    If you want a street racer...this aint it. If you want a reliable commuter that has enough power to get onto the freeway without fear of being run over, a Toyota Camry is a good match. There is a good reason they sell so many of them. I long ago past my days of seeking the thrill of acting like a Nascar driver. The safety features packed in my 2022 Camry LE are just insane. Lane assist, Adaptive cruise control, ABS, auto dimming headlights, and 10..yes 10, airbags. At 63 years of age, getting me safely from point A to point B, is all the thrill I need. It is nice to see that it could go 135 miles per hour, but 80 is likely as high as I would ever go.

      @ChuddleBuggy Рік тому +3

      @@prandomable bro, i beg to differ. Top speed has nothing to do with the amount of gears. And, acceleration is always better with more gears, given the same technology. What that means is that an 8-speed will be quicker to accelerate than a 6-speed given the same engine power provided they are both the same type of automatic. The limiting factor for acceleration for a transmission is the shifting delay, so a regular automatic 8 speed will be quicker against a regular automatic 6-speed, but it will lose against a DCT. DCT shifts are almost instantaneous so there's practically no delay.

    Looking at some of these comments its like When talking about cars people seem to forget that for others money is a factor. So many people say things like "just buy a supra" "go get it supercharged" that shit ain't cheap. Its like some of yall think everyone can afford a 30'000$ plus car. If you own a car of any kind you're better off than most of the world. Having a nice car is a luxury and a privilege, something most people are unable to do unless they save for it or go into debt. You don't have to make fun of someone because they have a less expensive ride than you. Just makes you look like a dick

    Impressive top speed. I saw 132mph. Good acceleration. What is really Impressive is getting 39mpg at 90mph. Spacious and Comfortable too. In 2018 and 2019, headunit was integrated into the dash which was great but now it sticks out, blocks your view and looks cheap on the downside, the nose and underbody sometimes scrape. Under hard acceleration, the engine noise is unpleasant. Body styling isn't the best yet the LE, the cheapest model, actually looks better than the upper trims bumblebee style designed to trap bugs and dirt in the front. Difficult to clean.

    I don't understand why it doesn't go faster. I have an Alfa Romeo 166 3.0 from 1999 with a 4 speed auto. The 3.0 V6 engine has 225HP, only 10% more than this, but I can get it to 240 km/h. Maybe my car is just more aerodynamic (to the point of sacrificing a bit of interior room), but it's so old that I really doubt it.
    Anyway, I'd love to have the sporty version of a 2008 Corolla with this 2.5L engine and a strong 5 speed auto, Some work on the rear suspension and it could be a little beast.

    2022 le 2k miles The car does get out into traffick pretty well for a 4 banger ,the lane assist sucks an trying to figure out how to shut it off ,have not gone in depth with dealer on this yet as how to disable it ,i thought there was something wrong with the car as the wheel jerks in or out near the lines,the stock michelin tires suck ,the reviews on the tires are like a 2 stars tires for $700..00 set of tires i would never replace them with this tire ,there are budget tires better then these ,i like the car ,but the tires an the lane assist sucks too,i want to shut mine down when find a way to do it .the battery is kinda small ,the coolant res tank is like very weak cheap plastic that sways in the wind ,these are all things one can change or modify at a cost for the tires anyway ,i got this to replace a ram 1500 2019 5.7l hemi ,for the gas crisis ,an i miss my truck the way it drove was better ,i feel like i have to pay way more attention to the road in this car then my truck ,yes the gas milage 36.9 average between city & highway ,alot more road noise in the yota too,i my hope is to try adjusting the air in the tires to start ,everything else about the car i love ,but that being said if i have to pay more attention driving a sedan over a truck ?? something may be up,& only time will tell

      Germany tends to build more advanced and complex engines, that's true. The American industry tends to build engines that are simpler and easier to repair but which are inferior to the German ones in performance and efficiency, an interesting example was the German Tiger tank which was the best tank in the ww2, the one with the best armor, the most powerful cannon and with the strongest engine of the war but when it damaged the larch it took days to repair while the American Sherman tank was extremely inferior to the Tiger, it had much weaker armor, weak engine and much weaker gun, but when it broke down the repair took hours because it was much simpler than its Germanic counterpart.
      This culture of seeking excellence still exists at Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes and the cost is that they produce complex machines and unfortunately in the US most drivers don't have the maintenance care that the Germans have with their cars in Germany, that's why many German cars are in a bad state in the US and devalue a lot.
