Wow! What a great tip especially for the beginner like myself...
Thank you so much for sharing thus tip...
Excellent, Excellent, EXCELLENT!!! I am so happy I saw this video. Satoshi Yamamoto told me about it. I have been so frustrated trying to tie size 20 thru 24 soft hackles because I couldn't find any hackles in my vast collection of feathers bought in an attempt to get them small enough. I have enough for a lifetime. I may start selling some now that there really is a viable way to use the larger feathers I have to tie flies!
I can't thank you enough for sharing your wisdom. All the Best Sean
great technique .... now I know what to do with all my extra larger feathers. Glad to see your videos again.

Awesome! You're the first tyer I've seen do this. I first saw the technique in the Feather Craft catalog a long time ago. Thanks for verifying that it's not perfect, I thought it was me, lol. Funny how so many streamers are reverse tied now with a similar technique. I'll check out your site, thanks again.
Is this technique only suitable for soft hackles?
