@@mitchchartrandYou beat me to it! Yes, little rubber hair ties, or "elastics", are the perfect way to bundle your zip ties. They are incredibly cheap, and just the right size for bundling all kinds of small items. I use one near the bottom and another near the top of the zip ties. Bonus: Put a key ring on the top one and put the key ring on a carabineer. Clip them to a belt loop, your tool bag or whatever.
Just a suggestion from one tech to another….the small Milwaukee cloth bags that some of their 12v tools come in…..make a nice little zip up storage solution. I keep my multimeter , IR gun and other various multimeter leads in that bag. It just works…for me anyway. Love ur vids and ur short vids….gives me a good laugh while working on haunted swing reaches.
used to watch every short of yours for multiple times and then YT decided not to show me your channel for over a year now I got ur vids back and love to see that you look fresh and healthy! wish you the very best
The rubber boot on my ancient Fluke 23III has a slot that magnetic holder strap gizmo would fit in. I have some spare nylon strap and some magnets laying around- I think I’ll make my own. I admit that I wish I’d thought of it first. The case itself looks pretty spiffy but it could use an external pocket for extra leads and connectors like you’ve got. I’m one of those guys who tries to keep all the pieces of a thing in one place. I’ve been thinking about finding a case for mine since apparently Fluke doesn’t provide them and you’ve inspired me to beak down and actually do it.
I use my own straps for a lot of things. My tool belt doesn't usually have tools on it 😅 it's just a work belt with a magnet glued to the buckle and various clips. Some military style, some homemade. The magnet is for small parts, but it can hold some tools. I've considered adding more magnets to the belt instead of adding pouches. I like the idea of a magnet on a strap. That allows for more mobility without accidently knocking tools off the magnets.
@@brookelord3448 Commercial work belts have always disappointed me. TL;DR: I found a Sam Browne belt and have a bunch of pouches that I swap out depending on what I’m doing. A decent surplus store will have pouches and bags and stuff that you can customize for tools but you can also grab the clips that fit the belt and attach them to commercial cases like the one in this video. “Military grade” usually means “lowest bidder garbage” but in my experience Sam Browne belts and web gear in general are pretty rugged and comfy if you fit them right.
I've always just used a rubber band around my zip ties...does fine and then I also have an elastic that I could potentially use in a pinch for whatever.
I've come to the realization that literally anything product wise or service related that gets blasted out on social media is one of two things. A complete and utter scam, or junk.
I got the case nearly identical from Khanka i believe. I keep my alligator clip leads, K type thermocouple, and outlet tester in the front zipper part. Multimeter in the bottom. Works perfect for my MM400.
"I noticed the zip ties they sent with the holders were held together using the old method..." That's like putting a coupon for ground beef in a box of veggie burgers.😂
The holders are probably glow in the dark for when they’re sitting on the floor with you under a machine so you can easily find them, or for finding in your bag maybe
The "Glow in The Dark", doesn't last long. But honestly, I've been using it for over 3 years and if you put it in the same place every time, it's not hard to pull a zip tie without even looking.
Mocked the cable tie holder at first, then remembered the times dropping the bundle of cable ties when working on a ladder, aloft etc ....... best feature the carabiner to clip it to your belt or ladder etc
once a year I work at a Punk festival for free entry and free drinks. Those zip tie holders could come in handy there. I go threw ten bags in a week then. I kind of like that work, because you have to keep your essential tools on your body all the time, because you're walking around all day. Makes you creative and efficient. I'm really looking for a holster for a two pole voltage tester that takes care of the cable. (no idea what its in english)
I have that zip tie holder. Today a coworker asked me if it's how i castrated myself. Just a short story. The holder is bulky but works well just my 2 cents.
Fluke makes silicone leades with removable ends that ypu can use different attachments. Expensive but silicone leads are amazing especially when u can get rid of all those other leads.
Yeah the Fluke brand soft cases suck too, I picked up one of the chinesium semi hard cases for my Fluke. Its a lot nicer, only problem is my 87v no longer fits in the case with the magnet hanger.
The problem with Fluke cases is that they are made to be too generic. They try to make their cases so that they can be used with multiple models of meters, but they don't don't fit any one meter and accessories particularly well. I bought a new Fluke 1587 FC-NIST several months ago (~$1200) and it didn't come with a case. The case that Fluke recommended for it is just a zippered bag. It's a joke.
I like the Klein amp meter, which reads AC and DC amp draw and is also a decent voltage meter. I also bought the magnet attachment. Very happy with it.
I have3 zip tie holders with belt loop form rack a tiers and let me tell you when you wiering in a panel its absolutly awesome like you just have 3 of em eatch for a different size/color.
I use this cool self-tensioning device for my zip ties it was engineered by British inventor and next year will be 180 year old it's called a rubber band
As someone who has to carry a crap load of zip ties on their person while walking in the dark, I could use this. It almost seems like it was made specifically for my job.
Zap it with a UV flashlight for 10 seconds or so and then turn out the lights? Also, check the fur of all your pets, denim jeans, and bugs in your back yard to see if they glow under UV. (They will stop glowing without the UV)
Looks to me like if you put both sets of leads in the case you could nestle that little box of accessories next to the multi-meter. Inside it wouldn't be likely to be lost and when you open the case ... There they are.
Fluke started designing laboratory instruments that would never be used in dirty, non air conditioned environments much less have to rough it in a tool bag with other tools. They proved so damn useful and reliable that people who get their hands dirty started buying them. I think Fluke just hasn’t figured that out yet. On the other hand, if they did provide or sell cases it would jack up the price by like fifty bucks or more and the case probably wouldn’t provide any better protection than the one reviewed.
Don't forget the pair of pliers to open the ratchet pawl on the zip ties so you can re-use them. I'm learning from the tips you show on your channel! 0/10 for the pliers hack... well, not all tips are created equally. At least no finger-wagging occured.

You have me searching for a case like the one you presented. I am a gizmo kind of guy, being a master electrician for 44 years. Thank you sir.
Amazon has all kind of nice cases like that. I've got my multi tester in one, and I've got some of my saws and cordless drills in them.
A rubber band wrapped a few times around the bundle of zip ties works like a champ and is auto adjusting too, and not bulky.
Hair ties from the dollar store is what I use

I’ll have a look at them 👍🏻
If you cut a little slit in the middle of the zip tie bag they don't fall out and you can just stick a finger in the slit and pull out what you need.
Zip ties : I just cut a finger size slit in the package about ⅞ of the way up & just BEND one out as i need it. They can't fall out this way.
