When I was pregnant with my first child my father told me...If it's a boy name him John like John Wayne because that's a strong name. I had a girl. My father passed away last year so I hope somewhere up there he and John Wayne are having a beer together.

Ahhh the Duke!! Love him! My mom was a HUGE fan!
While they were filming The Alamo in Texas he would come into San Antonio on filming breaks and stay at I believe the old Gunter Hotel. One day my mom,who worked just next door to the hotel ran to the hotel coffee shop just in time to see him get up and walk away. Lol! She saw that famous "John Wayne walk" and froze! Lol!! I always teased her about blowing the chance to say Hi! Great moment and fabulous vlog!

Another wonderful vlog! John Wayne may not have served his country in the military, but he was the greatest public relations asset for it in film after film.

Eat where you want to, Jordan. It’s nice to support locally owned businesses where are you reside instead of the nationally known chain restaurants. I tried to, as much as possible, support the locally owned businesses where I live.

Great video! It is often said Wayne was not a great actor because he always played a version of himself so similar as often to be confused with his real persona. The truth is John Wayne was a great actor because from his very first performances, the audience felt the emotions John portrayed which is all the more amazing because Wayne's characters were often gruff non-verbal men who would have denied their feelings if questioned about them. Wayne was a great actor and a star, something very few have achieved.

Honestly my father was 30 yers old with 4 children when he was drafted and sent to fight in the Philippines. None the less I don’t care that he didn’t serve. I imagine he didn’t feel good about not being in service.

Mr Wayne liked to drive around Newport in his customized station wagon. Because of his height he had six inches added to the height of the roof line of the car

Glad you took us to see the grave of John Wayne's grave. I love his movies. Great tribute to him and the others that you visited. Sad drunk driving tribute. It was very powerful. My wife and I eat at Jersey Mikes all the time. Good stuff. That's the sandwich I order. I messaged Stefan the other day to wish him the best in getting married. He appreciated it. Thanks for the vlog as always Jordan!

You really do a great job with these videos man I just recently got turned on to them one night when I was on UA-cam surfing around after well, burning down a little bit I guess ha ha, but you really do a good job. Its interesting to see the graves of celebrities and stuff, a little morbid curiosity I suppose but I guess we all have a little bit of that inside of us. I liked when you went to the dearly departed place that was pretty cool too and I actually helped Scott once in 2001 when I sent him pictures of Dale Earnhardt's car and he gave me credit on the website which was a pretty cool thing to happen I love what he does and I love what you do so keep it up man great job!

Duke was Duke!! He put a huge measure of his own personality into most of his films. That's why, when he would do interviews or met fans, he was essentially the same guy that you saw in the movies. Duke was literally the same man in life as the characters that he played in the movies.

Hey Jordan. Fantastic vlog. Loved seeing the grave site of John Wayne, and others that followed. Always great seeing you and Breck. I always feel like the three of us are out on some adventure. Very comforting really. Even though we've never been formally introduced, it still seems like we've known each other for a long time. Anyhow, thanks for the Jersey Mike's review. I cant believe someone would bitch about the prior food location vlogs, and their lack of availability. Man, it just blows me a way. I mean, be grateful your vlogging something every day already.... Its always difficult parting from Jah I'm sure, but he's in good hands. Breck equally loves that dog..... Speaking of which, did I hear correctly that Breck is contemplating moving? Yikes...... I know he's been a really great friend over the years...... I think you had mentioned possibly moving as well..... Well, keep your chin up Jordan. Thanks again for being there, and continuing to provide such awesome vlogs. I appreciate your friendship. Take care, rock on, and I'll catch you on the next vlog..... Arthur Childs, Oak Harbor, WA.

What a beautiful cemetery I love the windchime trees! Very nice memorial for the victims of drunk driving so sad for their families. You and Breck really found a lot of people buried there! I loved John Wayne I think my favorite movie was McLintock. I didn't realize that he died so long ago. It was so sad to lose Bobby Hatfield but his beautiful voice lives on. I watched a lot of MTV in the day so I heard a lot of Quiet Riot and will forever love the song Come on feel the Noise. Thank God for Bob Wian! I love Big Boy! Ours went out in town so my friends and I travel to either Troy or Richmond to get our sandwich & onion rings fixes! I remember seeing Paul Crouch and his wife on TV. I admit I really didn't listen to them but as a hairdresser I was just amazed at her fake hair!! I did not realize she had also died. What a great vlog! I am enjoying seeing Breck with you too! Thanks Jordan!

John Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa. Huge statue of him there, his birth home is now a museum, have a little park and bigger museum there also..
His dad went to Simpson College in Indianola Iowa 27 miles away. His grandfather Micheal Marion Morrison was the Warren County Treasurer. John was named after him. His father played football for Simpson College and got his pharmacist degree. After graduation his father got a job in the Drugstore on South side of Winterset Square. John had a dog named " Duke". He would walk his dog around the square to his dad's Drugstore, the barber shop , Cafe etc and. Everyone called them Big Duke and little Duke. Thus his nickname. His grandparents home in Indianola is beautiful home just 5 blocks from our home. It's a big home with large porch and many large steps. I imagine a small toddler John crawling up those steps and playing in the big yard as a child visiting his grandparents.. New owners found the big Morrison family Bible in back of a closet with births deaths etc written in it.. It was given to a Morrison family in Indianola who are cousins. WINTERSET IS GREAT LITTLE TOWN WITH SO MUCH JOHN WAYNE . Info for you Jason that few know.

I was wondering what happened to Paul and Jan Crouch, they were always interesting for many different reasons. The Duke gets a bad rap for his social/political views, he was what we would call today a Constitutional Conservative and was supportive of minority rights long before the Left claimed it as their own. I watched this vlog right after watching the Mummies of Mexico, so it has been a "very uplifting hour" Thanks Big J and see you back down in ole' Mexico.

I worked at Gelsons market in Newport Beach next to the cementary where he is buried. I wish I would have known st the time I could have visited him . I loved Wayne. My fatherinlaw is also buried there. The late great Kobe Bryant and his daughter.

John Wayne invited me on yacht Wild Goose! Took me to rear station/fancy carved wooden bar, then gave me tour of entire yacht. Took back of my head an held my head near bilge for me too see how clean bilge water! Met Ben Johnson on board! When I saw Ben, I say, my dad thinks your best horseman in all Hollywood (then realized I'm standing next to John Wayne telling Ben Johnson he's best horseman! Oops! But John Wayne just toasted my father, raised his glass an said, "your fathers a smart man!" Tim

He was such a staunch Republican that he,I believe, during Vietnam war was the phrase “love it or leave it “ and did the movie “green beret”. He was also great in” the quiet man. “

The Quiet Man classic......she wore a yellow ribbon and so many westerns..heard he initially had lung cancer, but think he was taken by stomach cancer. Someone I once knew said that back in the day when her mother was younger and looked like a model, her mother saw the Duke in a London landmark shopping store, he was with his wife and he was eyeing up her mother, and the Duke's wife was not pleased at all, and she walked off with the huff.
