The British are very great at making mixing consoles: Neve, SSL, API. Bloody marvellous of them
API is American. The other 2 Neve & SSL are British.
API are USA owned and manufactured.
@@joesalyers okay, my bad. Always thought API was British
@@mrdenson3101Its fine, I'm sure a lot of people think API is British as well. Ironically Rupert Neve Designs is located in Texas, so America stole Neve away from Neve LOL
@@joesalyers the guy on the video is filming from Burnley, Lancashire ( England ). I think in today’s very small world international collaboration is the way to go
We need a total in depth Black video, Ins out for modern and traditional work flow. Daw control etc as someone who maybe selling his console there needs to be more of this. !
What a beauty
what an incredible product
It's always that classic, beautiful Neve sound - just in a smaller format with modern features.
The only thing I didn’t like when I demo this a few years ago was, all the eq and dynamics are only controlled by the plugin. There is no physical pots on the console where you can reach out and twist knobs. Yes, it’s completely recallable which is great but you have to open/close each track plug-in window and use the mouse to adjust parameters. So, it felt way slower to mix on that a traditional desk with physical eq’s and dynamics. Overall I was pretty impressed and depending on your workflow, this could be an amazing console for the modern studio
They should come out with a dedicated controller for their plugin/digitally controlled EQs & Dynamics if they don't have one yet
Man what a great comment. In terms of depth, how does it stand with the Origin?
Thank you! I was really excited about this console till I read your comment. Thanks for the heads up.
That's not entirely true. There are four encoders in the center section of the console that can be used to control EQ and dynamics.
That being said, I think that this way of interacting with the EQ and dynamics is the weak spot of this console. It reminds me more of how you would work with a cheap, digital live mixer than a flagship recording console.
Hello! The console has four dedicated encoders placed in the centre section that can focus on and control any channel EQ locally. In fact, this design has many benefits to on-channel EQ controls; for one, it is much faster to EQ channels while remaining in the stereo sweet spot.
Yes, please!
Who the hell is a bedroom producer and can afford this ? Plz tell me, really curious to see a bedroom setup with such a console.
Neve Genesys = SUPER !!!
Just Amazing!! 👍👏👏👏👏👏
I would love to see a new rundown on this and the black console. Daw control, Setup, Running through a mix, Stems Printing stems, Utilizing the digital I/O For Auxes and reverb returns, Hardware Integration. As someone who is looking to make a change perhaps with my current console And are looking At this and a duality. I think its long over due! Pizza for the boys if its a rock track lol take a real mix 40-80 tracks and lets see how its done on one of these bad boys.
Neve Genesys Evangelion
I can't wait to hit the Powerball.
Great Video. 😃👍♥️
Awesome!!!❤❤💯💯
It's about time that analog consoles got an overhaul. Too many factory's just rely on the same concept they had since the 70'ies. Analog consoles should have digital controls, DAW control and a built in ad/da converter..... Live technology evolves and studio technology lacks all forms of progression
yes yes an ideal bedroom stduio console........budgetwise)
Only if it didn’t cost as much as a house I’d love to own one 😂
For the bedroom producer with an extra 50k???
Question for Sweetwater/Neve: Does it sound better than the BCM 10 mkii? Please be honest. Thank you.
Really cool, only if SSL could mak a 4000-E version out of this
Its about mixing in the box ..😅with the daw ...just a daw ....whos with me ????😋😋🥳
Is it 16 Mono tracks with pan capability or 16 stereo tracks with a right and a left channel in each track.
Most likely mono
I don’t know… my Mackie is pretty good!
If you're going to upload a 21:9 aspect ratio video, then upload it as 21:9. Don't upload it in a 16:9 format as the black bars at the top and bottom are wasted space. Some people actually have 21:9 ultra widescreen monitors, so a letterboxed 16:9 video like this has bars on the top and bottom and both sides, making your video framing look ridiculous. UA-cam can easily handle a 21:9 aspect ratio video and will automatically add bars, if needed, to the end user's monitor or phone screen.
Chill out nerd
We were looking for a console for our studio and were stuck between the genesys and the ssl duality. Both consoles lack in someway or another. We are a film studio and neither of these consoles have the modern workflow necessary. The live studio desks are much better in terms of modernization(But lacking analog) and i wish these analog desks would be more like their live desk counterparts in terms of modern workflow. Thees analog desks are outdated in the following ways:
1. Neither allow for total recall of every parameter of the board. Its only partial. We are always switching between different projects so this is a must. Neve is better than ssl in this regard but still lacking.
2. No dante integration
3. Lack of onboard processing ( most iconic emulation plugins: reverb, eqs, delays, etc )
4. Proper dolby atmos and surround sound workflow. The workflow for dolby atmos on the Neve is quite bad. Its better to just do it in the daw. In my opinion its not useable. Look at how nicely its implemented on live consoles such as SSL or even yamaha.
All in all these consoles are seriously outdated. The first to produce an analog console with true modern workflow will win the market.
AFAIK they have the Neve Digital Film Console (DFC). Wouldn't that suit you probably...?
@@galgogergo no its a purely digital console and it’s outdated in my opinion. SSL has a similar digital desk for post production but more up to date (System T ). They both lack analog processing. We are looking for analog desk with modern digital workflow.
Neve just released a dolby version of their genesys black with dante. Maybe that's closer to what you need
Thanks I will check it out
hope someday #shedtears
For "bedroom producers", yeah right😂😂😂
It's only $45k-$130k. Oh, wait, you're not in Radiohead?
@@Scott__C I guess the 88RS is for living room producers then
While it is funny, I think I can understand what he means. Pete Townshend of The Who just installed a similar sized Audient console in his home studio, which is about the size of a bedroom. And, there are plenty of hip hop producers selling beats out of a bedroom that could afford this investment. Funny the way he put it, but it *sorta* makes sense.
Hahaha bedroom producers!!? Bro.. this is almost $100k … what bedroom producer can buy this? What a joke
Rockstars, who prefer to work in their bedroom. That makes it an extreme niche product.
@@pulsarstar show me a bedroom this can fit inside lol
Although a very powerful set up, choice of colors could not be worse than this. You need a designer. Pronto.
Lol. They are trying to be cutting edge and still lagging far behind what they should be doing especially for the price point
Laptop
Always one dummy in the comments. It’s YOU! Congratulations
