Mason and I both dug the shoes! I've been wearing the previous version Specialized 2FO for quite awhile now and I've also been in the Giro Chamber II a bit. These Cambers feel very similar, but might be a bit more comfortable when it comes to walking around and hiking back up the trail.
The neoprene sock is legit! It brings the comfort up a notch and provides a great spot to tuck the laces in. I even had a bit of a moment and I clipped a tree on the way down a trail. The shoe offered a decent amount of protection in that instance.
I tied the laces when we started our ride and tightened down the velcro strap, it was the last time I touched them until we finished.
We're only one ride in, but I'm pretty pumped on them. I'll check back in with a longer term review in a few months.

My strength training and my riding has benefited greatly from LMNT. (Non-paid review) Salt is the number one athletic performance supplement. LMNT is not the only way, but it’s convenient and tastes good. A touch of Himalayan pink salt to a bottle of water also works well and tastes good with the right ratio.

I have a pair of those and find it to be extremely difficult to clip in and unclip with my Crankbrothers Mallet E’s. Even with a shim they seem to have too deep of a cleat channel. My Rideconcepts Transitions work just fine with just a shield as suggested by RC.

Good stuff. I would love to see a review of the Magpeds peddles. I like the idea of clipless but am hesitant as I build my bike skills. Looking at the Magpeds as a steppingstone from flat to clipless.

My honest opinion would be to go head first into clips. Don't build false confidence on mags, clips aren't that hard to get in and out of, practice on the grass for a good hour track standing and kicking out. Keep your knee pads on for the first while because you'll inevitably just fall over sideways at least once, NBD.

How’s the sizing compared to those vans slip ons?

    • @etnies

Most of our shoes run true to size. The Camber Crank and Culvert run a bit tight, so most people ride those half a size bigger. Hope that helps!
