They could also add a drop ship module. I can't remember if the Retaliator gets bonus to stealth. If it does I can see it becoming a transport for very valuable cargo. Stealthy with good self defense turrets. Maybe a size 7 or 8 module gun or bomb doors
just spitballing an idea here: what if they removed the Top/bottom airlocks, and added one to the Side, because it will make Boarding Gameplay (like the Legionnaire) less complicated to implement? after all it would be easier to Line up and board where you can just walk off, rather than going "well we've docked to the BOTTOM airlock, so, good luck pulling yourself up from it, from teh dock tube!"
They removed it because the top and bottom airlocks were unusable. If you tried to go through the bottom airlock, you would just fall back out the airlock. Couldnt enter the ship that way. If you used the top airlock, you would fall into the ship and take damage. Both airlocks were dumb ideas.
@@drragequit919 annoying to use, for sure, but dumb? i dunno, i could see reasons for both to be used, and possible solutions they could have leaned towards, so as deployable ladders, or even just "grasping the Airlock Rim to hoist in or out", but they were probably more complicated than simply "move it to the side"
@MrEsphoenix nah, part of thr selling point of the Legion. Is that it will have hacking gameplay to open locked doors on ships, and only Libe ships have locked doors, and least for now
Well, looks like I was correct. Some folks have been complaining about it only getting 20 SCU per Pod because that how they were sold. I have been telling those folks that because cargo got redesigned. Almost double the capacity now and similar to the Corsair.
It's been theorized for a very long time that one of the 2 personnel elevators would be removed along with top and bottom airlocks so they could place a side airlock door for ship to ship docking. You'll see the MISC Starfarer get the same treatment when they do Gold standard pass on it.
o7 Welcome back, Admiral. Captain. I've been waiting to see if Aegis might come out with a medium or large explorer, maybe this is it with the modularity opened up on it? Really love the Retaliator, first ship that caught my eye. Too bad you need a crew to use any of the weapons. Perhaps when AI and blades (if able to equip) get fleshed out, I might revisit it.

I really hope more ships get this kind of side airlock... even some of those recent ones (I am looking at you, Spirit, Starlifter, and Star Runner) By the way, I almost expect there to be a retractable cannon module, a QD module and an EMP module in the future...
In the case of the star runner the scan station has one seat and then a wasted long room of nothing. Airlock could go there and the room made shorter perhaps
@@thomasbouvier3203 I am a C1 owner, and it is doable... The whole cockpit interior would have to be moved a bit forward (which would justify the super-long canopy anyway) and those seat rails would have to be a bit shorter, but the space is there... Or alternatively the docking collar could be like on the reworked Freelancer, mounted on the top. Though I could also see a few panels move on the C1 side, or maybe there being something that extends from a fuselage at an angleand connects with the corridor in the middle... I'll try to make some sketches and post them on Spectrum or some other Star CItizen forum (along with a few other ideas, like a staircase/docking collar and interior variety for Origin 3xx series, Avenger reshaping to make more sense and a few others)...
Not all turrets are supposed to see well, look at tank design as an example, when the primary design of the ship is to be armored, visibility drops, when you are lightly armored, or quite literally a glass ship, your visibility will be great
Yeah, not much has changed except adding the modules, component access and the revamped entrance/docking collar. And apparently different shaped turrets. But those windows and all look to be the same, bathroom, etc seem to be the same
Wow, they are really making some moves, if they can get the FPS bug (and a few others) figured out 3.23 feels pretty nice, looking forward to see what 6 months brings us 🤙🏻
They need to change exterior as well, most of the changes to the docking area looks very primitive in design... especially that on the outside you can still see the spot for two elevators and two docking collars
@@watchoutbinzillazabout5960 The new docking collar is only on one side, but you can't see it from outside as well, because they added a shell to it. Seem like they just upscale the area without remodeling.

@@davewills6121 2 reasons: 1. because without the torpedo modules this thing is useless to me and 2. I barely used the tali at all, so for me this was an upgrade. Also bigger doesn't always mean better.

I have always liked the retaliator, cool shape, cool interior asthetic, kinda mazy on the inside which is a little bit cool and I have noticed I like on other ships too. Big open areas are way more useful of course but a little bit of a functional and believable maze on the inside is way cooler for whatever reason. Anyways, I am a tiny bit dissapointed that they didnt try to squeeze more space in the modules. I always felt this ship should be a rough equivalent tier to Connie (although very different roles and shapes) but unless I am mistaken, this fits quite a bit less SCU than the connie, and this guy looks like it is not utilizing much of the space inside the bays. Seems almost like 2 of the big boxes could fit side by side if they had tried to remove the cresent shape thning related to torpedos. IDK anyways good to see the tally getting some love and introducing modularity which will be the new hot item to sell for all ships im sure. Just wish the tally was a tin bit more useful. Seems like Constalation is superior on all fronts unless you are firing torpedos, but im sure it will get a module to do that too
I actually liked the old turrets more. It gave the whole ship this sleek stealth-bomberish vibe. The new one seem very clunky. Also I like the more open center in the new cockpit, but I miss the three monitors up top, which made it feel like a very technological military ship. As Bomber is the base version, I found that fitting.
I had no interest in the retaliator but those updated visuals look super sick. Also having a super heavily armored cargo ship does have its own appeal lol. Plus it has way more cargo than i was expecting! Thanks for the video Foxy!
its very cool that its here now but the retaliator in my opinion is just a very flawed ship, most of the interior is just hallways, how much scu is that, like 24? 32? or you can have really strong torpedos wasted potential but thats marketing from 10 years ago
@@cpt_foxyloxy you have to go into the cockpit and believe it’s Alt+K - at least it was in 3.22.1 - that unlocks the weapons. That’s different from components.

I think so, but will test it. Because you can attach these modules individually front or back, so very likely you can mix them - and that will be really cool
Two corrections: 1) The Base is pretty much a useless ship now. The armor (actually HP) is no longer very good. It used to be 300k, the highest in game. Now it is only ~40% of it - even less than 600i Touring. Heh. 2) Retaliator had already had VTOL before this patch. For years.
@@Eliaval change erkul to 3.23.1 ptu, they slightly nerfed the hull hp from 148.785 to 138.981 but massively upgraded the shield generators from 12.000hp to 36.000hp since they replaced the 2x S2 with 6x S2 so not really what I would consider a change that makes it "useless".
Torpedo Bays are modules now. They will be whats installed by default. the cargo modules are optional. you can run one cargo and one torpedo bay if you want.
I was hoping for at least a tiny bit more cargo. I can imagine some uses for a ship like that, but it does feel a bit limited for now. Looks great though.
Yeah I was hoping for more also, but it's not as bad as some of ~40-ish rumours I have heard over the past years either, so not terrible. Almost makes me want to swap my C1 for it, but being a solo player and having no pilot guns on the Tali, I can't justify the swap. Plus, although the C1 has 10 less SCU, it looks like the Tali can only take one 32 SCU box, whereas the C1 can do 2 (3 unofficially if you don't mind trapping yourself in the ship lol).
yeah its the traditional Invictus ptu patch before the actual event. Other than stuff like small fixes and stuff that didn't quiet make it for the 3.23.0 release nothing too special about it though.
@@WarlockSRB they said in the patchnotes that they don't plan to test the show floor until monday, so they probably just quickly tested some hotfixes that didn't make it for 3.23.0 considering they said that ships bought ingame shortly before 3.23.0 dropped that dissapeared should reappear in 3.23.1.

just spitballing an idea here: what if they removed the Top/bottom airlocks, and added one to the Side, because it will make Boarding Gameplay (like the Legionnaire) less complicated to implement? after all it would be easier to Line up and board where you can just walk off, rather than going "well we've docked to the BOTTOM airlock, so, good luck pulling yourself up from it, from teh dock tube!"
Pretty sure to use it you will need to soft death the ship, taking the gravity generator offline anyway.
Well its also now mandatory since corridors on stations are from the side. Much easier
Yes, that is exactly what it is now
Thanks for sharing! I’m excited 🎉
What happens if you try to change the modules while laden with cargo?
you have to store it or is locked, just like you do with other components, paints, guns, etc ...
What is the Scu size of the front cargo bay and the back cargo bay separately?
37 + 37 = 74 scu total
9:00 CIG should just make a small mobile "poop & carry" unit that can fit in any cargohold, so you can use toilet in the cargobay

Welcome back, Admiral. Captain.
I've been waiting to see if Aegis might come out with a medium or large explorer, maybe this is it with the modularity opened up on it?
Really love the Retaliator, first ship that caught my eye. Too bad you need a crew to use any of the weapons. Perhaps when AI and blades (if able to equip) get fleshed out, I might revisit it.
that the fist time u see a fuse? u have not tryed it that team Engineering AC game mode or had and streems of if up in the background? allso ull note that lift in to the ship is now biger
I really hope more ships get this kind of side airlock... even some of those recent ones (I am looking at you, Spirit, Starlifter, and Star Runner)
By the way, I almost expect there to be a retractable cannon module, a QD module and an EMP module in the future...
In the case of the star runner the scan station has one seat and then a wasted long room of nothing. Airlock could go there and the room made shorter perhaps
Msr and starlifter sure, but c1 its complicated…. With the flat design. But yeah it could be nice
Not all turrets are supposed to see well, look at tank design as an example, when the primary design of the ship is to be armored, visibility drops, when you are lightly armored, or quite literally a glass ship, your visibility will be great
WIll it fit a Nursa in the cargo area?
Yeah, not much has changed except adding the modules, component access and the revamped entrance/docking collar. And apparently different shaped turrets. But those windows and all look to be the same, bathroom, etc seem to be the same
Great Video love it!!! Can't wait!! Do we know yet the cargo capacity of the two cargo modulus yet?
Yes, it is in the end of the video, it is 74 scu total
@@cpt_foxyloxy i'm so sorry kids must have been screaming during that part lol
they should change the shields for a S3 that can you access from inside for repairs and from outside to change it via an elevator
Wow, they are really making some moves, if they can get the FPS bug (and a few others) figured out 3.23 feels pretty nice, looking forward to see what 6 months brings us 🤙🏻
They need to change exterior as well, most of the changes to the docking area looks very primitive in design... especially that on the outside you can still see the spot for two elevators and two docking collars
rule of cool , keep it as symetircal as possible XD
@@watchoutbinzillazabout5960 The new docking collar is only on one side, but you can't see it from outside as well, because they added a shell to it. They can do the same thing to other parts of the entrance as well.
But tbh, the modeling is really lacking detail in the new interior version as well... Seem like they just upscale the area without remodeling.
I ccu'd my tali base to an f7mk2 just yesterday because now that it's actually coming, I don't need it anymore. I only got it to get the torpedo bomber variant as a loaner to farm erts :D
Also did you unlock the weapons before trying to detach them? IIrc it's right alt + k in the pilot seat... for turrets probably you gotta do it in their seats instead?
I did, you can see in the video that I can remove all the components, but not the weapons
F7MKII?, your supposed to earn up, not down, you exchanged a torp bombers for a tiddly fighter...why?
@@davewills6121 2 reasons: 1. because without the torpedo modules this thing is useless to me and 2. I barely used the tali at all, so for me this was an upgrade. Also bigger doesn't always mean better.
dropship medical module would be funny like a 6 passenger on the front and maybe 12 in the back and t1 bed for front and t2 for back? Medevac Talli incoming?
Did you unlock the weapons before trying to tear them off?
yes
Can't detatch guns? Did you press alt k to unlock everything?
I did, you can see in the video that I can remove all the components, but not the weapons
@@cpt_foxyloxy ah! Missed that bit! :)
Thanks for the video Foxy!
its very cool that its here now
but the retaliator in my opinion is just a very flawed ship, most of the interior is just hallways, how much scu is that, like 24? 32? or you can have really strong torpedos
wasted potential but thats marketing from 10 years ago
Yeah Cargo Tally is something you would use because you like the ship, just like the Syulen.
74 between both modules.
Am I the only one who thinks the way the horizontal docking collar looks is kind of funky from the outside?
but how are we supose to change ship module ?
through mobi in your vehicle loadout manager
@@cpt_foxyloxy thx 👍
Good place to put some ground vehicle inside it, like some Mirai Pulse. :)
Where is the bathroom? What took its place if it didn't exist?
bathroom is still there ,he just forgot to visit it.
The starboard side of the front bay is crew quarters to the aft and captain's quarters towards the fore.
Yes, I found it.
can't believe my tali is getting any work
Is there really a cargo bug that allows you to sell twice right now ?
You have to unlock the guns in the cockpit to be removed. That also has been there since patches.
I did, you can see in the video that I can remove all the components, but not the weapons
@@cpt_foxyloxy you have to go into the cockpit and believe it’s Alt+K - at least it was in 3.22.1 - that unlocks the weapons. That’s different from components.
Six shield generator that ship better be invincible

i want drop pods or a launching mechanism for titan suits so we can drop troops without landing
It will certainly come in the future, no space game without orbital drop and stuff, maybe even parachutes will come too.
We do have the dropship module for this ship. Currently we have 1. Cargo, 2. Dropship, 3 Living Quarter, those three modules for the tali, but I can't see the other 2 modules except the cargo. Probably still in WIP
@@cpt_foxyloxy ive seen the dropship modules but thats not what i want , theyre basically the inside of a cutty steel i want say 4 titan suits on chains or something that can be dropped iinto atmo rather an just an extra 12 seats
Do you think it can fit a fury?
Will try
But like how about the carrack?
Great video!!
Thanks!
I really like your videos !!
Glad you like them!
Years ago they said the Retaliator would be increasing in size by about 25% and this video saddens me a bit because I was really hoping those cargo elevators would be bigger. I guess it might be big enough for a Mirai Fury at least =/
Well i keep getting told that ''NPC Crew and AI Blades'' are on the horizon, to crew those large ships owned by solo players?
Would love to see if you can do one cargo module and one torpedo module at the same time
I think so, but will test it. Because you can attach these modules individually front or back, so very likely you can mix them - and that will be really cool
Woinder if we could cram a ursa in the back, its about the same size as 2 stv's according to the matrix of lies
URSA definitely not, the biggest car is the STV
Two corrections:
1) The Base is pretty much a useless ship now. The armor (actually HP) is no longer very good. It used to be 300k, the highest in game. Now it is only ~40% of it - even less than 600i Touring. Heh.
2) Retaliator had already had VTOL before this patch. For years.
pretty sure erkul says it has 148 785 hp still but idk
@@Eliaval change erkul to 3.23.1 ptu, they slightly nerfed the hull hp from 148.785 to 138.981 but massively upgraded the shield generators from 12.000hp to 36.000hp since they replaced the 2x S2 with 6x S2 so not really what I would consider a change that makes it "useless".

I feel like the only way of this cargo module is to the space pirate players to guess if you have trops or cargo?
Yep, they will probably scan you first
Bathroom and captains quarters are on the right front side of the ship if they havnt taken them out.
Found it, the bathroom is still here. Thank you!
@@cpt_foxyloxy the captains quarters are at thr front right where you get in the cockpit or is it gone?
U can shoot the weapons off and then interact with them :)
yay they finally attached rooms to item ports...
there are undoubtedly going to be some individuals that bought the base model and enjoyed those torps that are going to be angry at the loss.
Torpedo Bays are modules now. They will be whats installed by default. the cargo modules are optional. you can run one cargo and one torpedo bay if you want.

No, you are incorrect. There is a base model which is cargo and the torpedo model.
True, but they knew it would come one day. They can buy the modules soon.
@@SternLX the base model does NOT come with torps. by default. only the bomber.

Yes cpt lets gooooo so excited thx for sharing
You are welcome!
Plus, although the C1 has 10 less SCU, it looks like the Tali can only take one 32 SCU box, whereas the C1 can do 2 (3 unofficially if you don't mind trapping yourself in the ship lol).
so... 3.23.1 PTU is up?
yeah its the traditional Invictus ptu patch before the actual event. Other than stuff like small fixes and stuff that didn't quiet make it for the 3.23.0 release nothing too special about it though.
@@BizzMRK 3.23.1 closed already, probably going live soonTM :)
I'm never going to look at a Tali and think to scan it for cargo. I'm just going to blow it up before it tries to blow me up.
where do we buy the modules ingame if we cant then people who bought the tali ingame are just flying bricks
I think this Aegis day, they will sell at least the cargo modules, because it works well in game rn
Sooooo ... where does one go to PURCHASE said modules?!?! I've NEVER seen anything about that one, tiny, yet MASSIVELY IMPORTANT DETAIL ....
It was included in the original concept sale or some game packages, and they might sell it again during Aegis Day this ILW, so wait a few days and see
The bathroom is on the right of the center corridor.
Thank you
Medical module = Instant buy. I want a medical module in front and crew module in the back
Very cool! Now GIB RSI Galaxy! xD
I want to unmelt my Tali so bad. Been waiting for CIG to give me an excuse all these years to do it. I'm not totally convinced at this time yet to do so though. Being totally reliant on turret guns for firepower is a huge turn off since I play solo for the most part. Still, I have a soft spot for this ship and am looking for CIG to give me the right excuse to unmelt it even after all these years.
808 thumbs up on this one. Very popular. Good for you.. I still think it's a stupid ship idea. I'll stick with the Cutlass.. anyway, that was a lot of videos to Mark. I'm going to take a nap now. Have a good day buddy..🪐
is this in live?
