Bose is like a games console. Optimised to run games very well, easy to set up and run and fits easily into small spaces. Everything else is like PC. Yes better, but more work and money to get a similar sound or better and takes up a lot more room.
Tom Jacobs Lol like i feel the same way, its whats built internally inside the speaker itself. If the trade secrets were only able to be seen behind the box lmao. Appreciate the humor. I have worked on drivers for years, its the dimensions acustically , i hear folks say its just a box, that cracks me up.
James Macintosh "what's inside the speaker itself" There are only 4 primary components to any speaker and here we have..... 1. Frame-simple stamped steel, literally the same thing you find in bargain basement speakers and even in cheap white van speakers. 2. Suspension-cheap foam surround and what looks like a standard canvas spider, nothing special and will start to break down with foam rot in 8-10 years. 3. Motor-small ass magnet with a .5 inch coil, you will find better in sub $10 Dayton drivers. 4. Cone material- Paper....I actually don't have an issue here, paper is a perfectly acceptable material for speaker cones, though it is also one of the cheapest materials that can be used as well. Seriously, bose could have just bought www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-pc68-8-2-1-2-full-range-poly-cone-driver--295-152 and had an infinitely better product with a better motor, surround, cone and greater frequency response and it's a perfect drop in fit, but no, they give you the cheapest shit and charge you a premium for it. It's hilariously ludicrous that people waste money on their bullshit.
The reason why people pay that much is because they come as apart of the acoustimass system. And yes the branding. But I have heard the cubes and they have great clarity as compared to other speakers I had experienced up to that point.
they are ok speakers for your home theater but l wouldn't pay money for them. l got a whole set of those little speakers for free and l hated them so l sold them, l used them as surrounds in my home theater and they were ok there but l wasn't going to keep them there when l had much better speakers so l sold them for like $5.
5 years ago I first commented. At that time I had just scored a pair off of Ebay because I had a ex who had the acoustimas and I remembered how great they sounded. I didn't put them in service until now. It is time to revist them now that my amp is repaired and I was suprised to find I have been here before to comment. I can say they do sound good. I am not the best judge of sound because my ears are shot I think. But what I can say is I have not seen many speakers this small rated to handle 165 watts and can play directly from the output of a amp without crossover protection from the bass frequencies. I think the small form factor is Plus. I think that if you choose to distill everything down to cost then sometimes you only get part of the whole picture. That being said I have seen them as low as $35 on Ebay. On the other hand I have morr money now and more experienes with highend audio.
They are. Not sure if it's an authorized after market replacement, overstock or standard rejects. They offer a single speaker case/speaker box for the cone but are not allowed to have the dual box or display the Bose name on their versions.
Just wondering what you expected to find in the cabinet? If you thought there was going to be anything inside other than wadding then clearly you have no real knowledge about Bose HT systems & the principles associated.
My mate has these in a 5.1 home theatre setup with a Bose sub fed by Denon amp. Always sounds too bassy, woolly and poor seperation. It's loud though. I'm not impressed but maybe it's how he has it set up. But he likes it.
My nose redline cubes are fuck.n awesome find me some cubes better and more functional. Plus you hear instruments in music you never heard until I got those cubes. Half of the guys complaining dont know what to listen for anyways😆
Get your f****g fingers off those paper cones! Paper cones are normal in both high and low cost speakers. Open any satellite speaker in the same price range and it won't be much different. May I suggest you try adding a sound absorbent material to the inside of the plastic enclosure? Rubber carpet underlay is very good at damping speaker enclosures and the small amount you need would be free, from a skip/dumpster.
I had an 3-2-1 system and for there price range I was expecting good quality for karaoke but not satisfied. It is good for home theater but failed when I used a microphone for karaoke machine. I heard cracking the small speakers can’t handle my ugly vocals.
The Tech Guy I don't get why people tear perfectly good speakers up. Don't think it'll make me happy to watch somebody distort good speakers. I'm good on that. Not that bored to watch it.
, your just basically paying for their research and the Brand Name, that's totally it. the only thing I like about Bose products is the simple fact that it is Simple to use, no buttons, no adjustments, turn it on and adjust the volume and away you go, trust me when I say guys if your married, because my wife can BURN WATER for Christ sake, she cannot operate ANYTHING ELECTRONIC AT ALL. except for Bose, that's why I got her a Bose 321 system for our bedroom and my Harmon/Karden, and AR speakers in living room, that's Acoustic Research for you dummies
Check out my newest speaker comparison video ua-cam.com/video/x858Q4RsbiU/v-deo.html
I'm using Bose Speakers since 1996. Still giving the best sound and condition never deteriorated. So nothing but Bose.

I got 10 series 3. I love the sound. Actually sounds amazing while watching a movie.
There's nothing special, extra ordinary, but the secret is how they made the voice coil and wire quality it have
I've had the AM 10's for almost 20 years with no complaint, I moved them to my bedroom when I upgraded to B&W system.
I have acoustimass 10. Can anyone help me with solution to the broken/cracked backside cover of jewel cube speakers
Hey, Have you tried opening satellite from acoustimass 10 ser3? There are no screws? Can you help?
It's permanently glued

8 ohms?
The Bose 601 series III is by far the best speaker Bose has ever made!!
ohms watts max???
Bose play around with frequencies ,air, and speakers which pump more air. The actual stuff lyes in their circuit board.
Non powered Acoustimass systems only have a crossover no sound processing
What are people expecting to find inside but insulation and a driver ?
Tom Jacobs Lol like i feel the same way, its whats built internally inside the speaker itself. If the trade secrets were only able to be seen behind the box lmao. Appreciate the humor. I have worked on drivers for years, its the dimensions acustically , i hear folks say its just a box, that cracks me up.
Say bose, and people hear it better lol. Then show them sony drivers in same box.

a decent driver perhaps, not just a cheapie paper cone
Well no shit that's all that's in there what dod he expect
estan conectados en serie o paralelo los dos ?
When they are branded "Buy Other Sound Equipment" what would you expect?
Bose lifestyle 25 conversation
what do you expect to find inside Jet engine?
One could hope
what are you expecting a pc inside ???? its the material and design not what you find inside ,,,,,
It got views
I have the same driver with a paper dust cap and rubber surround and the same cover on the magnet without that hole. Bose companion 2 series 2.
Those screws are meant to accept both, a Phillips and Robertson (square) head screwdriver.
The reason why people pay that much is because they come as apart of the acoustimass system. And yes the branding. But I have heard the cubes and they have great clarity as compared to other speakers I had experienced up to that point.
+Detroitblue there not bad but compared to a the Boston Soundwave there not as great

Sellers ask like $20 for a single cube or +500 for the acoustimass.

Problem with the screws... You are using a #2 driver when the screw uses a #3 driver.
Yes I did use the wrong screwdriver
Those aren’t #3 screws. They’re #1.
Plz suggest 5.1 speakers package in budget
+vinayak ingavale whats your budget
MARINLAW I am live in india ....I confused ...which speakers buy my budget 25k
+vinayak ingavale logitech Z906 will do well and in budget
MARINLAW Thank you so much sir
+vinayak ingavale its very good for the price
, those look just like the Neo magnetically sheilded drivers that Parts Express sells. 3 inch or 2 1/2 inch.
They are. Not sure if it's an authorized after market replacement, overstock or standard rejects. They offer a single speaker case/speaker box for the cone but are not allowed to have the dual box or display the Bose name on their versions.
Paper whizzer cones. Less than $1.00 each to make in China.
They dont have Whizzer Cones
Plastic cones are better to make high frequencies
It's amazing what good marketing can do for a shitty product.
Any body that knows anything about audio, knows u have to have separate drivers to get the balanced sound that people look for.
Fostex and tectonic elements would disagree
Just wondering what you expected to find in the cabinet? If you thought there was going to be anything inside other than wadding then clearly you have no real knowledge about Bose HT systems & the principles associated.
I expect people to view it , to which they have lol
My mate has these in a 5.1 home theatre setup with a Bose sub fed by Denon amp. Always sounds too bassy, woolly and poor seperation. It's loud though. I'm not impressed but maybe it's how he has it set up. But he likes it.
Bose best setup if you like that piercing ringing headache noise maker sound.
what do you expect inside Godzilla?😂😂😂
Yes that a great way to do it . But only on cheap manufactures speakers
My nose redline cubes are fuck.n awesome find me some cubes better and more functional. Plus you hear instruments in music you never heard until I got those cubes. Half of the guys complaining dont know what to listen for anyways😆
why do people buy this like wtf
Wife appreciation factor
Because it's so well marketed. Personally I'd go for Cambridge.
😮 0:39 those are speakers
Those are drivers

I really enjoyed the part when you took the screws out using a manual screwdriver.
+Rick O'Shea um
Years ago, I used to like Bose. But after experiencing a properly set-up stereo, it's a no contest; in terms of sound-stage, imaging and the likes.
I had an 3-2-1 system and for there price range I was expecting good quality for karaoke but not satisfied. It is good for home theater but failed when I used a microphone for karaoke machine. I heard cracking the small speakers can’t handle my ugly vocals.
It was never designed for karaoke
MARINLAW Yup, I thought it sound loud to handle it.
3:06 I expected a bit more to be honest, LOL. I'd expect a "lot" more for the price they charge.
The only speakers I use is Klipsch. They have the best sound of any everyday speaker .
Then my new video will make you happy . A tear down of a Klipsch sound bar . It’s uploading now
The Tech Guy I don't get why people tear perfectly good speakers up. Don't think it'll make me happy to watch somebody distort good speakers. I'm good on that. Not that bored to watch it.
The driver was in the bottom behind the speaker jacks dude. Maybe the judge should do due diligence before judging.
The driver in the top is the same as the one in the bottom .
The only thing Bose is good for is reselling, the resale value is outrageous.
Bose is just a brand, good in commercial stuff but very bad in audio quality
Bose is all about getting the most out of the cheapest components......to the extreme!
whats inside a 20,000 dollar speaker............
Whatever, nothing but bose.
Well yes I have a lot of bose....
, your just basically paying for their research and the
Brand Name, that's totally it. the only thing I like about Bose products is the simple fact that it is Simple to use, no buttons, no adjustments, turn it on and adjust the volume and away you go, trust me when I say guys if your married, because my wife can BURN WATER for Christ sake, she cannot operate ANYTHING ELECTRONIC AT ALL.
except for Bose, that's why I got her a Bose 321 system for our bedroom and my Harmon/Karden, and AR speakers in living room, that's Acoustic Research for you dummies
Simplicity is key for Bose , and it works for them
Ok know that no bass is sent Thur them its a mid only
mcdonalds cheese burgers arent worth a dollar.......but everyone buys them
Nothing special for bose 🤔🤔🤔
junk
those are junk.
Blose
Bose speakers r junk. There's nothing special about Bose audio. Never did like the way Bose sounds.
Bryan Holley You are right. BOSE speakers are totally crap.
Awful vid.
