- The all new 2010 BMW X6 ActiveHybrid has a new BMW drivetrain that integrates the batteries, electronics systems and power inverter all within the transmission. BMWs first Hybrid offers more sport as opposed to fuel efficiency. While it does get about 20% better fuel economy than a regular X6 don't expect the fuel economy that you'd get from a BMW X5 diesel. Roadfly correspondent Steve Hammes road tests and reviews the new BMW with introductory commentary from Jessi Lang. Put a picture of this car next to the word UGLY in the dictionary
@nismo007 why of course dear sir, it's non hybrid version does a little less so there you go.
I've heard it does 12mpg city in fact. 17 is not that bad given the weight and the huge gasoline engine.
@chowman29 Yea, you can get an m6 for that kind of money, its probably more economical
I would take this over a Prius. Or two or three Priuses.
what an insane car
why is there snow in NJ in august?????
jessi lang would get it!
80 extra hps from an electric motor is pretty impressive.
damn, 485 HP! ii would love to have this :)
I don't get the point of being a hybrid with those ratings... maybe I haven't paid enough attention but it feels pointless getting 17 city and 19 hwy. If they would adopt the lotus principle of lightness they wouldn't need such a huge engine and still a load the trunk with a ton of batteries...
hybrid with 17-19mpg... wow -.-
Carlo Piscasio my x1 is 1400kg and has a 2.0l engine but it is a diesel and does 18mpg - city. Previous car opel astra 1.4l petrol, 1100kg and did 16 mpg -city. So maybe it does make sense after all.
It looks better than the x5 but not that practical so it's rather big for no reason.
about the same price as a X6 M...but 1 second slower. and only around 3MPG better on gas....and not nearly as cool looking or fun or fast or badass lol
Good review... hit lots of great points. All that being said and as imformative as it was... I just don't get it. I don't see any advantage to the hybrid system in this thing at all. It seems like they could have tweeked the turbos and arrived at the same numbers.... including MPG while not having a huge battery pack full of stuff harmful to the environment destined for the landfill someday. Maybe it is just me but this seems like a waste... jsut technology for technologies sake nothing more.
@racewithferrari It looks like a bloated 3-series
100k???
ef off....
17city 19 highway, my nissan gtr does 24mpg combined, and my rs4 22mpg, this is pathetic,
Made by the Devil himself!!!
Cause it is BAdass
ewwww, look at those wheels
My buddy bought one of these X6 things and no one can figure out why.
It is butt ugly and less useful than his previous X5 and this one is ridiculously overpriced.
That is S Class territory.
