". And they are right, something as complex as Factorio can't be done in a 3D game - it will always be more Fortnite than Factorio.
@@Puschit1 I'd argue Satisfactory devs simply got their priorities wrong. For example people were asking for blueprints from day one. When they implemented blueprints it was in a very restrictive way. First you can only blueprint arguably tiny spaces because it's in a machine. Second you unlock said machine on (I think) Tier 5 or 6 so every smart design you came up with to get to that point you'd have to rebuild painfully within said confined space but you obviously didn't always keep that in mind so some designs simply won't fit / need to be split up etc. And their explanation for such shortfalls? "It would make the game too easy/ The game engine would be maxed out by players building too many structures" Quite frankly put I find this ridiculous. People still built megafactories without any QoL updates from early on. The thing that keeps the game back the most is how tedious building is. Almost every QoL update that introduces something convenient comes with a "ok but this is less than ideal / ok but this isn't working that great" The game is filled with mechanics that hinder having fun. I still enjoy the game but I strongly disapprove of their design choices. Modders added tons of really great tools that work better than what the devs did.
Damn, I can only imagine how proud the developers were when they watched this. Perfectly captures the look and feel of the game that I genuinely thought it was from them to start with.

For one glorious second I thought "Could this be the project the factorio devs were working on in one of their last dev blogs?" Then I read the description and died inside. This would be one of the greatest games ever made if it was real. I have over 2000 hours in factorio as it is, and if they released factorio 2 looking like this it would be worth all the monies to me. Good job on the video guys looks incredible but it was also heartbreaking at the same time.
I think it's nearly impossible to optimize 3d factorio to have the same level of smoothness, as the 2d. Maybe in 10-15 years, when the quantum computers will become widespread.

But yes it is still an exceptional game! and very gorgeous to play in. But I love the staggering complexity of factorio.

Game like this would require an extremely powerful computer. Even 2D factorio in some situations can require a very powerful computer. But definitely it looks amazing, well done.

I hope that after watching this video, Wube Software will mobilize themselves and make Factorio 2, then Satisfactory will be in big trouble! I like Satisfactory, but Factorio in full 3D could be best automation game ever! Wube -> you can do it - I believe in you guys!
