You gotta love the guys switching between English and Norwegian seamlessly, and no subtitles... One must acknowledge the intellectual superiority of Scandinavians :D
This is a real gem. I've never heard Knopfler talk on TV like that, and I've been a fan since the first Straits album came out in '79. My dad was a Scot, so the accent is warm fuzzy for me now. By the way, music lovers, the song that was given an impromptu performance about 4 minutes in, "Sweet Old World", was written by a very talented singer/songwriter from Texas: Lucinda Williams.
Good grief! She's not just the best singer in the world, but the most beautiful and the sweetest--you are my idol, Emmy!! Why do you think she has had plastic surgery? I have followed her since the beginning of time--I don't see it.
Mark has a wonderful sense of humor. I love the song 'I Dug Up A Diamond'. Mark and Emmylou sound great together.
Great combination of talent. Song is so deep, and heart felt... I just love it...
two great artists, two great people. and she is just a beautiful beautiful graceful woman.
Man, she is something! I've always loved her!

Thanks 😂 Very kind of you🙏 / Carin in Sweden
Classic! What more can be said. A Gal who can sing, ,and a Guy who can Zing.
15yrs ago... Who would have guessed it...
that bloke is VERY brave to sing one of Emmy's songs in front of her.
Thought it was very sweet and touching. A song creates a place of intimacy between the artist and the listener...even for those that have just met!
He says (in norwegian) that he had to stop because he was about to start crying..

Thanks for the video! Nice interview--but boy, Emmylou has definitely sounded better.
Man, she is so ..ly
It really happened something between that tour and the KTGC tour. He turned like 10 years in just two.
Always good to see Robbie McIntosh playing with Mark.
"I always sound sad when I sing anyway". lol
Hello??? Mark wrote the song...
Emmylou Harris singing a duet and all is well w/ the world.
a great uk /usa event
Yeh, the bass and drums are relentless in this live performance.
The guy sings in front of Emmylou Harris and plays guitar in front of Mark Knopfler. No pressure.

If I look at pictures, I think they look nice together, but did they have tea or only music?
This interviewer is hilarious, trying to get his pal a date with Emmy, asking a few questions about the "old couple", very cute lol.
Lol! Nå har vel Mark Knopfler vært på dette programmet minst fire, og kanskje 5 ganger?
What's his name ???? great tune
Peter Duffin h
Peter Duffin Mark Knofler....Dire Straits
LOL. The interviewer. Not Mark
The interviewer is a complete moron that's for sure.
Dont marks Wife get jelous over this Emily bussinnes i wonder whats going on there
Emmylou Harris voice is out of tune. And the tempo is to fast. A bad soundmix.
