This wasn't long after The Amazing Spider-Man #121-122 better known as The Night Gwen Stacy Died marking a darker turn for Spider-Man and newly introduced characters like The Punisher. if you recall back to Spider-Man 2 and the scene of MJ running through Central Park in her wedding dress, semi slow motion you could see Thomas Jane's stunt double in the back ground turning around to look at MJ.
