First day as a cashier in my parents business and this old man went from cordial to PISSED in 2 second flat all because I didn’t count his change backward to him cent by cent in his hand and instead just told him the amount while I handed it to him with the receipt. So I apologized because it honestly hadn’t occurred to me and offered to count it out to him to be sure it was the correct amount and he somehow got even angrier at me....just started straight-up yelling, ‘Excuse me?! What did you just say? Do you think I’m stupid or something young lady?!? I never said it was the wrong amount, I said YOU did it WRONG. You kids, too goddamn lazy to give customers their change back the RIGHT WAY without being asked! Get me your fucking manager - NOW!’
Yessir, let me just go get my mother the manager and owner! I’m sure she will be overjoyed to hear you swear and insult her 15 year old daughter who offered to help cover on a Saturday because people called out!
Guy got banned indefinitely. Sucks for him cuz the only other business like ours was 40-60 minutes out of town. And he deserves every penny he had to spend on the gas to get there. I hope he counted it all up cent by cent and realized he could have saved himself all that trouble because NOT being an asshole for no reason is absolutely free.

When I started in retail way, way, back that was taught to us as the correct and polite way to give the customer the change .
I compare it to todays `There you go` ,with a handful of coins and a bit of paper plonked down .
I would not dream of correcting anyone in the way this customer did but it registers as not properly trained .

Also, when has the “Do you know who I am!?” thing ever worked? I used to work for GMs customer service. One lady called in to complain about her Cadillac dealer. She claimed someone actually sat in her leather seat while the car was at the dealers, and now the seat will never fit her again. She wanted the seat replaced, along with all the seats, so they would match, plus a new interior so it would match the new seats. I really wanted to tell her that her seat had been sat in many times before she bought it, but just explained the seat was not damaged by somebody sitting in it.

Went to Wendy's. The guy in front of me spent like 10 minutes debating with the cashier which of the 2 coupons he cut out of the Sunday paper was the best value. I wait & wait as they go back & forth. Finally my turn to order: "I'll have a #1, large size, with a Diet Coke." The guy ahead of me says, "Oh, you made that look easy." No, just not a cheap skate. Felt sorry for the guy that he had so much time on his hands to a.) read & cut out coupons from the paper & b.) take them to a fast food joint to debate the price of a few cents off.

Let's see, happened last night. I was about to get off work when a lady calls in an order for 26 pizzas. We made those things as fast as we could, but of course it takes time to make that many pizzas. Well, apparently the lady wanted them like now and was raging pissed when they were all finally made and done cooking. If you have a large order like that, please call at least 24 hours ahead of time so they can be ready when you need them.

Work at a pizza place and I felt real. bad for the server that night. It was a busy Saturday night and we were all about to get out ahead of when we thought we were. Well literally one minute to close an ENTIRE graduation party walked in (no warning) as the server was about to leave. It affected all of us because of how big the party was but since drivers cooks and the dishwasher had some stuff left to do it wasn't the worst but the server was ALMOST out.

Elle RJ Lol, once I had to pick up like 30 pizzas for my dance troupe's big Christmas performance. We had obviously ordered way, way ahead, but even then when I got there they still had like 20 to go.
So I sat down, twiddled my thumbs, and farted around on my phone until they were ready.
Bitching isn't going to make them cook _any_ faster.
Then I had the guys help me get them into the trunk of my sedan, and drove away. And my back window immediately fogged up, followed quickly by my side windows and then my windshield. Because it was like 20*F outside and I'd just put 30 incredibly hot pizzas in the trunk of my car.

I work at a customer service desk/cigarette counter (evening so only 1 person working it) in a UK supermarket. A lady called me and complained for 15 minutes (it was 25 mins before the desk closed for the night) that she couldn't get the pancakes from her complete pancake decoration kit to work. Apparently they wouldn't cook. She kept repeating that I had ruined pancake day for her and her family. I eventually found out that she had an induction hob and the included pan in the kit was not induction compatible. I said she could bring the kit in for a refund the next day, or within the next 15 mins if she wanted, but she kept saying that I had ruined her evening. I transferred her to the manager because I had a queue building up.
Wtf was i supposed to do? Go around to her house with a new frying pan and cook her pancakes? I fucking hate customers.

When I was in high school, I worked at McDonald’s. During the summer we had dollar drink days where you could get any size pop for $1 as long as it wasn’t part of a meal. Anyways, I was working the drive through and this couple came through and ordered 4 double cheeseburgers, 4 large fries, and 4 large pops; so I punched these in as meals because that’s what they are and buying these items in a meal form is cheaper. Well, when they get to the window, they freak out at me and demand I charge each separately so they could get their dollar drinks. I tried to explain to them that it was cheaper to have these items in a meal but they would not listen. My manager was getting impatient because these idiots were messing up our drive thru times so I explained the situation and he backed me up about the price but they wouldn’t listen so he charged the items the way they wanted and just let them paid more. When they were out of earshot he told me I was right and they were stupid and he hoped they enjoyed paying more.

Hated working at McDonald's. Had a dude scream at me because he ordered a medium fry and got a large in his meal (literally free of charge as the receipt said medium) because "my kids don't eat that much". His boys were about middle school aged and one of them screeches "yeah I heard him order it" (like ok no one asked) and when I turn around and wait for the people at the window to exchange me for a medium fry, the dad was whispering crap to the kids and pointing at me and my coworker (we were outside handing out the food) and I'm like, really? You're gonna teach your kids to treat minimum wage workers like crap because you didn't get your way? Second Karen and her three kids have a hissy fit over their frappes not being filled all the way and threaten to call corporate and just mean mugged me and my coworker just trying to do our job and they continued to do so when they went inside to complain (we were outside again). They got pissy when we offered a free small frappe and that's what prompted them to go inside and cause a ruckus. Third Karen pulled up at about 10pm while I was in the back doing orders and back cash complaining about why her meal was expensive. I explained it was because she added a milkshake which was a beverage upcharge. Then proceeds to scream at me because I had customers waiting in drive thru to order and claimed I was "ignoring her" when I had my hands tied with customers. I tried to tell her I was the only one in the back and she was unconsolable and screamed at me. When I finally snapped and raised my voice she asks for the manager and I just called him back, gave him my headset and took a breather in the bathroom. I couldn't handle it. Final straw was when a woman complained and screamed at a literal minor outside over a missing big Mac from a very large order and literally threatened physical violence against the kid. She proceeds to yell "maybe you wouldn't have messed up my order if you didn't hire illegal immigrants". I quit the next day. It was mentally exhausting

I was the one who took this call...
I used to work for a government body where people who were our clients were obliged to submit a yearly document to ensure certain details were kept up to date, and to pay a yearly fee for the particular type of regulation we enforced. These two events are linked.
Some dumb bunny failed to submit the form or pay the fee, then failed to respond to two reminder letters that the form was late so late fees would be charged and only responded to a warning of a penalty notice about to be issued when the time for response had expired by around 2 weeks. He called to complain because he'd received a penalty notice which had been issued the evening of the same day we received the document and payment. Fairly obviously, we don't record payments instantly when the items are received by mail. That's one reason why the penalty wasn't sent out until a couple of weeks after the deadline expired.
He'd farted around for over six months before finally sending the form and the money, yet he had the gall to complain because we hadn't processed his form and payment on the exact same day they arrived.
I actually laughed slightly because it was so ridiculous. He wasn't happy at that, but I eventually managed to explain it to him, calmly and professionally and he calmed down once he realised how silly he was being, so I'll credit him that much.

I pointed to the customer service counter, but she said that wasn't the point & our company was "defrauding its customers of millions of dollars". I tried to lighten things by joking 'hey, I just work here', but that made her angrier & now her & the daughter are cussing me & calling me names. After offering a Cpl options to resolve & her refusing each, I took out a dime & told her to take it & I'm sorry for your loss. They wanted the manager; I had the same idea. Had one lady make a call in for a pizza special that we i think used to have before I worked there, it’s like a birthday special or smth a free medium 1-topping pizza with breadsticks. I asked the older employees and even the managers about it and they either said they never heard of it or that we didn’t have it-she asked if just our restaurant didn’t have it or all of them (this is godfather’s btw) and I said I’m not sure and she got mad and said if she found out we did have it (or I think if the other godfather’s had it) then she would report us to corporate……..I guess for lying. ALL THAT OVER A FUCKING BIRTHDAY SPECIAL PIZZA?!
Lady ain’t call back after that tho so I guess she ain’t get her pizza. It’s honestly what she gets for acting like that
Also this happened recently where a lady ordered a medium pizza. Like idk maybe 10min later one of my coworkers hands a medium pizza to a man sitting at one of the tables and the lady comes up to me saying that my coworker handed her pizza to that man and that she was tired of this and wanted her money back, I told my coworker and we both kept offering her the chance to wait a little bit longer for a remake personally made by the manager to get it done faster or if she still wanted the pizza, she declined both and I apologized and she said it wasn’t my fault and that she just wanted her money back. My coworker came out of the kitchen holding a pizza and told her that the other pizza wasn’t hers and that this one was-she still refuses to listen to reason and believes that we just pulled it out and put it up there as if we’re just gonna grab the first pizza that resembles your order and pretend it’s yours. But when she looked inside and saw the yellow ticket (the white ticket is our copy and the yellow is the customers copy. On the ticket it the ticket #, customer’s name of their order, and usually their phone number (or if it’s a dine it it’ll just be their table #)) that’s when she relented and apologized and left with her pizza.
People don’t just assume the first order I crapping see is yours, there are multiple customers in the store-shouldn’t it register to you that you’re not the only customer and as such there will be customers that have an order either similar to you or the same as you. Chill tf out

That happened to me many many years ago when I was working as a cashier. A guy started a big fuss for 1 Chilean peso (that small coin was less than a US cent at that time and were tossed away because of its intrinsically lack of value and almost nobody liked to receive it). He called me names, cussed me a lot, you got the picture. An old lady asked if she could provide that 1 peso coin so this ranting guy could stop this crap. He took this as a personal offense and yelled at this lady. That was too bad to him because two big guys grabbed him by his collar, another woman slapped him, and finally one of those big guys kicked his sorry ass out of the store.

Came back and the manager was at the counter. We showed him the pizza, even he was shocked. Who in the U.S. hasn't had a pizza, and doesn't know pizzas, any pizza has some sort of sauce. We basically had thin and cripys cheese sticks. The manager was nice enough to ask if we wanted another. We just got two cups of sauce. The person, who made the pizza, didn't last long. Screwed up constantly. Over or under cooked food. Couldn't figure out register and left the store once, unattended, for an hour. People walked in and went behind the counter and stole candy and ice cream. Miss video stores and Friday night.

We close early on Saturdays, so I locked the door and cleaned the place. I go outside to clean the door handle, and this guy was standing there, confused. Mind you, our hours are in giant font on the front door.
    "When do you close?"
"11am on Saturdays, sorry sir". It's 11:15 now.
He then started going off on a tirade because his doctor demands he get his bloodwork done now and that he cannot wait at all, it must be done now, and I have to open up for him. He yelled that he makes 5k a day and took a half day off just for this one test and now I'm ruining his day and I'll pay for it, and then followed it up with "so what are you gonna do about it missy?!"
"We close at 11am and I will get in trouble taking in customers after hours, I am sorry but there's nothing I can do".
*He had a meltdown* and let it slip that this doctor wrote the script a week ago, that he got bit by a spider and that's why he needs his blood tested and if he doesn't he'll die, meanwhile it's been a week since the bite and here he is screaming in my face. Clearly this wasn't on the top of his priorities if it took a week to get done after getting bitten by an unknown spider when we have brown recluses and widows aplenty. He ended it by saying "I'm calling my doctor and you're gonna get it from him!! You'll be sorry!!!" And sped off in his car.
Did I mention there's a hospital 10 minutes from us that always does bloodwork at all hours?
He never came back and we never heard from his doctor. I like to imagine his doctor either chewed him out or dropped him as a patient, either one gives me joy.

Customer threw a fit because I asked his birthday to buy alcohol. Our system will not let us past the date screen without typing in a birth date. He tried to pick a fight with the customer behind him who asked if he wanted the alcohol
Another customer threw a fit because he tried to buy cigarettes without an ID, and I refused
A man was slightly upset because he tried to return two things that were $10 each without a receipt - which is an automatic 'no', but it was 5 minutes to close and I simply didn't give a shit, returned one and put it on store credit. Claimed he drove a super expensive car and worked at the state stadium and couldn't be seen with a store credit gift card.
Several people complained that we had to take an ID to give out the restroom key. One claimed my generation is the one that ruined the country (I'm 22. My generation didn't do shit), one said he wouldn't give me anything and demanded the key. I gave up explaining that it was store policy and I couldn't give him the key without trading it for a phone or ID, and him demanding the key, I gave up and deadpanned looked at him until the manager got there

I advised her the down payment check bounced, and was replaced by another rubber check, which was replaced by a third rubber church. Customer stated we paid by check, so we can't cancel the policy. Customer was advised a check has to clear the bank before the payment is complete. For the record, after three bounces, only credit cards are accepted.

The ice cream story around the 18:00 min mark sounds right on the ball. Worked in a supermarket bakery for 14 years, and in this one store this one family always ordered a full sheet cake ( the biggest kind we carried ) every year with tons of crap on it....and then always came back a day or two after picking it up with like a tiny corner piece left and demanding a refund because 'The frosting didn't taste right / the cake was too dry/ we found (thing) in the cake / nobody liked how it tasted ' And they did this year after year. And every year the management ( which hadn't changed at all and knew these people pulled that shit ) would refund them the cost of the cake and give them gift cards as an apology for their horrible ordeal. I had nothing to do with the cakes ( they came in pre-made and frozen, with and without a base layer of mass produced frosting ) but it always blew my mind that the upper management just went along with this scam year after year.

Was at a hotel with an indoor pool, spa, and sauna. A lady in her 50's complained to the front desk that the spa and sauna were too hot to take her 6 month old granddaughter into. There were signs EVERYWHERE (in the lobby, the pool room, on the door of the sauna, and on the information packet in every room) giving the age of admittance for the spa and sauna as 16 years of age. She demanded the clerk turn down the temperatures of both places so the baby could go in. Got incredibly belligerent, and near violent when told that it wasn't possible. Police ended up removing the lady and her entire party, and her son, the father of the baby, yelled; "Damn it mom, one more episode of this bullshit and you're cut out of our lives!" Felt bad for the clerk and the family, but the lady got what she deserved.

A old lady came through my register and I gave her my best welcome smile and checked her out and she leaves. I went outside to smoke (Yes, it made me feel worse, but I'm a addict.) The old lady proceeded to rush back in and complain to my manager that, and I quote, "that fat guy that checked me out absolutely refused to talk to me." And called me a horrible employee. I have a story like these. Guy comes into my sandwich shop to order, and I get a skip the dishes (delivery service comparable to Uber eats or grub hub) order and a mobile order that came in. I finish with the person I was working on and go to start on the mobile skip the dishes order (for those who don’t know, these orders are timed, and if you don’t get them out in a timely fashion, aka before the customer/driver gets in to pick them up, it can look bad on you). This guy proceeds to yell at me for having to wait even though he was next in line. I told him that the mobile orders and skip the dishes orders automatically become next in line as we have a short timeframe to get them ready to be out the door, and I was sorry about the extra wait. Even telling this guy that this is how I was trained to do it didn’t change his fury. He came in another day, and again complained when he had to wait for a mobile order. Except this time, we got like 3 skip the dishes orders and a mobile order. It’s like, dude, you’ve seen this happen before, it doesn’t change in a couple weeks...

My job is in customer service. I'm one of those folks who handles complicated issues that the front-line agents and their supervisors can't handle. Technically, I'm not a supervisor; I don't outrank any of them. I just have training they don't. So I will occasionally handle escalated complaints that front-line agents don't know how to handle or can't handle.
33:10 Anytime somebody has complaints like these about other agents, I say that "I will talk to the agent about that." I go to the agent and say "This customer complained about [nonsense issue], and I told her I'd talk to you about it. So here I am talking to you about it." Our company has a no questions asked full refund if you're not satisfied with the product. That's not enough for some people. They want additional free items for the "inconvenience" of having to call us up so we will give them their money back. Are we supposed to psychically divine that they weren't satisfied with the item? And in any case, you get to KEEP THE ITEM. You don't have to return it if you don't like it, and we take you on your word that you don't like it. I hate customers like that.

this happened recently at my work, I work at a bakery and we serve confetti cake as one of our cake flavors. A customer got a small confetti cake and after eating it, she commented on our bakery site claiming she didn't like the plastic bits in the confetti cake which of course affected our bakery's score. What plastic bits was she talking about? the sprinkles. She called the sprinkles plastic bits because she didn't like the slight crunch they gave when you ate the cake, I've had the cake before the crunch is never super bad. But she still, apparently, insited they were plastic bits.

Had a gentleman call in an order one day. We were getting to the end of his order then he just asks "What kinda sides y'all gotz? Y'all got like baked beans or something?" We just say No... We serve pizzas, bread sides, sandwiches and pastas
Another time some guy was from out of town I assume because he was staying at a local Hotel Holiday Inn. He calls in to place an order and my 16 year old CSR answers. The CSR ask the basics "Is this for pick up or delivery?" The guy wants delivery. Ok so now we ask him to provide the address to where he is. He just says "Holiday Inn". So we ask again what's the address to the hotel? He angrily replies "IDK? I'm down the road from y'all!" Well this is an issue because we cannot send in delivery orders without specific addresses it's part of our company safety policy. So we tell him we can't send an order with no address. Well he gets the bright idea to threaten to drive to our store an beat up a 16 year old because we can't take his order which he can't seem to comprehend we need a physical address in order to send a delivery. It's common knowledge. How the hell does he get shit sent to his home address? Like wtf dude.. Well he comes to the store anyways to fuss at the 16 year old CSR and the other Assistant manager then leaves. While he was at the store he should've just placed his order instead of looking like a grown ass tiddy baby... The whole thing was pointless and a waste of time.

i work at a grocery store. The owner of the store also owns an Italian restaurant across the street, so we have a sign outside the front door saying "dining room now open at [restaurant]" and lists the dinner specials. The grocery store and restaurant do not have even remotely similar names, note for later. A few weeks ago this old lady comes into the grocery store, and I hear her complain to my supervisor that "she did a lap around the entire store, and where the hell is this dining room, etc". And she was astonished to be told that the dining room was at the Italian restaurant, that the name and address of is on the sign outside she read...

A customer got mad at me once because I didn't know if the shoe store next door sold soccer cleats.
    Me: "I'm not sure."
    Customer: "Shouldn't you?"
    Me: "I don't work there."
    Customer walks away in disgust.

Re: the taxi driver story: I drive a taxi, and any customer, drunk or sober, who accuses me of ripping off or deliberately taking the long route, I immediately eject from the cab. In front of a store, on a drug corner, on the fricking interstate, it doesn't matter, they only get the stopping distance of the car further. Groceries, laundry, luggage.....those get dumped on the pavement. If you want me to take a particular route, tell me and I'll happily do it, but call me a thief and out your deadbeat ass goes!

I worked at a call center for a utility company. Let's call them.. Columbia Gas of Ohio, because that's what they're actually called. This lady calls in upset because her gas was supposed to be reconnected but she got some sort of tag on her door.
So I will say the DOS system that they used was great once you knew how to navigate in DOS. The very first screen that comes up when I pull up her account has a section that displays any pending orders. Well I see "PLK" (I think, it's been like seven years) and that means Pending Leak Order. I explain that the technicians tried to turn her gas back on but there was a leak detected so they had to shut it back off for safety reasons. I told her I was going to transfer her to someone who could help her so she could get her lines serviced and her gas back on and she interrupts me to indignantly shout "so you're not turning my gas back on‽" I was so bewildered that I completely dropped my customer service persona and blurted out "I *can't*" she sighed and asked to be transferred so I did.
I will never forget this lady, ever.

I have to jump in here and say that store managers are 50% to blame if they give refunds when store policy says no. And that one who gave the customer a refund and double the food she’d already eaten, really needs to lose his job.
What happened to ejecting customers who are rude/unruly/stupid etc? Trust me , the customer needs the store more than they need bad customers . For every customer who is a waste of space there are dozens more who are decent and no business will go broke setting minimum standards of good behaviour.

3:50 They can get it cheaper somewhere farther away. They need to realize the price difference is the cost of not having to go farther to get the item. They can't have it both ways. They need to choose between savings and convenience.

Now that I have a job at Godfather’s pizza, I have never related to squidward so much. It’s very annoying when they place a call in order and take 10min to decide what they want, like please decide what you want before you call because there are multiple customers walking through the doors to either order or pick up their pizza, some dine in tables need to be cleaned, and the phones are ringing none stop.
Another is how we close dine-in’s at 8:00pm……it’s 7:35 and just a whole bunch of cars pull up wanting to dine in….it’s annoying especially when some of us are scheduled to leave at 8:30 but have to do clean up before hand……but can’t even get started on it until 8:20 BECAUSE! Of said dine in’s
And another it’s 8:55 we close at 9:00, WHY ARE YOU STILL CALLING?! WHY?!
Or on a call in order, I repeat to them their last order and ask if they would like to have it again…they say no…before thinking of what they want-only to repeat most of their last order
There was this one time we used to have this special where u get 2 pizza’s and cheese sticks for 20 smth, but our system got updated and now we don’t have that coupon anymore. At the time the voice recording on the phone wasn’t updated so it was still advertising that old coupon instead of our new coupon which was 2 pizzas and a large Chocolate chip cookie instead…some customers have legitimately asked for the old coupon and even after explaining they we don’t have that as a specialty or a coupon anymore some customers literally thought they were entitled to a coupon that didn’t exist anymore! And said that we owe them that coupon because it was still being “advertised” on the phone recording….how do we owe you a coupon that doesn’t exist???? Then when I explain once again that the recording isn’t updated they ask to speak to a manager….they’ll tell u the exact same thing I did. Thankfully the phone recording has been updated. But why do you make things so hard for the employees and then do a complete 180 for managers, customers pls remember that us employees can’t bend the rules or change them for you-if we say that we can’t do smth please do not think you’re entitled to get your way-the rules can’t be bent for you.

Mabey im a little late but a few weeks ago a old man comes to me
(I work at a supermarket and there is a bakery inside of it too and some other things and I was scheduled to work the late shift)
and looks at the price of the Brezeln ( because of inflation the price went up to 1€, nothing I can decide or control) and ask me
    "How much are the Brezeln?"
    and I said "1€ sir."
And he went off on me
"This is too expensive" and "If we were in medieval times y'all would be arrested" and "At this store it's only 35cent" and bla bla...
The only thing i said was "Okay but I don't make the price here."
And after he went on his way, a older lady I served before was like "What is his problem? If it's so expensive, he should just go to the other supermarket." And she said to me "Don't bother getting angry, just wonder about it."
Really nice of her but this interaction with the old man made me giggle the rest of my shift.
It's nice of her to care about a cashier after they were treated bad and were I'm from, we call these people "Ehrenman/Ehrenfrau" (translation: Gentelman, lady of honor)(it's kinda the teen language here)

Carpet and Furnace cleaning, I was a CSR. They used to have me call clients the day after an appointment, which is just asking for complaints. The most common with people complaining their carpets were not dry a day later, which upon further investigation they had always done absolutely nothing the technician had recommended to speed the process up.
But the absolute worst was the lady who tied me up on the phone for 20 minutes, made me write down and read back her complaint verbatim to make sure it was exactly how she wanted, then proceeded to just generally tell me off for an extra 5 minutes before hanging up.
Her complaint? She found the technician "creepy", and we shouldn't hire creepy people. I knew the tech she was talking about. He's not much for small talk but he does an amazing job. But seriously, a rant like that over something as subjective as "creepy"?

A lady calls towards the end of my shift and cusses ME out because she was hours late for her appointment and she was bumped off the waiting list. She then calls my coworker and tries to pin the blame on me. I've been working there for almost 3 years. I have no control over the wait list. Luckily, my coworkers are awesome. So she banned her from our location on the spot.

I work at Whole Foods doing the buffet and soup. Sometimes I have to answer questions such as if there more nuggets coming out. One woman asked me how long the rotisserie chickens would be as they sell out quite quickly and she needed one for dinner. I said it would be an hour. She demands to speak to my supervisor and begins to lecture him about how families need them to eat and it’s not fair that she always comes when they’re sold out or still in the oven. Needless to say I was cackling as he processed to stand there ignoring her. Idk why those chickens are such hot items. I heard it’s the same thing as Costco.

I used to work at a supplement store. A woman came in and wanted to look around for a while so I let her. She then proceeded to come to the counter and complain that we only had the store brand multivitamin gummies and she said. “That’s a monopoly.” I said “a monopoly?” She says “yaaaa do you not know what that means?” (I am a business major.) Once the woman was done with the purchase before she walked out she asked “are you in college?” I said “yes” and she says. “Goooood. I suggest you stay in school”. I handed her the receipt and said “a suggestion… don’t be so condescending.” In hindsight I wish I came down on her about how stores only selling store brand products isn’t a monopoly lol.

A very stoned-looking girl comes up to my till and asks if I could show her where we kept the slippers. As I was the only one on the till, I wasn't allowed to leave it unattended for any reason except break and I told her as such.
She immediately wanted my manager. Fortunately, though, a colleague was passing and agreed to show her, also confirming what I told her

At an outlet store a baby outfit our company priced it 10.99. Customer noticed the department price was 10.86. She angrily demanded she pay 10.86…she saved 13 cents. I congratulated her. “I’m glad you told me, you saved so much!”
Also had an unknown person put a clearance sticker higher than the normal price and she yelled at me across a long Christmas queue line of people that what I am doing is illegal. I didn’t even ring her up.
