@@LelakiKerdus That is easily releasing over 10 times that amount of gas that a regular burner would. Even 5 minutes of this is like leaving your stove on for an hour. It's also nothing like comparing sprinting to long distance because both of those activities generate ATP from different sources. Sprinting is anaerobic and doesn't use oxygen, that's why you can't do it for very long. It's just the glycogen that's immediately available in your muscles. Long distance running is aerobic and burns fat, though at a significantly slower rate, which is why you can run for a long time but not very fast. You can't compare the complexity of the Krebs Cycle to a gas burner. Not at all the same thing.
For those wondering, the 'caramel' he poured is most likely kecap manis which is sweet soy sauce. Update: based on the comments there's also something called 'karamel masakan' which is similar to kecap manis but less sweet so chef probably used this instead.

@@nichevo1 no problem. It's a regional ingredient used in southeast asian cuisine like Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore so not always available if your local grocer sells only East Asian products. The brand to get is ABC which I suspect he used in this vid. The palm sugar molasses is what gives its dark syrup consistency.
