Joe Biden has publicly condemned the ICC for including Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu in this group.
The Daily Express’ Christian Calgie agrees with Joe Biden's condemnation of the ICC for issuing an arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu, calling it 'offensive nonsense.’
Calgie says: 'Comparing Netanyahu to the terrorists that perpetrated that horrific crime is totally wrong.'
Conservative MP Tom Hunt defends Christian Calgie’s comments, saying that the ICC drawing a parallel between Hamas and Netanyahu 'shocking beyond belief'.
This prompted a wider discussion as to whether the UK should leave the ICC.
Labour MP Dame Diana Johnson believes the ICC is 'an important cornerstone of the legal framework that, as a country, we respect and operate within'.

This isn't about "comparisons" - it is a binary question on whether war crimes have been committed or not. The evidence is so overwhelming that even those who give Israel political cover to the point of absurdity (US State Dept. for one) can't bring themselves to definitively say "NO" and instead waffle around the question.
As for UK leaving as if it is somehow morally above the ICC - in any legal test of the Iraq invasion, Blair's conviction would be a formality.

Calgie and Hunt seem to think acts committed under the banner of democracy are subject to a different set of rules.
This does fit into a corporate mentality of no individual culpability which was borne from state exemptions.
A big window of accountability opens when state sanctioned actions can be prosecuted down to an individual level. It does happen, Milosevic, Sadam Hussein, and others have been held to account. It just doesn't happen very often.
It is why Biden is so against it.
