Ricardo Carrera why? OSU made it in without winning a conference championship. ND will make it in without winning a conference championship. It’s about the 4 best teams, not the conference champions. If OU and OSU lose and UGA plays bama close, I bet UGA makes it in with 2 losses.
Whichever team makes it should be 3, Notre Dame should be 4. Ohio State back in 2016 dropped from 2 to 3 after beating #3 Michigan, because they didn’t play a conference championship, if Notre Dame bears 5-6 USC, And doesn’t play one, they should absolutely drop as well
Right and don't even bring up the TT game. If they didn't loose their 1st string QB Sooners would have been upset..and they nearly we're with Texas Tech's 3rd string QB.
The only reason OU lost to TX was that on the first two drives Kyler Murray threw interceptions. How unusual is that? Even so, TX only won by a field goal.
Oklahoma averages 50pts a game on offense and gives up 33pts on defense. Ohio St averages 43pts on offense and gives up 26pts on defense. 17pt difference for both schools. The committee has a tough decision to make should both teams take care of business on Saturday.
Stephene Smith What happened the last time OU and Alabama met? OU had a slightly better defense but OU moved the ball up and down the field on Alabama and put them out of the comfort zone.
This year they have the worst defense and a different coach. This year year, Alabama also has an elite QB. Not to mention this is the college playoffs versus playing Bama who was unmotivated because they lost their chance to play the title. They could care less about a 3rd place bowl. You really think that’s happening this year considering all of that?
OU 52-27 TCU Stats Total Yards 536-275 Ohio State 40-28 TCU Stats Total Yards 526-511. This 1 common opponent should give OU the advantage, but we will see. Oklahoma @ TCU and Ohio State vs. TCU in Jerry's World
Why in the living garbage are we talking about previous years? This is part of the reason the system is flawed. There are different years and different teams every years. Ohio State was flawed last year... They are flawed this year, but no.2 total offense and the defense can play well enough to win out. Also Oklahoma getting the benefit of the doubt because they play Texas again is garbage. Put Ohio State against Purdue again and watch what the final score would be. ESPN hates the BigTen and loves the SEC/BIG12. Ohio State deserves to be in. They have had so much criticism and controversy this year and to be 11-1 with a chance to win the BigTen and a 23-point win over Michigan and a chance to win the big ten. If they get left out the playoff WILL be expanded to 8 teams in the next 3 years. It's that simple. Also ESPN, can we get impartial judgement on these teams? Ohio State's defense has been bad this year but to say Ohio State's defense is comparable to Oklahoma's is disrespectful. I appreciate other opinions so feel free to share.
As a Bama fan I haven't thought we should get in with a loss to Georgia, but if both teams play great and Georgia wins on a last possession score that changes things, if Bama loses cuz they turn the ball over 4 times and just doesn't play well then no they won't get in. But if both teams look great then the committee wouldn't have a problem putting Bama in over a team with a 29 point loss and another with an embarrassing defense
did you even read what I said, I hadn't thought we should get in, meaning if Michigan and Notre Dame won out we shouldn't get in over either of them by losing our last game, but if we play poorly and lose to Georgia the committee isn't putting us in, if we play great and lose in the last minute the committee knows we're better than either of those teams, I'm no fake Bama fan, just know how the system works, and like David said committee still might not put us in with a close loss because they don't want same in playoff
Yea I know things we say get repeated from time to time, but if we look this who had the worst loss amongst the two team? Ohio State, and btw, it's this year, forget what happened 4, 3, 2 years ago ....

Richard R. Pond I’ve been reading a ton of comments and all the people who said Georgia is going to get blown out by 20 and Bama is putting up 50+ were all Bama fans
Mack Brown is a nice and was once a great coach. But at 67 he is just too old to try and build up a college football program. I guess north carolina has given up on competing against Clemson in the ACC.
I think MS State would beat Oklahoma this year with their defense. Ohio State is sometiming. Play one game great then play the next horrifically. Depends on which Ohio State team you get that day. Notre Dame? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Clemson really is a thing because of Deshawn Watson. Trust me, they will not be as powerful in the playoffs this year. Georgia is rising more and more. Offense still needs just a bit more improvement but Kirby got them boys on the right track. Alabama finally has an elite QB and the same stingy defense, enough said.
Could you imagine if it was Alabama Clemson Notre Dame and Oklahoma? That would be boring as fuck. At least you got a rematch game if OSU is in. Bama v Bucks
The reason why Ohio state got into the playoffs the first time is because Baylor and Tcu was argue about who is better. Both of em had the same record but Baylor beat tcu in the high scoring game. But i think that year tcu was the best team in the country
Everybody is gonna get an aneurysm if Georgia beats Bama in a close game. Ain’t no way in hell the committee will leave the Tide out for OSU or OU. Doesn’t matter how bad they beat their conference championship opponent. If you don’t believe me, just let that scenario play out and see what happens. You can argue all you like, but I’m telling you what’s gonna happen. If Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio State win, your four will be Bama, Clemson, Norte Dame, and Oklahoma, maybe Norte Dame and Oklahoma flip flop, but that will be your four. Ohio State’s only hope is for Alabama to win and Oklahoma to lose. If Bama loses, both Oklahoma and Ohio State are screwed unless 7-5 Pitt pulls a miracle upset.
@Blake Ware if Georgia wins and they still put Bama in it will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and forces the 8 team playoff expansion. This would be a nightmare scenario. People would demand a new system more than ever.
@@wickedoutdooradventures6694 Statistic wise there is probably not 4 teams that would be favored to win over the tide. At some point though the system has to be corrected 8 team playoff would balance out between the most deserving teams and the best teams. If we just keep going by the 4 best then conference championship really doesn't mean anything and needs to be done away with since Notre Dame doesn't play one anyway. CFP has only been around a few years and people are already pretty furious and it's not just because of Alabama either. The rankings have a lot to do with it as well and there is some discontent with the bowl game pairings at the end of the season too. We need to do away with preseason rankings and not rank teams until after week 6
You demean tOSU opponents Maryland (who beat Texas 2 years in a row), Nebraska (who won 4 of their last 6, losing only to Iowa on a last second FG and tOSU), and Purdue (who beat Boston College by 17; Clemson beat BC by 20), yet no mention is made of OU's close calls with Texas Tech, OkSt, ISU, and Kansas, teams with a combined record of 21-26. OU also needed OT to get past Army, who is going to end up with a nice record, but only played two Power 5 teams and lost to both - the other was Duke, who pounded them 34-14. I get it , though. It's not in your best interest to present ALL of the facts when some of them don't support your narrative.
Here is the real question. We have let teams in the playoffs that didn't play in conference championship game at all. But should a team that loses on there championship game be aloud in the playoffs. I got a problem. With that.
@@butchthurman4685 See, thats you whiney fans problem. You want it your way or no way cuz of the hate yall have. The committee said that conference championships and the other indicators come into play when it is questionable who is the better team. @Don P Naaaah. You were wrong if you think about it. It is because the following year J.T. Barrett won the job back from Cardale. They are different quarterbacks, and J.T. has most all the OSU records.

@Don P no. But almost lost to Army, Kansas, OSU because of a failed 2pt just like the Maryland game. OSU has 2 Better wins then OU first Ranked win (Michigan and Penn State). If OU plays Texas close and OSU blows out Northwestern then OSU deserves the spot.
Which is exactly why Urbs will curb stomp Northwestern. Anyone who knows squat about football can see the obvious talent deficiency when Northwestern lines up against teams like anOSU. The media is creating this scenario where a team will run up the score and try to obliterate the opponent to get to the play off. They did it in 2014 against Wisky and they will do it this year too. Either way anOSU does not deserve being in the play off. Michigan was a paper tiger with their ancient offense and frankly even though anOSU is more talented than OU they have not played that way at all this season. I’m not saying these guys don’t have an argument against OSU but it does feel like there’s a resentment against them or something.
sorry but if Georgia loses to alabama that should be considered a playoff lose.
Ohio State back in 2016 dropped from 2 to 3 after beating #3 Michigan, because they didn’t play a conference championship, if Notre Dame bears 5-6 USC, And doesn’t play one, they should absolutely drop as well
Oklahoma struggled alot this year hell has Oklahoma state quarterback threw the ball a split second sooner game over
Right and don't even bring up the TT game. If they didn't loose their 1st string QB Sooners would have been upset..and they nearly we're with Texas Tech's 3rd string QB.
6 or 8 team playoff!
They have a 8 team playoff now thats why we have conference championships.....Check out my channel brother
Why talk about this now.? Oklahoma will lose to Texas!
I can guarantee if Oklahoma drops 30 on Bama, Bama will drop 50 on Oklahoma.
Richard Anderson what happened when OU faced UGA last year?
What if OSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Clemson all lose this weekend. That would be fucking hilarious
OU 52-27 TCU Stats Total Yards 536-275
Ohio State 40-28 TCU Stats Total Yards 526-511. This
1 common opponent should give OU the advantage, but we will see. Oklahoma @ TCU and Ohio State vs. TCU in Jerry's World
Did he say cutting up???
When is Desmond gonna crawl out of his rock of shame?
So what if Oklahoma, Ohio st. And Georgia lose? Would UCF be in?
Dale Clapper makes more sense to compare the Big10 to Big12. Rather then them comparing OSU to last years team.
As a Bama fan I haven't thought we should get in with a loss to Georgia, but if both teams play great and Georgia wins on a last possession score that changes things, if Bama loses cuz they turn the ball over 4 times and just doesn't play well then no they won't get in. But if both teams look great then the committee wouldn't have a problem putting Bama in over a team with a 29 point loss and another with an embarrassing defense
you would put Ohio with a loss to Purdue and Oklahoma with a loss to Texas in over bama.fake fan roll tide
did you even read what I said, I hadn't thought we should get in, meaning if Michigan and Notre Dame won out we shouldn't get in over either of them by losing our last game, but if we play poorly and lose to Georgia the committee isn't putting us in, if we play great and lose in the last minute the committee knows we're better than either of those teams, I'm no fake Bama fan, just know how the system works, and like David said committee still might not put us in with a close loss because they don't want same in playoff
+Jim McEwen so who would be the best 1 lost team???
OU, Ohio State lost to Purdue..... -bama fan here
Literally read the same comment 4 years ago as "tcu, ohio state lost to Virginia tech.. bama fan btw" jeez
Yea I know things we say get repeated from time to time, but if we look this who had the worst loss amongst the two team? Ohio State, and btw, it's this year, forget what happened 4, 3, 2 years ago ....
1) Clemson 2) ND 3) UCF 4) UGA 5) Bama
I hope Mack Brown will send me a What's A Tar Heel ???? TShirt!.
Oklahoma...based on consistency
Mitchell Merck hard to say when they don’t play anyone
What that song call?
Hay these dudes hate ohio st every yr too same old hate for the bucks look OU only played 2 ranked teams all season ok think about it they lost to 1 whom texas and won by 3 to whom west V ohio st played 4 ranked teams and beat them all and 1 of whom michigan they were under dogs ohio st should be in oh and northwestern makes it 5 ranked teams no won else has beaten 5 ranked teams thus yr
elliott howard Michigan was overrated as fuck and it showed
+Derrick Meade he has a good point.remember Texas beat ou and Texas has 3 losses and one of them is Maryland.
hahah lol didn’t buckeyes almost lose to Maryland but got saved by luck?
@@derrickmeade4891 yeah and didnt bama actually play citadel lol lol i will never for give bama for that one smh
@@derrickmeade4891 also OU went to ot with army won ib the same fashion as ohio st lets keep this going buddy
So everyone is just going to pencil in Bama blowing out Georgia? Foh 😂
I guess so lol. The disrespect is real.
Don P everyone including Bama fans think this will be a blowout and Bama will put up 50+ and win by 20+
@@codywest2755, you're the first I've heard say that! Roll Tide
cody west nah it’s gonna be a game under 40 points for both sides, but Alabama should, and I mean SHOULD, win by around 10
Richard R. Pond I’ve been reading a ton of comments and all the people who said Georgia is going to get blown out by 20 and Bama is putting up 50+ were all Bama fans
Oklahoma may be better off replacing their defense with the cheerleaders
Texas will win the big 12 👑 and play Georgia in the sugar bowl. OSU will play bama in the Cfp
slofever512 and get destroyed
@@derrickmeade4891 who's getting destroyed
slofever512 Texas, and Ohio state
slofever512 and before you say they beat Michigan, Michigan’s defense was overrated as it could be lol
@@derrickmeade4891 lol who is gonna destroy Texas
You can’t bring up Iowa lol...
Bamas the best but Clemson and georgia would also beat ND Osu Oklahoma ROLL TIDE were in we win
If you want to hear talk devoid of logic, this is it... SMH... It's all opinion...
The reason why Ohio state got into the playoffs the first time is because Baylor and Tcu was argue about who is better. Both of em had the same record but Baylor beat tcu in the high scoring game. But i think that year tcu was the best team in the country
I think you are right TCU would have most likely took the Title that year over the other teams.
@@needz2feed sounds crazy but you might just be right.
@@needz2feed If bama loses name 4 teams that would be favored to win against the tide?....Check out my channel brother
needz2feed, you may be right, but I’m telling you, in that scenario, that’s what’s gonna happen. People better prepare for that.
With that.
Thats because yall dont understand what "4 best teams" mean.
@@breshaunmyleek9080 I got a pretty good idea. Let's just stop playing the championship games then. If they don't mean anything.
@@butchthurman4685 See, thats you whiney fans problem. You want it your way or no way cuz of the hate yall have. The committee said that conference championships and the other indicators come into play when it is questionable who is the better team. Remind me when it was ever a question that Bama was better than Oklahoma or Notre Dame? Georgia isnt getting in without a conference championship because they have not separated themselves like Bama. Is Washington on Alabamas level just because they made their conference ship? No. It doesnt even matter because Bama is going to steamroll Georgia.
@@breshaunmyleek9080 what is the point in playing them? If you can loose and still go what is the point. Let's use them for a play in then. Start the playoffs with that game
@@butchthurman4685 thats your fault for again not understanding what 4 best teams are. This is not the NFL. There are 5 upper tier conferences and 5 lower tier. Conferences are not equal and it is too many to judge simply based on conference championships. Bama is a top 4 team regardless of what you think.
Since you want to back we beat Bama in 15 with a third string sister back....
@Don P Naaaah. You were wrong if you think about it. It is because the following year J.T. Barrett won the job back from Cardale. They are different quarterbacks, and J.T. has most all the OSU records.
It took Overtime for OU to beat Army. Don’t hear too many ppl talking about this. OU has given up 47 ppg the last 5 weeks. Ohio State beat Maryland. Maryland beat Texas. Texas beat OU. Oh and David Pollock hates Ohio State. That obvious to see.
Why bother with playoffs? All Alabama has to do is show up roll their helmets on the field and game over. I know they're dominating....like to get a peak at the academics
Why oh why did Georgia have to tank to LSU? The Alabama, Clemson and Georgia defenses would completely throttle Notre Dame and there's no way OSU or OK put 40 on any of those three. IMHO. Notre Dame is undefeated and earns the right but Bama, Clemson, Georgia and OSU are the best four. The gap after Georgia is large. I will say Urban knows how to prepare a team for championship football.
Don P well... I mean the sooners only have half a team so I mean by default I guess buckeyes are better, but fuck em both and put ucf in so I can watch them get creamed
Georgia’s defense was better last year and Oklahoma put 40 on them. Oklahoma’s offense is better this year and the defense is not much different.
@@derrickmeade4891 OU will get creamed just as bad. You kidding? We can talk all day about Ohio State. OU has ate shit against unranked teams all year too.
Richard Anderson if army can take OU to OT, then I’m fairly confident UGA could beat them.
@@NickRamone0 nah I know Tua would put 100 on the sooners, honestly the top 4 right now is the best 4, ND is iffy cause lets be real any team that almost loses to vandy isn't a great team
Ohio State has showed that they can play championship caliber football on both sides of the ball. Oklahoma hasn't. Championship teams aren't THAT bad on defense.
Yes, Ohio State is inconsistent, but they CAN compete with Alabama; Oklahoma cannot.
Oh, and yeah; Haskins > Murray.
mack brown is a bust
OU Defense is Absolute GARBAGE. OSU has a better Defense. OSU has the best win in the country RN. OU has a slightly better Offense. They have been in just as much if not more close games then OSU. I'd give OSU with a Dominant Win Northwestern, talking 60-14 ish.
W/out a lot of luck, they would have lost 3-4 more games.
@Don P Agree. That's kind of what I was saying.
Not only that Texas already has OU's number. Their defense gets worse every game. Texas hasn't really changed and they are out for blood. It's going to be a really tough game..
I’m trying to tell y’all bro Ohio state will kill Alabama if they played them today I’m trying to tell y’all urban Meyer has Nick Saban‘s number
Peter Abredu - Dude, Saban ran urban out of the SEC. Bring it on!
Dude are u high as hell as just brain dead . Bama would kill osu
That’s was before Saban had an elite QB. Think about that. Stagnant offense killed Saban back then. This isn’t that same offense anymore.
