It's more like rust. I feel like runescape should step up their game and turn runescape from a click intensive game into games like this. It's so much more player intuitive and fun
This game is awesome! Even with gameplay loops you can get lost in little side quests that you start with a friend. Last night, my brother and I had our companions killed in combat. So we waged a full on war with the entire tribe and depleted every single resource from their base. Three times. For good measure. Never again shall we fall to the flint tribe!!!
I am super impressed with this game. Cannot wait for release. One of the few survival games i have played recently where i didn't feel i needed mods to overcome oversites.

demo is available until 15th may 2024 game releases to EA 18th June. ive played the demo on official sever to test it out. love it so much but there are some things that still need balancing the combat is actually kinda bad on official as enemies will teleport around as your fighting. it gets worse the more enemies there are. this doesnt seem to be an issue with the single player. the devs have been taking feedback and doing patches, but so far they seem to be breaking it more. IF they fix the problems before release this game will be worth the buy
I dont think they are bullet sponguey. I can throw my spear at a head and when i hit, less than 30n away. Rich mask has range finder btw, it will one shot lvl 20 barbarians at the main fortress in rainforest. U HAVE to keep ur gear up to snuff
I think Combat still needs balancing for basic weapon attacks. Alot of them seem ineffective and find myself spamming the same 1 or 2 attacks becuase the other ones suck.
I just downloaded this game a week ago and I love it but as an OCD base organizer in Ark, this game hurts my soul. It wouldn't be bad if there was a flawless resource pull system. Sometimes it seems to pull my hardwood handles into the inventory of the bench I'm using and then other times I'm searching through the 5 out of 13 workbenches that uses that part for that part, outside of that 1 major/minor issue I think this game is awesome. My dinos were useless when at base, my tribesmen are most useful at base.
2 things I'm really put off by is the REQUIREMENT of the control system, and the automation aspect. I'm sure I'm just missing something with the automation, because it feels like there's obvious stuff that's missing, such as an early game example "Take all 'dishes' out of the bonfire" Can't do that at all I'm finding. But the control part is REALLY offputting. Don't have me create a character that I'll abandon at first opportunity. Especially with an ARPG style leveling and combat system. I'd take being capped at 50, and you'd have to absorb characters to raise your cap. Especially since your character is the respawning one. You'll eventually just get the respawning table for your tribesman and just death run your stuff back and bring them back to life. Cut out the middleman and let me play the chief. Especially painful since your chief doesn't do anything while you control someone else. I'll probably just wait for a "main character 120 mod" and then enjoy the game
I know that there's a way to resurrect tribesmembers with their levels and proficiencies in tact, but I think this game really does suffer by not having a true protagonist. The game is a grindfest and losing a leveled character is a big setback that just doesn't have to be. Considering that you can suck information out of scouts on the map, it would have been better if we could do the same to increase knowledge/proficiency caps on one main character. All the other mechanics are fine. Not a great experience at all for min/max completionists.
It was fun when i played in alpha test. I've heard it was kinda like Conan when doing the "companion taming." Never played conan so it was weird at first for myself.
im enjoying it so far, deff gonna buy it on release. i wish we could hide the masks though coz they look shit lol the "taming and gathering intel" is such a rip off of shadow of war though lol everytime i do i shout you serve the bright lord now! my only con i found was how long it takes to tame, fighting and dominating them with the mask is action packed and interesting, then its back to knitting while we wait for them to wake up..... it was boring in ark its boring in this too. cant we give them the food and keep them under guard as they walk back to camp with us, or allow us to put them on the back of mounts or something, carrying them home at 1mph or camp and wait isnt very exciting
@neddy I played the beta demo for soulmask and love the game. I'm excited for the beta release and I will be playing the further. But I am a little worried about a rumor I read that the dev"s are based in the same building with snail games. Have you heard this and would this be concerning for you?

Can you find the other starter masks inside the game? Also the fact "your" char can only get to lvl 50 is what makes me not get it instantly.

You can get tribe members but cant take them to your battles? With all the copy and paste coding, they should have looked for one.
You can ‘deploy’ them and they will follow you and fight with you.
Yah I had 6k hours in Conan this game takes mine 15k for sure
