    Thanks for the video. My new California is in order from your place of work and all these videos are really helping me to get to know more,. I’ll probably have to watch them again once it’s here lol.

      California Chris I’m a complete novice when it comes to camping. Can you do a video about the water system? Do I need to treat the water, how do you fill or empty it. How long should the water stay in the tank? Should it be emptied regularly. Sorry for the questions but I want to get things right.

      Hi Lynda. This video is a little bit outdated (2018) but a lot of the content will still be relevant: ua-cam.com/video/jsTGbDgA81M/v-deo.html
      We will make a new video on this for 2020 ASAP.

    A couple of roof related questions, do you think there is any benefit in a roof bungee, and also is it safe to have the roof up in a high wind?

    Hi Chris I have a 18 month ocean which sags on one side after two days with the roof up causing the roof lights to stop working it has already been in to vw leicester 3 times and is booked in again in august for the same problem the passenger side canvas remains tight whereas the drivers side flaps you can see a difference in the ram position why can’t it be sorted ?

    How come your ‘ignition alarm’ doesn’t sound, while you have the door open? Thanks for an answer if there is any

    Hi would you recommend the roof bungee sold by campervantatic/California club ?

      @RICHANDLISA1 4 роки тому +1

      Peter Coombs I have one on mine which came from Campervantastic , for the sake of a few pounds its worth getting if it saves your bellows imo.

    Can I carry a kayak on the roof and how would that work? Would I need to buy roof rails or does the roof use a slot system or...?

    Great video and many thanks for all the videos. Very informative.
    I’m somewhat of a newbie in this field and am really just beginning to look into the Camper Market and wondered if you could either do a video (or reply to this comment) regarding the differences between a factory made Cali Ocean 6.1 compared to a converted Transporter high line 6.1.
    The main thing I’m interested in is the ‘feel’ of the vehicle. My wife and I recently hired a lovely new T6.1 Transporter 150bhp 5 speed manual converted camper and couldn’t help but feel we were driving a van and by this I refer mainly to the noise inside the cab, the lack of any real engine power when going uphills etc (obvious I know but I hope you get my drift.)
    I was wondering if the Cali Ocean is less like a van when driving given it’s a factory fitted product and the DSG gearbox or is there very little difference in the driving experience between both. Would you recommend the 190bhp version - does that produce a more ‘car-like’ experience? Hope this all makes sense.

    Possibly a silly question, but what if it rains during the night? Is it waterproof considering the vents etc?

    • @CaliforniaChris
      @CaliforniaChris  4 роки тому

      Hi Mike, we'll cover this in one of our next videos, but yes the fabric is now waterproof and you'd find very little water coming in through the upper vents as they're actually under cover of the solid roof.

    It would be awesome to be able to open the roof without having the key IN and turning the lights on(since they are in AUTO)

    • @CaliforniaChris
      @CaliforniaChris  4 роки тому

      The only suggestion I've got is to turn the lights to 'Off' for the short time it would take to put the roof up.
