Feeding cows to cows was a big bad idea. Really wtf they were thinking.
money mostly. they saw it better to feed ground up spinal cord to cows (and humans!) because A) it wastes less of the cow & B) it promoted growth of the cow. but yes very short sighted public health wise

Please watch out and keep us informed. The only true difference between cCJD and vCJD is whether the illness got traced to a cow or not. Please, watch out for more cases in your region or an unexplained raise in Alzheimer's disease. Please, document that so people can be saved in the future.

The reason why I'm asking is because I'm suddenly having a case in The last 5 years of many of my family members all coming down with ALS and passing away all the symptoms are exactly the same.
Now we do consume beef but we've also consumed deer that might have contained chronic wasting disease without knowing animals seem to be perfectly healthy but it's only suspicion we got no evidence for it right now
No. There's actually been studies on prions and they are resistant to pretty much everything thrown at them including radiation and extreme amounts of heat

@@CB-vq1cv yeah true, prions are a real danger to us, they can't be killed or destroyed, they're extremely resistant to any form of sterilization method, heat, mechanical, chemical etc
Great video. But I have some questions.
1) Aren't those stacked prion proteins big/large proteins? How can they be absorbed in gastrointestinal tract?
2) What is the purpose of the healthy prion protein (PrPc)? Does it have any function? Why do our bodies produce it?
3) After someone gets infected, do the stacked proteins in the brain keep getting stacked more and more even though the person stops consuming infected meat? If yes, then how?

1) They are very large but much smaller when in the GI tract. They only begin exponential growth once in the tissue of residence like the brain. They are absorbed easily due to being hydrophobic, and can cross cell membranes. This is one explanation, as it is not well understood. Gut absorption has been demonstrated by in vivo studies, however.
2) To be frank, PrP normal function is not well understood, but it is thought to be neuroprotective (e.g., accelerate myelin repair on neurons)
SOURCE: Abbott A (2010-01-24). "Healthy prions protect nerves". Nature.
3) a) The infectious prion protein (PrPs) comes in contact with a host PrPc that is not infectious.
b) Foreign PrPs induces PrPc to misfold, a spontaneous process (- delta G)
c) Prion chain grows by same process (a and b).
d) Large chain breaks in half, creating two medium chains that grow by same mechanism.
e) Break - Contact - Misfold - Grow .... Repeats.

Kuru was discovered in the Fore tribe in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. The Fore practiced funerary cannibalism, so they weren't hunting down slow tourists with spears or anything like that.

There are many people now who have similar issues after taking the Covid vaccines. Several scientist stated that they suspect it is possibly a prion disease and the vaccines are causing prion disease in some people :(

There's always a possibility of some abnormality in surroundings, if prions were on the grass cows ate, then there's a chance. There could be no other way

My mum has Jakob disease, just confirmed few days ago. From amotional happy outgoing woman- she suddenly, in only 2month- She can't walk and talk now, her hands shake and she needs to be fed.. day by day her chuving reflect gets slower and showering, she jockes when drinks water....its very hard to see her like this, if your love once has it, please be strong and one thing is positive is that person who has it has no pain. My mum had 60th birthday 5 days ago...I believe its too young to die. My children and husband are keep me going and know I can not change anything even if its my wish.
For those who are wondering, my mum didn't eat caw meat barely at all...she wasn't a fun of caw meat and very very rare when she ate she cooked it extremely well...so that means people can get disease from nowere- one thing mum was very amotional woman, also she was like a match when she got angry and could get time at the time depression but never last for too long. So people engoy life and no not stress over silly things. Mum now very relaxed and no reaction from her ...no amotions...she just lie down very quit...and smiles when u smile to her. She remembers me my dad and my sister very well...

It managed to cross the GI membrane and escaped from proteases, I don't think it would take much effort to cross BBB.
Again we have seen IgG sometimes cross BBB with it's 150kDa hydrophobic body. PrPsc is around 200kDa with similar hydrophobic properties.

It's The Walking Dead theme. I hope it is not prophetic but I just watched a show from Israeli News Live, called zombie apocalypse talking about Pfizer vac activating TDP 43 protein and FUS protein leading to the pathology of CJD after 6 to 12 months of recieving vac, watch for symptoms and pray.
Scrapie, CWD, C-BSE, Atypical L-BSE and H-BSE. Only C-BSE cause NVCJD. Atypical BSE causes SCJD.

No. These nasty prions can survive bases, acids, oxidizers, ionizing radiation, autoclave treatment. You can drench it in Drano and it barely tickles the prion. You can pour pure hydrochloric acid and nothing. You can stick it to an uranium rod at a nuclear facility and this thing would just sit there comfortably. The only wat to get rid of them according to research is to burn them at 1825°F (1000°C) for at least 15 minutes. Less time or less temperature and the ashes can still get you. Freaky stuff.
@ That is not correct. BSE is alive and well. Vegans and non-vegans should come together to demand BSE testing for every slaughtered cow. As you may already know, prions survive all industrial treatments. Even if you don't eat meat, you will be exposed to prions in the form of supplements, vaccines, glue, cosmetics, and a variety of other forms of industrial products.
To make thigs worse, prions can be uptaken by plants so even organic produce fertilized with animal manure is not safe!
