    monthly salary = around 1500
    monthly rent = around 1000
    for your other expenses = around 500 = not enough.

    This is why I have seen people deciding to live in Middle East rather than in UK
    A person got 75000 Pounds per year with 3200 pounds in hand in London
    And same person got 85000 Pounds
    Equivalent in Dubai with 7200 pounds per month in Hand... this saving 4000 per month extra in Dubai

    I am thinking to shift there, they offered starting salary would be 1 lakh GBP (per annum) before thax.
    1: Is it a good salary???
    2: if I have a family of 5 people including me what would be the cost for living in London per year??
    3: What would be the procedure for the home loan because I my family is of 5 members and it is costly to live in a rent. And what is the interest rate of it.?
    (YOUR THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME, IT HELPS ME TO UNDERSTAND LONDON BETTER)

    Agree to every point of urs except the grocery price from supermarket vs branded one. No doubt supermarket ones r cheaper but the quality is also not upto the mark for eg rice, wheat flour or refined flour from Tesco are just useless. But if u pick it from Sainsbury's or waitrose it's very good but the difference of price with branded one would be marginal. so it also depends on which supermarket u r choosing

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому +1

      Kalpana, to an extent I agree. Even I don't buy food products from Lidl or Aldi as the quality is a bit low. But like the example I had shown , in Co-Op if you buy a pack of Pasta it is 50p, but the same in the leading brand is 1.20 £ which is more than twice. Same with the Pasta sauce. Those have no difference in quality. Same with Milk for e.g.

    Hello sir, thanks for all the detailed information. Really helpful for those planning for settlement. Will appreciate if you can answer few queries: I have worked & lived in Hounslow Central (near civic center). earlier in 2008, however i returned back to India after 2 years, as it's really difficult to save money especially for a single person even if you earn 1800£ or less than 2k pm. The cost of living expenses takes more than 80% of the income. So if calculated precisely the saving in UK ends up more or less the same compared to what you earn or save in India (if you have a good job & earn say around 85 k or less than 1 lac pm in India). 2. For a normal working class (salaried) people there seems only a possiblity if a couple works full time (so as atleast 1 persons income is fully saved). Plus the hardships one has to undergo in UK or US (or anywhere out of India) is really tiring & exhausting. As you have to do your own household chores (cleaning, cooking, ironing, etc) as appointing a maid is not affordable for many & UK majorly doesn't have a maid system (as we generally have it in India). Also if you have kids (you have to appoint a Babysitter or a nanny to pick them from schools or activity centers. (Again it cost significant amount to appoint a good babysitter). Considering all the above expenses & physical hardships. Do you still advice people to think of migrating to UK? Want know your thoughts on the same.. Also to add, what's the job stability forecast especially after Brexit dilemma?? As most of the financial sectors are shifting to Europe & Singapore (considering Brexit). Expecting your deep & fair advice on the same. Many thanks. Cheers.

      Hi Prabhat, If you are getting 1 lakh per month in India, and you are going to get around 2000 £ per month in UK, then I tend to agree with you that coming to the UK is not a good idea . Your quality of life will be better in India for sure Prabhat than UK with that salary comparison. Coming to UK is an investment in itself that will take years to get proper benefit. Especially with kids. The only argument is , when the initial years pass (when kids get older) - life becomes easier and easier in UK. You can switch jobs and get higher salary with the experience. In most Indian families, I had seen who have come to UK, the wife has no thoughts of working, but after coming here ,the opportunities open up, they start driving, find a job , progress in life and career to a different person and that helps financially as well. Doing a job in UK for a UK company offers lots of flexibility with flexible hours and flexible days as well which enables this. Personally I feel Brexit is not going to cause a major impact as it won't happen to the same extent it was originally planned . But then that is a big change if it happens. Hope this helps?

When we were renting we got a 2 bed flat for 950 £ . The same flat is now 1200-1300 £ per month. 180 £ for studio - was it a flat or a room or self contained portion in a maisonette house?

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  4 роки тому +1

      Krishnendu, I suggest bringing around 3000 £ roughly if you are coming alone. That should be more than enough for a month for a person coming alone and staying alone except for the house deposit if you find a house for rent. You can transfer money at that time. I brought only 500 £ when I came. But I had the ability to withdraw up to 250 £ per day using my Indian Debit Card in UK (ICICI) from any ATM. For my House Deposit, I had withdrawn money from the bank for 3-4 days and deposited into UK bank account as an easier option to transfer the money that time as I didn't have a proper money transfer process setup.

    Hi Anand. Very informative video. Thanks a lot :) What salaries can we expect for software engineers in London who have 6-7 years of experience? Is there a scope for Software Engineers in London at all? What are the chances of finding a Software engineer job in London?

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому

      Hard to say Naveen. Software engineer is too generic. You need a niche skillset. Like CRM, and need even more product skillset like Salesforce or Siebel for e.g. That's how the market is. There are people who have 10-15 years of experience and get 30 lakhs salaries in India and come to Uk and get only 2500 to 3000 £ per month. But some times if they have a good skillset they could be earning less than 10 lakhs in India and get 4000£+ per month in UK. it all depends on your skillset and demand at that time in the market.

      Life is certainly more comfortable in certain aspects in Chennai and India. Like domestic help, child care, parents support esp if you are in a decent job. People go abroad still because there is still a gap . Sometimes people go to earn and come back with savings. Sometimes there is a trade off to facilities still not commonly available like accessible clean toilets everywhere, less stressful school workload, less social taboo and peer pressure like to put kids in expensive schools or get them expensive things.

    • @montys7962
      @montys7962 5 років тому +2

      Anand Chennai2London yes you are correct.. there are pros & cons everywhere. However, you can't have much control over your kids in UK (unless you are a lucky parent & have really obeying kids). High possibility of kids falling prey to drugs, & other bad habits, once they turn teenage.. Home help (maid), babysitter for kids, car maintenance, insurance, council tax, & trip to India & often sundry expenses takes more than 80-90% of the income. Physical hardships like daily household chores is really exhausting as compared to India (where you can easily relax at home after office hours)..

      Very good point Elangovan! Chennai has a much better weather, much better housing stock, good schools, roads, infrastructure and on top of that, household help. I don’t understand why people want to move to UK. The only good thing about living in the UK is its proximity to Europe so that you can visit a large number of places..apart from that, it is better in India. And I didn’t even mention the food in India 😋

      Dipson, if he is really interested and has a UK company, he can apply for a sponsorship license. That's a lot easier than going with a third party which will complicate things.

In your opinion which place is more economical to live with my family? Please give your opinion sir? And is salsbury a good place to live and work in the UK?

      Rajiv, Salisbury is definitely cheaper to live compared to London City. Quality of life is better when you move away from London. Except for the fact that you may not find that many Indians around.

    Hi Sir, Thanks for the video and it is very informative. I have a question, My company is going to process Tier 2 (ICT) visa. If ABC company is processing my Tier 2 ICT visa, after working for sometime in UK for ABC company, can I switch to another company? or Do I need to stick to ABC alone as they are going to process my visa? Also, can my spouse work in UK on dependent visa? Please clarify? Thanks!

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому

      Lavanya, I have explained this in detail in my visa video. Please watch the English version here - ua-cam.com/video/ZWVcUus0sr0/v-deo.html
      You can switch to tier 2 general as I had explained. But there is a 12 month cooling off period when you have to work in India. So your tier 2 general sponsor should be willing to allow you to work from outside UK for 12 months. Alternatively the best option is for your spouse to start working (he can work immediately in UK after coming here as a tier 2 dependent) and find a tier 2 general sponsor and you can then switch to dependent visa. That way you can avoid the 12 month cooling off period.

      Prasath, it will be a lot less expensive than London. When I did a quick search in rightmove, the average 2 bedroom rent is around 700 £ per month. Compared to London where it is 1200 £ roughly, this would be a good salary for that place. Best wishes.

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  4 роки тому +1

      It is a decent salary to start with. But it won't be comfortable with 2 kids with both of you working. Childcare is extremely expensive. That is the main challenge. But the point is your salaries should go up over time to compensate for it. Lifestyle in London is very different to India. We have to be prepared to adapt to that lifestyle. You do your own work, no domestic help, for e.g. But eventually the quality of life will become better.

    Hi Anand ji, I am new subscriber of your channel. Your videos are very useful. I currently live in Hyderabad and got an offer to move to UK(Henley-on-Thames) under Tier-2 general visa. Hopefully, will travel in October or November this year. If you can suggest me agood area to rent a budget friendly 1bhk or 1bedroom flat? Some people suggested me for Reading. I would like to hear from you what would be the cost of living in Reading or Henely? Thank you so much for sharing the usefull information 🙂🙏

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  4 роки тому +1

      Reading is about 10 miles from Henley and a 15-20 minute drive without traffic. It is the biggest town near Henley on Thames. Henley On Thames is a bit of a posh place. You can take a glimpse of it here in the video we made in my wife's channel - ua-cam.com/video/Yb9lNJ_TyEA/v-deo.html
      1 Bed apartment in Henley can be 800-850£ + . Also if you don't have a car, Henley might be a bit difficult. There are not that many Indian Grocery shops / Eating places there. However Reading has lots of grocery stores and eateries from fast food to restaurants and a big mall. You can get rents from 550 to 600 £ for studio. There are even cheaper ones which are very tiny as they are built for the students in Reading university. I suggest rent in Reading for 6 months and then decide once you got to know the area.

Sorry, I did not mention but I will be moving along with my wife hence was looking for 1 bedroom flat as studio flat will be bit tiny. What is the salary for a decent lifestyle for a single person and for a couple in and outside london?

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  4 роки тому +1

      Siddharth, that is a very hard question to answer esp the decent lifestyle. Even if you earn 100,000 £ , the comforts of high earning in India you will not get in UK. Like having domestic help to do every house hold work for e.g. Ability to afford a driver. Regardless of the salary, those are not very affordable. So the lifestyle will change in UK. But without kids having a salary of about 60k £ gives you a decent quality lifestyle and with kids you need a bit higher than that. And if you are in London [probably around 70k £ . That includes the ability to take a couple of vacations in a year and eat out and things like that.

      Raksh, solicitors earn really good money in UK. That's because there is a legal requirement for solicitors for many things including every house purchase. So on an average a solicitor earns around 60 to 70,000 £ and sometimes close to 100,000 £ in london. but if you are in initial training days it will be lower till you become qualified
